The liberal media is waiting with bated breath to hear former FBI Director James Comey testify before Congress this week, but most unbiased observers have already acknowledged that they probably won’t hear anything new from Comey.
In fact, the most interesting aspect of his coming testimony is what we won’t be hearing. While Comey has agreed to testify before one committee he has refused to testify before another, citing his prerogative as a “private citizen.” The question is why would he testify before one committee but not the other? The reason that seems likeliest is that the questions awaiting him from each committee are quite different, and while he feels comfortable with the questions from the Senate Intelligence Committee (which is investigating the possibility of a Trump-Russia connection), he doesn’t appear to be ready to answer questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee (which would be looking into malfeasance in the intelligence community). It’s incredibly self serving and seems obviously designed to embarrass Trump without incriminating himself.
