If you don’t live in the once Golden state, you would assume most of its residents adore Governor Gavin “Hair Gel” Newsom and support the state’s communist tilt. Like many other blue states (such as Illinois, Massachusetts and New York), California has a strong Republican core—about 40 percent—but it’s never enough. Plus, the state’s CAGOP is RINO. They recently held their annual convention in Orange County. Some lowlights:
· CAGOP Chair Corrin Rankin (without board approval) approved paying her opera friend $10,000 to sing The Star-Spangled Banner at the Saturday night dinner. Ask yourself how many outstanding local singers would have been honored to sing our national anthem for free.
· The CAGOP’s keynote speaker at its Saturday night dinner was Texas RINO Rep. Dan Crenshaw. We thank Rep. Crenshaw for his service and sacrifice to our great nation, but he’s still a disappointment.
· A sampling of some of the resolutions that failed to pass. Also note, the CAGOP requires a quorum to pass, guaranteeing its overwhelming RINO leadership to maintain control.
- Resolution #6: “Resolution supporting President Donald J. Trump in his efforts to enforce Immigration Law.” 480 delegates voted to pass the resolution, but 543 voted against it.
- Resolution #11: “Resolution supporting President Donald J. Trump’s administration National Farm security action.” 390 delegates voted to pass the resolution, but 622 voted against it.
- Resolution #19: “Ensuring Election Integrity by REMOVING NON-CITIZENS from Voter Rolls.” While it passed 496 to 480, it went down to defeat because the CAGOP didn’t have a quorum. (How could the vote have even been this close?)
To some observers, the CAGOP is a subsidiary of the California Democrat Party. If you are in a blue state (maybe even a purple state), you can identify with this.
Stephen Frank wrote in his California Political News and Views:
“These resolutions were in support of the policies of President Trump. The Chair, Corrin Rankin asked the delegates to vote AGAINST all of them. In other words, the California Republican Party does NOT support the policies of President Trump. Neither does the California Democrat Party. Chair Rankin, in September,2023 at that convention voted AGAINST endorsing Trump for President—the Democrat Party of California also did not endorse Trump.”
