JAMA pulls plug on editor; fired for questioning 'existence of structural racism' on podcast

An editor at the Journal of the American Medical Association is out of a job after criticizing the concept of structural racism in the healthcare field during a February podcast.

Dr. James L. Madara, CEO and executive vice president of the American Medical Association, announced in a statement that the journal had accepted the resignation of Deputy Editor for Clinical Reviews and Education Dr. Edward H. Livingston, accusing him of hosting a “harmful” podcast that “both minimized the effects of systemic racism in health care and questioned its profound impact on millions of people across our country.”

The AMA’s CEO declared that “structural racism exists in the U.S. and in medicine” and that it’s “not opinion or conjecture” but a fact proven “through the science and in the evidence.”......To Read More...

Our Group Take - 1. The AMA stopped being relevant in 1965. Until Medicare came in, they were against it. The very moment it did come in, they changed course because they saw how it could benefit THEM, not the docs they supposedly represented. They started the reimbursement schedules, to the tune of big bucks. As it is, fewer than 10 percent of actual practicing docs belong to that wretched organization. An absolute sick joke. 

2. Talk about yet another vile and grossly anti-science anti-American action that will have a massive chilling effect on science in addition to academics. This is the sort of thing expected in totalitarian nations, not America for heaven's sake. And yet it's now rampant across the nation.

Dartmouth Students and Faculty Sign Letter to Combat 'Structural Racism' on Campus

Hundreds of students and faculty at Dartmouth College have signed a letter calling for radical change at the school in order to combat "structural racism."The letter, directed toward senior leadership including Dartmouth chairwoman Laurel Richie and President Philip J. Hanlon, claims that "unrepentant White supremacy" rooted in the college's history has shaped the "mission, tradition, and culture" at the school.

On June 17, the group met with senior leadership in order to discuss their concerns about the racial climate on campus. Following this meeting, the school put out a statement on July 1, acknowledging the group's concerns and the racial reckoning happening nationwide. Leadership vowed to implement changes such as hiring more people of color and implicit bias training, stating that these commitments were "just the start."............To Read More.... 

My Take - Implicit Racism, Inherent Racism, Structural Racism: Can anyone define these terms? Can they give examples? The answer is no, and Dartmouth is like most of all the other universities in the nation. Filled with invertebrate leadership.

Revenge On Implied “Structural Racism” Is A Dish Best Served Cold

Enough already, it’s time for revolt. Structural racism, white male privilege, whatever a person “officially” calls it, is a means to the same end. It is “racism” based purely on skin color and nothing else. 

Shamelessly, it is accusing white men of being “institutionally” racist with no proof or evidence of that being true. Unless the white man in question has sworn allegiance to the liberal, progressive agenda and then begged and pleaded for forgiveness for being born white, then he is semi-vindicated. 

But even still, whiteness begets racism, especially when mixed with the hate tonic of Christianity. Some fine young men at Minneapolis Community and Technical College decided they were sick of listening to the theory of structural racism. 

As reported by the toxic progressive outlet Salon on Monday, December 2nd, three white male students revolted against their professor’s ranting about structural racism. Naturally, Salon got the only side of the story that interested them, the side that propagated institutional racism. That would be black female professor Shannon Gibney’s take on the ordeal.
