AT&T takes shot at Google Fiber over broadband difficulties

AT and T took a shot at Google Fiber in a recent blog post on its website, accusing its rival broadband provider of “coming up with excuses for its shortcomings and learning curves.”.....

“[Google Fiber] will also no doubt continue to seek favoritism from government at every level,” Marsh wrote. “Just last week Google Fiber threatened the Nashville City Council that it would stop its fiber build if an ordinance Google Fiber drafted wasn’t passed. Instead of playing by the same rules as everyone else building infrastructure, Google Fiber demands special treatment and indeed in some places is getting it, unfairly.”

This is the VP of the same company that spent just shy of $64 million lobbying Congress to try to win the influence of federal lawmakers from 2012-15, just below Google’s $67.5 million and Comcast’s $66.3 million, as Watchdog.org reported Friday.

AT and T also recently got a guaranteed $3 billion in subsidies through the Federal Communication Commission’s Connect America program to expand broadband into rural areas over the next six years.......To Read More.....

My Take - If you look at the history of the phone companies.....all of them.... this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but it's still worth knowing since it's also clear Google is getting out of control....just like AT and T.
