“De Omnibus Dubitandum”

Everything we are told should bear some resemblance to what we see going on in reality!

Solar Company That Got Federal Loan and Was Touted by Obama Shuts Down
A California solar-panel manufacturer once touted by President Barack Obama as a beneficiary of his administration's economic policies -- and the recipient of a $535 million federal loan -- is laying off 1,100 workers and filing for bankruptcy.

My Take –In times past I have been accused of being against alternative energy. Ok….I accept! Alternative energy cannot survive without massive infusions of public money by way of huge tax breaks, grants or subsidies. All those so-called subsidies to “Big Oil” does not exist. They get tax breaks true….but these are the same breaks all businesses receive for the costs involved in doing business. However, the subsidies to “green” alternatives are actual subsidies. We need to get that! RK

Solar industry’s lead emissions
“Solar power is not all sunshine. It has a dark side—particularly in developing countries,” reports a University of Tennessee, Knoxville, engineering professor.
From the media release:

My Take – Where are the protesters? Awww….my bad…..I forgot. They have never had a very deep attachment to truth or consistency. However, Governor Moonbeam Jerry Brown of California says;
"Wind, solar opponents to be ‘crushed’. He makes it clear that he is not going to debate the value of wind and solar energy on the merits; he plans to impose it. He told an invitation-only audience at UCLA that: When local communities try to block installation of solar like they did in San Luis Obispo, we act to overcome the opposition. In Oakland I learned that some kind of opposition you have to crush. You can talk, but you have to move forward. Gov. Moonbeam urged the audience: Your job is to find the path through the thicket, and on the other side, the lion will lie down with the lamb and we’ll turn swords into plowshares.”
The left is always changing itself into an “angel of light”, but this is who and what they are, and the green movement is nothing more than the tip of the spear point of socialist central planning and population control. They are as insane as the leftist dictators of the 20th century….and those socialist dictators who remain. We really do need to get that!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently promised that the Obama administration would finally make a decision on whether or not to permit construction of a new pipeline that would deliver Canadian crude oil to the United States. The Keystone-XL pipeline would create jobs, provide a significant and stable new source of oil and give the economy a badly-needed shot in the arm. So, naturally, environmentalists are outraged by the plan….calling on the administration to stop the pipeline, which would eventually deliver over 800,000 barrels of crude per day to refineries in Texas. To put that in context, the United States currently consumes about 18,000,000 barrels per day of petroleum products, so 800,000 barrels is a substantial number……the crude that will flow through the pipeline originates in the tar sands of Alberta. It is “dirtier” (in the sense that it has more contaminants that must be removed) than “sweet” crude. Because it’s dirtier, environmentalists claim that refineries will pollute more when processing it.

Refineries are subject to a plethora of standards that limit the amount of pollutants they can release into the air and into the water. None of these standards is based on the type of crude oil that a refinery processes. The EPA does not care if a refinery is processing the sweetest crude available or if it’s processing crude so foul that it’s sometimes called “dinosaur dung” in the trade. The limits are the limits……. crude from the tar sands will be held to the same standards to which they have always been held. So rather than polluting more, refineries that process dirtier crude have to improve their processes in order to handle them and still meet pollution limits. This modernization process has already begun……..

A green jobs program in one of America's greenest cities is being called a bust 16 months after a $20 million federal grant to weatherize homes in Seattle ended up putting just 14 people to work in mostly administrative jobs and upgrading only three homes in the area. "The jobs are not there," Todd Myers, who wrote the book "Eco Fads," told Fox News. "So we're training people for jobs that don't exist.”

Spanish economist Gabriel Calzada caused the central economic planners' heads to explode in March 2009 when he released a study showing every "green job" the Spanish government was creating with its regime of open-ended subsidies was simultaneously devouring enough resources to create 2.2 jobs in Spain's private sector.   "Green jobs," the professor concluded, were economic losers, destroyers of wealth and productivity. What's worse, 70 percent of them were short-lived installation gigs, not long-term jobs at all.

The time has come, the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes, and ships,
and sealing wax Of cabbages and kings,
And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings.
