That Sound You Hear is Civilization Crashing

By Rich Kozlovich

One of my favorite movies is A Man for All Seasons, the Paul Scofield version, which I wish appeared more often.   This movie presents Sir Thomas More to be a man courage, knowledge, intelligence and impeccable logic, dealing with the issue of King Henry VIII and his abandonment of his wife in order to marry another who could provide a son and heir.  More was arrested and put on trial for treason.

During the trial Richard Rich, having sworn under oath to tell the truth, lied about Sir Thomas, a lie which condemned him. Although the outcome was predetermined this lie gave cover to justify the death sentence.

Sir Thomas More commented, "In good faith, Rich, I am sorrier for your perjury than my peril". As Rich was walking away from the witness stand, Sir Thomas says, "I have one question to ask the witness. That's a chain of office you are wearing. May I see it? The red dragon. What's this?" Cromwell replies, "Sir Richard is appointed Attorney-General for Wales". More says, "For Wales? Why, Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world . . . But for Wales!"

Thomas Cromwell was the chief enforcer for Henry VIII, and during his time England broke with the papacy and thus came one of the largest transfers of wealth in the history of England. The King, now the Supreme Head of the Church of England, transferred all the property belonging to the monasteries into his hands, which was about a third of all the land in England.”

When I see what passes for integrity in politics, I can't help but see Scofield in my mind saying, "But Richard, for Wales"! And I shake my head chuckle to myself.

Being a man for all seasons isn't for the faint of heart and it requires a strong moral foundation that's hard to maintain once in politics, assuming it was there in the first place.
Western civilization is crashing, and the leaders of the west are responsible, including the religious leaders of the main line churches, and Henry VIII's Anglican Church, which has been a far left bastion for many decades, is in the news big time now.

Churches across the West are twisting themselves into shapes no apostle would recognize — bending like pretzels to please a secular society. "They update doctrines, rewrite homilies, and water down long-held beliefs, all in hopes of attracting people who rarely show up anyway". And now the Church of England has chosen its new leader: Dame Sarah Mullally, "hailed as a “theological liberal” and celebrated for her progressive stances. But it raises a fair question: does the Archbishop believe in the Christianity she is meant to lead, or only in a softened imitation of it?"  Since it's clear they don't believe the Bible is God's word, perhaps they should be asked if they believe there is a God? If people are what they do, then their actions say ... no!

The Anglican Communion is now in schism, crashing over the woke ideology being embraced by the home church in England by their appointment of a woman as the Archbishop of Canterbury, a pro-choice feminist and a supporter of LGBT inclusion Here, Here, and Here as the Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans have excommunicated pro-LGBT clergy, including Archbishop of Canterbury. It's being claimed the Anglican Church could now lose 40 million members.

In Denver a minister of the First Baptist Church says abortion protects children's lives, and ya gotta read the demented rationale for yourself.   The left keeps using logical fallacies to try and make insanity seem rational. Conservatives are not so much pro-life, as they’re anti-abortion. There’s a difference between murdering the innocent unborn and executing guilty criminals who’ve committed murder.  Conservative support of the death penalty is in reality a pro-life position since they’re executing murders who’ve taken innocent lives, and if allowed to go free would continue to take innocent lives.

The United Methodist Church in Milwaukee describes itself as: “Jesus Rooted, Justice Centered, Radically Inclusive,” a Q Worship Collective describes them as “a church that is being recreated and reimagined by people who were historically denied access to traditional Christian leadership”, playing a lesbian love song for worship.

When Pope Francis died and Pope Leo XIV was installed there was a lot of discussion over whether or not he was an acolyte of Pope Francis.   It was my view he wouldn't have been chosen if he wasn't....and he is.

As you read my list of Pope Francis' actions and views, you will find Leo XIV and Francis are in total harmony. He's against deportation supporting open borders, irrespective of the human disaster open migration has caused in Europe.  Seems to think abortion is ok, but the death penalty is wrong, embraces all the far left environmental insanities, especially the mass scientific fraud of global warming by blessing a  block of ice.  Imagine that!  One writer asks, if people can remember when the concern of Popes was on saving souls and not blocks of ice.  But now he's gone a step farther.  He's put  a Muslim prayer room in the Vatican.  While some may view this as inclusion, Muslims view this as victory over their historical enemy, and one they still wish to destroy.

For the Pope to take such irrational positions shows he really is a Pope Francis acolyte, but let’s not kid ourselves, this is a pattern playing out all over the world with “Christian” church leaders like the new Archbishop of Canterbury, twisting Christianity into shapes neither Christ nor his apostles would recognize or approve of, in an attempt to appeal to people who don’t believe, won't support, and in point of fact hate Christianity.

Western civilization is predicated on Judaic/Christian values and principles, to which Islam is totally antithetical.  All around the western world these nation's leaders are destroying their cultures with immigration of Muslims who hate western civilization, who are not assimilating, and do not want to assimilate.   Immigrants that are mostly made up by single young men, with a penchant to violence, rape, murder, and theft, all acceptable to Islam against the infidel.
Years ago I predicted that at some point Europeans are going to revolt against these abuses, and that's now happening in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, and it will spread, it will grow, and if these elitist European run governments aren't kicked out the violence will grow and be almost impossible to contain.

This is Sharia.
  • Death toll from Islamists' terrorism surges past 52,500 - Since 2009, Islamists – including Boko Haram and outside terrorist groups such as ISIS – have killed at least 52,500 Christians and displaced another 5 million of them, while destroying some 18,000 churches and setting 2,200 schools ablaze, according to a 2023 report by the Nigeria-based International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law. ...................."Nigerian Christians are being targeted and executed for their faith by Islamist terrorist groups," Cruz said in a statement, "and are being forced to submit to sharia law and blasphemy laws across Nigeria.
  • Off the radar October 23, 2025 - Christians are being slaughtered like cattle in Nigeria, and they’re met with global indifference.
  • Spain Surrenders Christianity: Priest Faces 3 Years in Prison - Spain is preparing to make history—for all the wrong reasons. On October 1, 2025, Father Custodio Ballester, a priest of the Archdiocese of Barcelona, stood before the Provincial Court of Málaga, accused of committing a so-called “hate crime” for criticizing Islam. He now faces three years in prison and a period of eight years’ disqualification from teaching. If convicted, Ballester would become the first priest in modern Spain imprisoned simply for speaking the truth about Islam, while the very ideology that enslaved their ancestors for centuries, that still persecutes and murders Christians worldwide, is shielded from criticism by Spanish authorities.
  • Genocide Against Christians? That's Not News. - As we approach the second anniversary of Hamas mercilessly slaughtering 1,200 human beings on Oct. 7, 2023, our media remind us daily of the death toll of Palestinians, according to the "Gaza Health Ministry," which is run by Hamas...
  • It’s All about Sharia - At a time when America finds itself dealing with pro-terrorist rallies on college campuses, the U.S. government providing military arms and equipment to Islamic countries, and Americans deeply concerned about impending terrorist threats and Islamic law (sharia) being imposed and adjudicated in local communities, how does the average person come to understand these issues?  How can an effective solution be reached when few really seem to know what is going on? It is helpful to begin with the understanding that the Islamic world sees everything through the same lens.  That lens is sharia. In Islam, sharia — “Allah’s divine law” — is the blueprint for how to live.  It is what Islam seeks to impose on the Earth.......

What I find particularly interesting is as religious leaders are acting as if there's no God, more scientists are coming to the conclusion there's more than enough evidence to show there must be a God.

Imagine that!

Creation is Merely the Application of Science We Don't Understand

By Rich Kozlovich

On November 28, 2023, John Droz Jr.  published this piece, Critically Thinking: Big Bang or God? Which answer makes more scientific sense — or is it both?.  The article discussed, "the Texas State Board of Education took a refreshing stand against the Left indoctrination in our K-12 Science textbooks", dealing with creation. He outlines an exchange between he and another scientist who makes the statement:

That is a clear step backward because our efforts become linked to religious efforts, not scientific ones. Creationism is fine. It is just NOT science. Our efforts should be understood as 100% science and 0% religion.....

John is a physicist who is really big on "critical thinking", and understands the motto of science is supposed to be "de omnibus dubitandum", which is Latin for "everything must be questioned", and he does just that in his response saying:

The Texas Board of Education is doing what is consistent with Critical Thinking and Science. To be open to Creationism is not a religious effort, but rather an effort to consider possible alternatives to the Big Bang hypothesis plus the evolution hypothesis. Since neither the Big Bang hypothesis nor the evolution hypothesis are scientifically proven, students should be open to alternative explanations......

I've been in communication with John for some time, and he allows me to publish his work.  He goes on to point out the many weaknesses there is in science, such as the many things science can't answer simply scientists doesn't know.  Much is merely speculation, which is the beginning for any scientific endeavor, and those speculations are called hypotheses, and often there are multiple options to those speculations before one can outline a theory.  The article goes on quite a bit, but this is really the thrust of this discussion, with John  quoting a scientist friend:

"it is not necessarily an either/or question — as reality could be God and the Big Bang."

This article was followed by a great many comments, including me saying:

Thank you for sharing. I'm a believer, but I don't think that's unscientific. Here's my annual Shall Every Knee Bow article.  Jay Lehr called it brilliant, although he remained an atheist.

Editor's Note:  Jay Lehr was a scientist well known in the world of science, and a good friend with whom I had the privilege of co-authoring articles. RK

Unlike my religious friends, I don't see the Big Bang as an alternative to creation. The Bible says in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth, and we know the universe is billions of years old, including the Earth. The Bible also says God is not a God of disorder, and with what information we have available I see no reason not to accept the idea the Big Bang as the tool that started the whole process. Miracles are nothing more than the application of scientific principles we don’t know about and don’t understand.

I also see the six days of creation account a bit differently. The Biblical chronology for the seventh day indicates a seven-thousand-year cycle, and I’m willing to accept that, but why does that have to apply to the other six days? I consider that to be a logical fallacy, as there’s not one iota of Biblical evidence to support that.

Just because religious leaders refuse to accept alternative views doesn’t make those views wrong, nor do the alternative views touted by scientists make the creation account wrong.  The word “day” in the Bible is subjective, as an example, saying a thousand years for man is a day to God. So, under that circumstance should we view the word day to mean:

(1. A “period of time”, as in 365 days is a year, or

(2. A “time period”, as in an era meaning undefined “periods of time.”

I choose the second. All the Bible says at the end of each day there was an evening and a morning, a ____________ (fill in the blank) day. Why should we believe each of those days had any “period of time” in common?

Why shouldn’t we believe each of those days were undefined millions of years old? When looking at the rock formations I think it certainly shows amazingly long periods of time in order to have formed as they did.

The fact is I believe that science and the Bible agree, we just don't always realize it, understand it, or have the willingness and/or patience to find that harmony.  What we really have so very often are entrenched forces that will not see things farther, deeper, or wider, and refuse to accept anything except dogma, whether it's religious or secular.   The problem isn't in the facts, it's in a lack of clarity in ourselves.

A Scientific Misfire Gave Us 'Nebraska Man'

In the 1920s, an old tooth was misinterpreted in a very public way

By John Johnson, Jan 6, 2023

A Scientific Misfire Gave Us 'Nebraska Man'

An illustration of H. haroldcookii, by artist Amedee Forestier.   (Wikipedia)

For a while in the 1920s, it appeared that we'd be talking about "Nebraska Man" for generations as an evolutionary milestone. But as Madeline Bodin writes at Atavist, the name has since faded into obscurity for good reason—it was a very public scientific misfire. The saga began when a Nebraska rancher and geologist named Harold Cook found an ancient tooth in the earth. He suspected it might be that of an early human, or something close to it, and passed it along to one of the most prominent paleontologists of the day, Henry Fairfield Osborn of the American Museum of Natural History. Osborn declared that it was indeed a monumental find, asserting that the tooth belonged to the "first anthropoid ape of America." He trumpeted the discovery, but as it turns out, he was wrong.

A few years later, an Osborn colleague who worked on the initial study published a retraction in the journal Science and said the tooth actually belonged not to a primate but to a peccary, similar to a boar. Osborn accepted the new conclusion. Bodin's story recounts these details and adds the political context: At the time, Osborn was in the midst of a public debate with William Jennings Bryan, who viewed the idea of evolution as an affront to God. (The timing also dovetailed with the famous Scopes Monkey Trial, in which Bryan figured prominently.) "If Osborn hadn’t been so eager to confront Bryan with evidence of evolution found in Bryan’s own backyard, if Bryan hadn’t let Osborn get under his skin, and if the press hadn’t been so keen to amplify their feud, perhaps an American ape would be just another disproved idea, quietly shoved deep into science’s junk drawer," writes Bodin........

Seen from a clear vantage, the story of Nebraska Man is one of how science works: Claims are made, developments veer in unexpected directions, our understanding of the natural world lurches forward. But vanity, zeal, and misinformation complicate that view. Osborn wrote in a 1925 article, “Nature is full of lurking surprises.” So too is history, as the fate of Nebraska Man shows.  But vanity, zeal, and misinformation complicate that view...............   To Read More....

Stages of Sleep Explained: How Brain Hormones Control Your Sleep

January 27, 2020

Sleep is a state of decreased responsiveness to stimuli and reduced activity that can be easily reversed. Although we are unconscious during this activity, sleep is an important means for our bodies to recuperate, conserve energy, and form memories. There are four stages of sleep, which can be grouped into two broad categories: rapid eye movement (REM) and non-REM sleep. Non-REM sleep is subdivided into three stages. All four stages of sleep reoccur throughout the duration of the sleep cycle and each fulfills important functions.

Key Takeaways: Stages of Sleep

  • Sleep is comprised of four stages (N1, N2, N3 and REM) in two categories (non-REM and REM sleep).
  • The hypothalamus is the major driving force for wakefulness and sleep through circadian rhythm and sleep homeostasis.
  • Non-REM sleep is a progression from the lightest to the deepest stage of sleep with slowing of heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and muscle activity.
  • REM sleep is a more active stage of sleep associated with dreams and faster brain wave activity.
  • Tips for improving your sleep include setting a schedule, avoiding stimulating activities near bedtime, performing relaxation techniques before bed, and exercising regularly during the day.

My Take I've added some of this to my Shall Every Knee Bow annual piece saying:

I defy anyone to explain evolution and the existence of that amazing biological complexity known as the human four stage sleep cycle, requiring a fully developed brain, with fully developed harmonious chemistry.

The human sleep cycle requires use of "the thalamus, hypothalamus, basal forebrain, pineal gland, and portions of the brainstem", and requires "neurotransmitters GABA and adenosine, sunlight working in conjunction with the circadian clock, and "hormones such as glutamate, histamine, and orexin" as the chemistry to make it all work.  How could that all happen progressively?  So, how could anyone sleep if this system wasn't completely in place from the beginning?

Shall Every Knee Bow?

"Darwin’s theories are not, in the modern phrase, settled science. They aren’t even unsettled science. They are educated guesses at best. To be science, Wolfe reminds us, “There are five standard tests for a scientific hypothesis. Has anyone observed the phenomenon — in this case, Evolution — as it occurred and recorded it? Could other scientists replicate it? Could any of them come up with a set of facts that, if true, would contradict the theory? Could scientists make predictions based on it? Did it illuminate hitherto unknown or baffling areas of science? In the case of Evolution… well… no… no… no… no… and no.”' - Larry Thornberry on Tom Wolfe's, Kingdom of Speech

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, its presumed our thoughts turn to issues of faith, so for the last few years between Thanksgiving and Christmas I have published this article, and will continue to do so most years, with additions expanding on the logic and factual foundation.

One of the things that started this was an article I read where a science commentator stated - with great confidence - the Theory of Evolution was now bullet proof. Really? My personal motto is De Omnibus Dubitandum - Question Everything, and I think this is worth questioning. So, let's do that together!

There was an article I came across entitled, "Many atheist scientists take their kids to church”! The article went on to say:

“about one in five atheist scientists with children involve their families with religious institutions even if they do not agree with the teachings, according to a study done by Rice University and the University at Buffalo.” The article pointed out “The findings surrounding atheists shouldn't be too surprising, since the Pew Forum Religious Survey taken back in 2008 that showed 21 percent of self-described atheists responded that they believe in God.”
Does everyone really find this to be all that extraordinary? Anthropologists have noted that in every culture in the world, and in all of human history, religion has played an important role in people’s lives. There was one prominent atheist, Antony Flew, who claimed at the end of his life he was now a believer. Why? Is it true "there are no atheists in foxholes"? Of course the explanation was that he had lost his mind - yet even Albert Einstein, who was not a religious person in any sense and absolutely rejected the idea of a personal God, also rejected the idea of atheism.

For the believers among my readers the explanation is simple; we are designed to believe. For the non-believers among my readers the explanation is simple also. There is no other logical explanation!

The other thing that triggered this effort was a political debate on television where the moderator asked the Republican candidate, running for some office or other, if he believed in the Theory of Evolution. The candidate looked foolish because he was obviously flustered by the question, which clearly was the moderator’s goal.

The first thought from everyone should have been - why can’t any reasonably intelligent person answer this question intelligently? Yet many of those who profess to be believers would be equally flustered to provide a rational intellectual response in that situation. So let me help everyone!

Here is the answer and the correct response.

I wish to state categorically that I believe in the Theory of Evolution because that theory presents clear and incontrovertible scientific evidence there must be an Intelligent Designer!

Wow! I’m willing to bet that’s a shocker for many – on either side of the aisle -so let’s explore this.

For years I’ve been saying, “everything is the basics”. What's that mean? It means in order to understand anything we must explore the foundational thinking of what it is we’re trying to understand. If the foundation is flawed, then the entire structure of thinking that it’s built on is a false premise, and will collapse under scrutiny from its own weight - that is if we wish to really see the truth. And that is the crux of the matter isn’t it?

Believing takes on many forms. For some it has to do with a higher power. For others it can take on the worship of oneself, for others it can take on the worship of some philosophy or other; but humanity has the desire to look to some higher explanation for existence, and human existence in particular. But one thing seems clear, ‘believing’ is inherent to our genetic code. Otherwise how can anyone explain why so many have believed so much over so long a time of human history, and in so many different cultures?

Of course, the problem for the unbelievers among my readers with this explanation is that they would then have to explain how that genetic code was designed in that manner - or designed at all for that matter - if there is no higher power.

I do find it fascinating how some can believe that Intelligent Design is “a pig that won’t fly”! The design is so complicated that it defies explanation as to how infinitely small mutations over millions of years could bring us (and all else in the universe) to what now exists. Whether one disagrees or agrees with evolution, I question how anyone can say that there is no designer.

Some feel that an intelligent designer used evolution. Some feel evolution is a mistake constantly making more mistakes and changing everything all the time all by accident. I wonder how anyone can explain how this can happen by accident and develop successful organisms since "geneticists estimate that  99 out of 100 mutations are harmful, and about 20 out of the 99 are lethal."

Then there are those who [chap. 14] state there is so much “statistical data that they were at last able to confirm what they had suspected all along: Mutations were not 99 percent harmful to the DNA and the organism; they were 100 percent harmful! It was discovered that in EVERY instance, mutations caused some kind of damage—always! Out of it all, the researchers learned that DNA coding in the genes simply will not tolerate much change. More than just the slightest amount will ruin the code and the organism will be greatly weakened.”

According to the Theory of Evolution life started when electricity, in some form such as lightening, charged some molecules existing in a chemical rich ocean soup and thus became cellular life. Of course no one can explain where these mythical molecules came from or the chemical rich ocean. In point of fact - there is absolutely no evidence that this ever occurred, and there is no evidence that it can occur since no one has been able to duplicate this mythical event in a lab - ever.
"Abiogenesis is the idea of life originating from non-living material (non-life). This concept has expanded a great deal as mankind’s understanding of science has grown, but all forms of abiogenesis have one thing in common: they are all scientifically unsupportable."
"Modern ideas of abiogenesis can be very complex..........from deep-sea lava vents to meteoric impact sites and even radioactive beaches. In general, all modern theories of abiogenesis imagine some scenario in which natural conditions create, combine, and arrange molecules in such a way that they begin to self-replicate.
These theories vary widely as to the nature of these conditions, the complexity of the molecules, and so forth. All share at least one common factor: they are implausible to the point of impossibility, based on established science, including a DNA molecule which can’t form without a preexisting protein.  There is no “prototype first cell.”...........Life either had a natural origin (abiogenesis) or a supernatural origin (intelligent design).
They've been able to get molecules to group together, but it isn’t life! Especially since no one has ever been able to generate more than four of the twenty amino acids needed for life. These “cells” are all lacking in all the things that make life possible, including a DNA molecule which can’t form without a preexisting protein.

Paraphrasing the quote at the beginning regarding Darwinism, and in line with abiogenesis.
  • Has anyone observed the phenomenon — in this case, Evolution — as it occurred and recorded it?
  • Could other scientists replicate it?
  • Could any of them come up with a set of facts that,if true, would contradict the theory?
  • Could scientists make predictions based on it?
  • Did it illuminate hitherto unknown or baffling areas of science?

"In the case of abiogenesis… well… no… no… no… no… and no.”'

My friend Mike Shaw of Shaw’s Eco-Logic once commented:
"When I was at MIT I used to drive them nuts with this simple question: Where does the information whereby the transfer RNA is able to decode the Messenger RNA sequence into a protein come from? After all, there are enzymes (proteins) that help synthesize the DNA and RNA sequences into their particular coding, thus creating those enzymes, right? As such, we have an untenable case of circular logic. Somehow, the nucleic acids just seem to "know" the proper sequence of their nucleotides; or, the protein (enzyme) seems to "know" the proper sequencing."

Protein molecules are amazingly complex, and are absolutely necessary for life. Furthermore, in order for a cell to function it takes 2000 protein enzymes. If life started in the ocean in some chemical rich soup, through some accidental electrical discharge then how did that cell, or group of cells, survive long enough to replicate themselves? That's foundational!

Evolutionary thought would require millions of years of mutations before the next step to propagation would come into being. If that’s so - how did they replicate? If we are to believe what proponents of evolutionary theory claim, then we have to recognize that these mythical cells would have died within seconds, minutes or days, but they would have ceased to exist long before they could have reproduced. How do I know that?

Let's go back to the foundational question once again!

If life could only advance from active cells in the ocean in some chemical rich soup, which came into being as a result of some accidental electrical discharge; how did that cell, or group of cells, replicate themselves to become what we are all now through a series of mutations occurring over millions of years?

As we explore this we must realize there is a very serious crack in the foundation of their theory - and logic. When you think this out correctly the very foundation for the explanation propounded by scientists gets even more complicated and incomprehensible. If such an event really did take place, the first order of business would not be propagation - the first order of business would be survival!

Survival means that this mythical cell, or cells, would have already had an advanced biological system in place allowing them to recognize the need for nutrition. In order for any of this to occur the cells would have to be self aware to some extent, no matter to how small a degree, which in itself would require some sort of advanced design. Which leads to the next obvious question - “How does matter become conscious of itself?”

Then along with the ability recognize the need for nutrition, it would also have to be able to recognize what was nutritional and what was not. These mythical cells would then need a system for absorption, i.e., some way to eat! That would then require a digestive system, which would require an internal biological mechanism allowing the organism to recognize and separate that which was nutritional from what would become waste during the absorption process. Then the cells would require an energy storage and utilization system, and along with the ability to recognize what was food, it would have be about to recognize, or see, where it was.  Then it would need a form of locomotion to get to it - and finally - after all of that, this mythical organism would require a system for waste elimination.

Then and only then would propagation come into play!

That's a definition of a complex organism with advanced biological systems completely in tack and functioning together harmoniously from the very first second of its existence. What organism could possibly survive long enough without these advanced fundamental functions that would allow it to live long enough to propagate?

But then we come to the next crack in the "science" and logic of Evolution: How many millions of years of mutations would it take to allow for enough development to allow for propagation? Millions of years and millions of small mutations, all of which would have to be beneficial mutations. So what happened in those millions of years between origin and propagation?

Does it seem rational this could possibly occur if it takes millions of years of tiny mutations to create a next step in the developmental process as scientists claim? And - once again - we are expected to believe this came about as an accident after an electrical discharge of some sort?

Okay, let’s say, for the sake of argument, it did happen - it still means the organism had to have some seriously advanced biological functions to survive past a very short time. If that’s the case, and it clearly must be, then doesn’t that imply planning and design? Doesn’t planning and design require intelligence?

Do we really think these advanced systems could come into existence at once without some predetermined design?

Which brings me back to the beginning!

Evolutionally thought requires millions of years of mutations before any of these absolutely necessary biological systems would come into being before the organism could advance to the next step of propagation. So assuming these organism’s survived, we have to wonder how any organism could know which tiny mutations were beneficial, or even needed, over a million years or so, and decide to save them for a next step, which presumably was another accidentally mutation. The complexity of that kind of design would require some kind of organizational planning and implementation. With the rate of detrimental versus beneficial mutations it could not be accidental and still be beneficial!

Now let’s take a look at propagation!

Take a woman’s monthly cycle. It is amazingly complex! The right amount of chemicals, hormones and enzymes would have to come into play in exactly the right sequence of time in order to begin the cycle and finish the cycle. However, if a woman becomes pregnant during the cycle another whole set of chemical conditions would come into play. How could any organism know how to plan for two diametrically opposing end results?

Remembering that there are untold numbers of species in the world that have cycles unique unto themselves, that means that this would have to be done an incalculable number of times in an incalculable number of organisms and all be beneficial. One negative mutation would seemingly doom the organism. Yet, we are to believe that this happens through a series of positive accidents that would overcome all of these deadly accidents! Isn't that a form of belief, i.e. faith? It does seem to defy logic...or science as it were!

How would any organism know what chemicals to develop over millions of years? How did the organism know that hormones and enzymes were needed along with other chemicals? How would the organism know how to organize them? How did the organism know which chemicals would work harmoniously together and in conjunction with enzymes and hormones? How would these organisms know how to ‘create’ them?

And finally, how did the organism know what end result would follow without some sort of plan, and I defy anyone to explain evolution and the existence of that amazing biological complexity known as the human four stage sleep cycle, requiring a fully developed brain, with fully developed harmonious chemistry.

However, even with a design - how could incredibly small mutations be of value during the whole process of millions of years? In point of fact, it seems reasonable that these mutations would hinder continued existence, not enhance it. But even if you accept the idea of small changes over millions of years the question still remains  -  how could all of that come into being without intelligence behind it?

How could so many complex systems come into being all at once without some sort of design and an application of the design? Wouldn’t the presumption be that these cells already had an amazingly complex chemical make-up that would create an end result? If so, doesn’t that imply planning and design? Doesn’t planning and design require intelligence? And if these events actually did happen, and cells came into existence with all these complicated biological systems in place; what would you call it? Creation?

Dennis Prager wrote an article on June 18, 2013 titled, “Why Some Scientists Embrace the'Multiverse'”,  where-in he cites views held by prominent scientists regarding this universal complexity and just how fragile it is.

He quotes:

“Michael Turner, astrophysicist at the University of Chicago and Fermilab: "The precision is as if one could throw a dart across the entire universe and hit a bulls eye one millimeter in diameter on the other side."
"The really amazing thing is not that life on Earth is balanced on a knife-edge, but that the entire universe is balanced on a knife-edge and would be total chaos if any of the natural 'constants' were off even slightly." Paul Davies, professor of theoretical physics at Adelaide University
Steven Weinberg, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics, and an anti-religious agnostic, notes that "the existence of life of any kind seems to require a cancellation between different contributions to the vacuum energy, accurate to about 120 decimal places. This means that if the energies of the Big Bang were, in arbitrary units, not: 1 followed by 118 zeros…but instead: 1 followed by 118 zeros and a 1, there would be no life of any sort in the entire universe."
Dennis goes on to say:
“Unless one is a closed-minded atheist (there are open-minded atheists), it is not valid on a purely scientific basis to deny that the universe is improbably fine-tuned to create life, let alone intelligent life. Additionally, it is atheistic dogma, not science, to dismiss design as unscientific. The argument that science cannot suggest that intelligence comes from intelligence or design from an intelligent designer is simply a tautology. It is dogma masquerading as science.”
"The universe is far more massive and complex than previously thought. The observable universe boasts at least 10 times as many galaxies as originally estimated......This means that the cosmic census of galaxies, which has been conventionally pegged at around 100 to 200 billion, may be closer to a whopping two trillion individual galactic systems."....... “It boggles the mind that over 90 percent of the galaxies in the universe have yet to be studied".
Which brings me to what I consider a central point in our exploration of the Theory of Evolution.  Where and how did the theory really originate?

Darwin wasn't the originator of this theory, as one writer noted - "Darwin was primarily the enthusiastic collector of the ideas of others", and probably stole his theory from his grandfather Erasmus Darwin (1731-1802) who had "already had pretty much developed a full theory of evolution."

But it goes back much further to ancient Greece with Pythagoras, a searcher of enlightenment who traveled all over his known world. It's believed he was influenced by Hindu religious thinking and the transmigration of the soul - migrating from lower forms to higher forms. This pattern of thinking continued through the centuries to Darwin.
"The Hindus were Spinozas 2,000 years before the birth of Spinoza, Darwinians centuries before the birth of Darwin, and evolutionists many centuries before the doctrine of evolution had been accepted by the Huxleys of our time, and before any word like 'evolution' existed in any language of the world." - Sir M. Monier-Williams, Professor of Sanskrit, Oxford University
It appears the Theory of Evolution is hardly "bullet proof" and is in reality nothing more than a tenet of pagan religion, and an article of faith for non-believers.  Interesting dichotomy, don't you think?

I can understand anyone’s reason for not subscribing to any religious group. The sanguinary history of the world’s religions has not done much to inspire confidence over the course of human history. So I can understand someone being non-religious, and I can understand why someone would believe that there may be a higher power that doesn’t interfere in the lives of humanity. I can understand why people might not be sure and proclaim they're agnostic - although I consider that to be pragmatic atheism.

What I can’t understand is how anyone cannot believe there must be a planner behind this phenomenally complex reality we call - existence! And that's why I say I believe in the Theory of Evolution because it scientifically proves that there must be an Intelligent Designer! A Creator!

I will leave it to you to decide for yourself if there is a benevolent God. But there must be a creator.

That’s foundational!   That’s “the basics”!

Evolution update...."Spoken language doesn’t leave fossils’: Did human’s ability to speak arise in an instantaneous hominin mutation?

Editor's Note:  I've forgotten who said the quote below, but I think it may have been Thomas Wolfe in his book the Kingdom of Speech, and he shows Noam Chomsky isn't revered as much as this piece may suggest, and for good reason. At any rate, this quote didn't appear in the article belowRK

"After food, the greatest human need and human desire is meaning. Even more so than the ability to reason or even to speak, this is the great divide between human and animal. We share all other needs with the higher animal species and share many needs with some of the lower animal species. Like them, we need food, shelter and companionship. But, while human beings seek and need meaning more than anything except food (and companionship—but for human beings, companionship usually provides some meaning, and sometimes enough), no animal needs or seeks meaning. As an aside, this is one of the reasons I believe in God, the Creator. There is no evolutionary explanation for the need for meaning. Meaning is not a biological need."  - Unknown.

Legendary linguist Noam Chomsky is both revered and controversial. His ideas have helped found and frame modern cognitive science.

One of those ideas is the notion that a single gene mutation, perhaps prompting a rewiring in the brain yielding novel neural circuitry, gave rise to human language between 70,000 and 100,000 years ago.
“This controversial hypothesis leads to the conclusion that our modern language capacity emerged instantaneously in a single hominin individual who is an ancestor of all (modern) humans,” researchers Bart de Boer, Bill Thompson, Andrea Ravignani, and Cedric Boeck summarized in a new article published to the journal Scientific Reports.

That is quite a bold claim indeed, and many scientists have serious doubts about it.

“Chomsky’s contention has little or no genetic support,” University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Psychology Professor Frederick L. Coolidge wrote. “One gene does not suddenly cause hierarchically structured language.”

The researchers behind the new paper, all distinguished linguistics experts from preeminent institutions in Europe, also professed skepticism, but decided to grant all of Chomsky’s assumptions in his original hypothesis and examine it from the standpoint of evolutionary dynamics.

What is more likely, they asked, that a single, all-important language mutation sprung up and spread to all Homo sapiens over the course of 100,000 years, or that many, smaller mutations gave rise to human language over a vastly longer timespan?

Conducting many simulations informed by known variables of evolutionary dynamics with various population sizes and generational timespans, the authors found that it’s much more probable that language evolved through a gradual accumulation of many, smaller mutations, rather than one giant mutation as Chomsky proposes..........To Read More.....

By Rich Kozlovich

Let's deal with Abiogenesis, which is now the foundational of modern evolution thinking.

So to return to the quote at the beginning and paraphrasing it in terms of Abiogenesis:

  • Has anyone observed the phenomenon — in this case, abiogenesis - as it occurred and recorded it?
  • Could other scientists replicate it?
  • Could any of them come up with a set of facts that, if true, would contradict the theory?
  • Could scientists make predictions based on it?
  • Did it illuminate hitherto unknown or baffling areas of science? In the case of abiogenesis

… well… no… no… no… no… and no.”'

And finally, how did the organism know what end result would follow without some sort of plan?

Creation?

But What If Darwin Was Wrong?

By David Gelernter | August 23, 2019

Darwinian evolution is a brilliant and beautiful scientific theory. Once it was a daring guess. Today it is basic to the credo that defines the modern worldview. Accepting the theory as settled truth—no more subject to debate than the earth being round or the sky blue or force being mass times acceleration—certifies that you are devoutly orthodox in your scientific views; which in turn is an essential first step towards being taken seriously in any part of modern intellectual life.

But what if Darwin was wrong? ............

The advent of molecular biology made it possible to transform Darwinism into Neo-Darwinism. The new version explains (it doesn’t merely cite) natural variation, as the consequence of random change or mutation to the genetic information within cells that deal with reproduction. Those cells can pass genetic change onward to the next generation, thus changing—potentially—the future of the species and not just one individual’s career............

How to make proteins is our first question. Proteins are chains: linear sequences of atom-groups, each bonded to the next. A protein molecule is based on a chain of amino acids; 150 elements is a “modest-sized” chain; the average is 250. Each link is chosen, ordinarily, from one of 20 amino acids. A chain of amino acids is a polypeptide—“peptide” being the type of chemical bond that joins one amino acid to the next. But this chain is only the starting point: chemical forces among the links make parts of the chain twist themselves into helices; others straighten out, and then, sometimes, jackknife repeatedly, like a carpenter’s rule, into flat sheets. Then the whole assemblage folds itself up like a complex sheet of origami paper. And the actual 3-D shape of the resulting molecule is (as I have said) important.

Imagine a 150-element protein as a chain of 150 beads, each bead chosen from 20 varieties. But: only certain chains will work. Only certain bead combinations will form themselves into stable, useful, well-shaped proteins................Now at last we are ready to take Darwin out for a test drive. Starting with 150 links of gibberish, what are the chances that we can mutate our way to a useful new shape of protein? We can ask basically the same question in a more manageable way: what are the chances that a random 150-link sequence will create such a protein? Nonsense sequences are essentially random. Mutations are random. Make random changes to a random sequence and you get another random sequence. So, close your eyes, make 150 random choices from your 20 bead boxes and string up your beads in the order in which you chose them. What are the odds that you will come up with a useful new protein?.............To Read More.....

Gallup, Darwinism, and Scientism

August 5, 2019 By Bruce Walker

Gallup recently announced that forty percent of all Americans believe in creationism. A better storyline to its recent polling data might be that only one in five Americans believes in Darwinism, which was a wobbly theory when first proposed almost two centuries ago and which has become an increasingly improbable explanation for the origin of life and species during the last two hundred years. That would be a better storyline, but it is not the storyline presented by Gallup.

Darwinists are invariably the product of an educational system that has as little to do with free thought as the educational systems of Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. Groupthink, instead, is what these institutions create and nurture. There are no longer "schools of thought," but simply "settled science" and its detractors (those with free and thinking minds).

It is Darwinism, not its alternative theories, that is an intolerant system of blind faith that brooks no reconsideration, no conflicting scientific opinion, and no independent thought. This shows up not only in the purging of academicians who hold politically incorrect views in life sciences, which Ben Stein exposed in his 2008 documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, but in deliberate mischaracterization of the debates about the origin of life..........  To Read More

1,000 scientists go public with doubts on evolution

'Careful examination of the evidence of Darwinian theory should be encouraged'

WND

More than 1,000 highly influential scientists from around the world have gone on record with their doubts about Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.   They hail from institutions such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Tulane, Rice and Baylor, the National Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the British Museum and MIT’s Lincoln Library.

"We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life,” they say in a statement. “Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.”

The scientists include the best in molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, entomology, computational quantum chemistry, microbiology, psychiatry and behavioral sciences, astrophysics, marine biology, cellular biology, physics and astronomy, math, physics, geology and anthropology, according to Evolution News, an online publication of the Discovery Institute in Seattle, which promotes the theory of intelligent design.

The Discovery Institute first published its “Scientific Dissent from Darwinism” list in The New York Review of Books in 2001 to challenge “false” claims from PBS’ series “Evolution".............To Read More....
