Chicago: Woman shot shielding family from mob of thugs, daughter also hit

A mother shielding her children from a mob that had gathered outside her house was shot in the neck and one of her daughters shot in the torso Thursday night in the Burnside neighborhood.
The two were among at least six shot, one fatally, since Thursday morning.  The 41-year-old mother and her 19-year-old daughter were both taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said. The mother was shot in the neck and the daughter suffered three torso wounds and one leg wound.

“About 15” young men showed up to the family home in the 600 block of East 92nd Place about 5:50 p.m., a relative said.   The mother began to argue with the men, said Ruthie Patterson, who arrived just beore the shooting. My Take - What's missing from this article? The race of those committing this crime.  If they'd been white it would have been all over the national news.  But the Burnside neighborhood of Chicago is over 97% black.  Can we assume the assailants were black?  Can we assume the media deliberately left that out.  Nah.....that would imply a conspiracy....and we know there's no such thing as a conspiracy unless it's vast right wing conspiracy.
