How’s that socialism working out for ya’, Venezuela? Apparently so poorly that even the New York Times notices.........At this point, Venezuela faces a massive preventable tragedy. The spectacular failure of socialism there, despite the world’s largest oil reserves, is all the proof anyone should need (note that the word socialism appears nowhere in the Times article). Unless Maduro leaves office and turns the country over to those who understand and want to help free markets thrive, there will be mass starvation, disease outbreak, and human suffering and death on a terrible
The fact that the normal bleeding hearts of the left are mostly silent on the tragedy of Venezuela’s embrace of socialism discredits them......Read more
My Take - Do you feel the Bern? Where are Hollywood's fellow travelers? Where's Sean Penn now?
Socialism is now and has always been a massive failure. They spout how they're going to bring utopia to the masses by stealing from the rich and the job creators and give it to the poor. But they fail to explain how this can continue when those people have been sucked dry and dystopia runs rampant throughout the nation. Dystopia for the masses, not the elitists running the country. Some of them are now worth billions and no one is asking - how did these people - who never had real jobs, never created anything, never invested in anything, never created businesses, never invented anything become so rich, when the rest of the nation is starving? The answer is simple. This is what always.....always..... happens when socialists become society's master.
Now....once again.....how did the Clintons become so rich?
I also remember when John Glenn was in the Sentate and in the second year of his second term he was declared one of the richest men in the Senate. Eight years earlier when he was first running he was only worth four to five hundred thousand dollars. A substantial amout of money in those days, but an understandable amout given his position as a world famous astronaut. But to become one of the richest men in the Senate in eight years? How did that happen? When did he invent? What business did he start? None that I know of. He was a hero on the public dole and then he became a politician on the public dole.....that's it as far as I can tell. Where did all that money come from?
John Glenn (Democrat of Ohio), was part of the Keating Five, along with John McCain, Alan Cranston (Democrat of California), Dennis DeConcini (Democrat of Arizona), and Donald W. Riegle, Jr. (Democrat of Michigan). All of whom sold their integrity, or fame and honor for Keatings money. All served out their terms but both Glenn and McCain survived re-election, which dishonors both Ohio and Arizona.
This is the problem when government becomes bigger than people, and now we have just under 10 million more government employees, at all levels of government, than are working in manufacturing.
We're going down a path of doom.
