The Riots in Portland Started in Public School

July 31, 2020 By T.R. Clancy

Think of the rioting in Portland as our national Graduation Party.  The kids got permission to have an open house, and now it's all gotten out of hand(Except when a traditional open house get out of hand, the police still show up.)

Noneof this should come as a shock.  The nightly attacks on statues, on a federal courthouse, and on police are the proof of Solomon's injunction, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old[er], he will not depart from it." Solomon wanted children taught the fear of the Lord; but the principle applies no matter what you teach.

This is the moment that America's teacher's colleges, and the public-school systems fed by them, have been working toward since the 1960s. That's when the "education schools began conditioning teachers to peddle impossible social and economic theories to captive human sponges in K-12 classrooms," as described here by Chuck Rogér:
[T]he "evidence-free" education school theory of "social justice" alleges that minority children learn best when encouraged to embrace grievances against middle class whites. Social justice–indoctrinated teachers instill resentment in "non-dominant" (minority) children and guilt in "dominant" (white) children.Judging by the abundance of guilt-ridden white Americans, the tactic is working its magic well.
It's even worse if you've been to college........To Read More...

Victor Davis Hanson: America Has Chance To Save Itself Thanks to 3 Woke Industries That Just Suicided

Victor Davis Hansen July 30, 2020

Cultural suicide used to be a popular diagnosis of why things suddenly just quit. Historians such as Oswald Spengler and Arnold Toynbee cited social cannibalism to explain why once-successful states, institutions and cultures simply died off.  Their common explanation was that the arrogance of success ensures lethal consequences. Once elites became pampered and arrogant, they feel exempt from their ancestors’ respect for moral and spiritual laws like thrift, moderation and transcendence.

Take professional sports. Over the last century, professional football, basketball and baseball were racially integrated and adopted a uniform code of patriotic observance. The three leagues offered fans a pleasant respite from daily barroom politics.  As a result, by the 21st century, the NFL, NBA and MLB had become global multibillion-dollar enterprises.

Then hubris ensued.............Professional sports, universities and the motion picture industry all know that what they are doing is bad for business. But they still believe they are rich and powerful, and thus invulnerable. They also are ignorant of history and cannot be persuaded that they are destroying themselves..........To Read More....

Study: 111,000 Children Will Starve to Death Because of Economic Shutdowns

By Michael Austin July 28, 2020

The cure is becoming worse than the disease.  While public health organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization have applauded the many restrictive COVID-19 lockdowns that are preventing the disease’s spread, they have failed to point out the tremendous cost that such policies carry with them.

A new report from the United Nations published in the medical journal The Lancet estimates well over 100,000 children will starve to death in 2020 due to the economic fallout from the economic restrictions of the U.S. and other Western nations....... .To Read More....

War's Not the Answer! Well Then, What's the Question?

By Rich Kozlovich

At my age I've heard all the smarmy spin by the left there is, and I can still remember when the meme was, "War's not the answer." And of course they're right. That is of course if the issue involves who should put the top in the tooth paste tube. Or, who should cut the grass. Or, ..... well....you get the idea. But what if someone - let's call them barbarians - wants to have a war with you?  A real war?  The fact of the matter is war can be avoided on each and ever occasion it's presented.

Just surrender.

Of course you realize once you surrender, you're no longer allowed to spout stupid stuff, because barbarians are now in charge of your life. And since they think war really is the answer, no matter the question, you'll be required to support their wars, or be shot! Remember, barbarians really think war, which is killing, destruction and mayhem, is the answer.  Do you really think they'll care what you think?

So then, that bodes well the question:  Does anyone want to guess just how many "war isn't the answer snowflakes" will decide to be shot instead of going to war?

How about this.

Law enforcement isn't the answer to rioting, murder, rape and mayhem.  Okay, then what is the answer to rioters, rapists, murders, and marauders? Oh, wait....wait...... I know....I know!  Social workers! At least that's what's being touted.  Then there's the McCloskey case, where the neighbors signed a letter condemning their defense of their home saying:
"As the undersigned, we condemn the behavior of anyone who uses threats of violence, especially through the brandishing of firearms, to disrupt peaceful protest, whether it be in this neighborhood or anywhere in the United States," the letter reads. The residents wrote that they seek positive action and constructive dialogue to build a civil society."

Peaceful protest?  Really.  This was a gated community, and they violently destroyed the gate to enter, bringing in guns and threatened the lives and property of the McCloskey's.  How is that peaceful?  Also, what exactly does having a  "positive action plan with its constructive dialogue" mean?

How's this for "positive action plan with its constructive dialogue"?

https://danieljmitchell.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/gun-free-cartoon-2.jpg

Sounds great, but what if the barbarians don't want your positive action plan?  Remember they think war is the only action plan that works.  And what if they don't what to hear your dialogue?   Once, again, the barbarians think war is the answer, so when you raise the white flag to create a "positive action plan with its constructive dialogue", what makes you think the barbarians won't just kill you?

From their perspective, there's no problem, because war solves everything.

The nation's well-being is being fouled by "peaceful" leftist "demonstrators", who are burning down the buildings in major American cities, attacking and murdering police, raping and murdering civilians, pulling down statues of historical Americans and in effect starting an insurrection to overturn the government, and the Democrats think it's just fine, because "war isn't the answer", but defunding the police, giving misfits like Black Lives Matter and Antifa hundreds of millions of dollars, pandering to their every whim and enabling their treason is.  And they believe war really is the answer.

Does anyone besides me think that's just a little .... well.... stupid?  How about insane?

So that brings us to what is the question!  Here's the question being asked by the barbarians.

How can we destroy the American identity, the American culture, the American economy, overturn the Constitution and impose as socialist system to rule America controlling everyone's life, steal from the productive and reward the lazy and corrupt?
Apparently, for barbarians, war is the answer, and when there's a war between the barbarians and the wimps, the barbarians will win every time.

It appears that most journalists, Jerry Nadler and other Democrats need a lesson on the difference between the truth and myths

July 30, 2020 By Jack Hellner

There's a lot of talk being thrown around on the television and the print press, from Democratic pols, journalists, and other Democrats, about assorted 'myths' regarding race relations, COVID and whatnot.

Here are the definitions:
Myth: a widely held but false belief or idea.
Truth: that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality
Here are a few myths which most of the media and other Democrats present to the public as if they were true: To Read More

A few thoughts about AG Barr at the House

July 30, 2020 By Silvio Canto, Jr.

No need for Hollywood to do a modern version of Martin and Lewis' crazy movie titled Scared Stiff.  We saw a great version of it on TV yesterday.

Like most of you, I have a life and responsibilities and could not watch the entire "Barr at the House show." I caught most of it later thanks to video clips, social media messages and reading my favorite sources, such as John Hinderaker  who nailed it:

We are approaching a very weird election in which one of our major parties is taking a stand in favor of rioting, looting, arson, destruction of federal property, and violent attacks on law enforcement. The Democrats seem to think that this is a winning formula. If it is, our republic is doomed. While we may be in deep trouble, I don’t think we are that far gone yet.

One more thing: perhaps the only non-rhetorical question in today’s hearing came from Democratic Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell: “Do you commit to not release the Durham report before the election?” Barr’s answer: “No.” Obamagate is the reason why the Democrats undertook to demonize Attorney General Barr before he was even sworn in.

Yes, the Democrats were panicky defensive at the hearing. They fear the Durham Report and what indictments may be coming. I got the impression that many Democrats know that AG Barr has a surprise coming and they can't stand the suspense.............To Read More.....

Are Democrats beginning to worry that the riots are hurting them?

July 30, 2020 By Andrea Widburg

By May 27, a mere 48 hours after George Floyd died, hugely destructive riots started in Minneapolis. The riots quickly spread to other Democrat-run cities in America. The leftist establishment, whether in politics or the media, initially cheered it on.

The establishment has stopped cheering, though, for it realizes that Americans don’t like civil unrest. A new narrative is developing, one that tries to cast blame on white supremacists, rather than black and white Marxists.
Several cities have seen violence and property destruction for weeks now. Whether in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, or D.C., people ostensibly protesting to improve black lives have been torching cars and buildings, looting stores, tearing down monuments, assaulting police officers, blocking roads, dragging drivers out of cars, and murdering people.

helped drive the violence is the synergy of Antifa and Black Lives Matter. Antifa is an anarcho-Marxist umbrella organization that encourages violence aimed at destroying America from the inside to rebuild it as a utopian Marxist community. These people have the brainpower of chickens, but they have a feral intelligence for violence and a recklessness (perhaps drug- or alcohol-fueled?) that makes them quite dangerous.............To Read More....

Jews Need to Jexit from Democrat-Left Racist Poison

July 30, 2020 By Howard Sachs

I am a proud American.  I am also Jewish, and equally proud.  I'm particularly proud that Judaism gifted to the world the first anti-racist notion when it said all men are created in the image of God.  Black lives indeed matter to me as a true liberal (now called a conservative Republican).  They matter, as all lives matter in their essential humanness.  That means they matter deeply because each of us, from conception to death, is imbued with the spirit of God.  It also means that humans matter especially based on their humanness, their character, behavior, virtues, and values.  The essence of their being is not material.  It is certainly not the concentration of skin pigment, of oxidized tyrosine in their dermal cells.  Nor does the essence of their humanity come from hair texture, genital makeup, height, strength, portfolio size, where their grandpas immigrated from, shoe size, or their body mass indices.

The Democrat, the man of the left, disagrees.  Skin color is a defining characteristic of one's humanness.  Such a notion is the mark of a foul, pre-biblical, illiberal, and regressive ideology.  Such a view is tragically now rampant on our burning streets, in our classrooms, on our news feeds, on leftist blogs, in sports stadiums, and especially from the mouths of Democrat-leftist politicians.  Such a view is an existential threat to America.  Such racism should be repugnant to an American Jew's value system.

But the majority of my fellow Jews embrace this Democrat-leftist party — where, now, the only vestige of true systemic racism remains in America.  It's beyond shameful.  I don't know if it is willful ignorance or just sheer brainwashing from our media and schools that has so distorted the minds of so many good people.........

Our Democrat left inform us that citizens rioting, burning, and looting must not be held to basic standards of self-control and restraint because of skin shading. It's why Democrat-left mayors and governors have barred police from doing their job. The radical leftist Obama education department told our poor beleaguered teachers to cut out disciplining American kids disrupting our classrooms if their skin melanin levels are too high.

Just last week, leaders of the National Museum of African-American History, each a hardcore Democrat leftist, told the world that people with dark skin in America do not and should not embrace basic Western and American norms like self-reliance; rational, objective thought; delayed gratification; the nuclear family; progress; and respect for authority. Such values, they say, are inherent to people with low levels of skin pigmentation — white folks.

The Democrat-leftist leadership of the University of California have told the country that if a man says there is only one race — the human race — he is a racist. The implication is that there are two separate essences in humanity, black humans and white humans. Now topping the Holocaust-denying, Ukrainian Holodomor–denying, and Russia hoax–pushing New York Times list is the White Fragility book. John McWhorter, a professor and citizen with dark skin, noted in a recent op-ed that this book teaches us a whole new permutation of raw racism. It argues, he notes, the obnoxious and immoral notion that our humanness is intricately entwined with our melanin pigment levels.............To Read More

The Immigration Problem Is Worse Than You Think

July 30, 2020 By Andrew E. Harrod

America's "unchecked immigration is a threat to our ability to hold together as a people, our ability to maintain the Unum while honoring the Pluribus," writes Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) fellow Jerry Kammer.  His new book, Losing Control: How a Left-Right Coalition Blocked Immigration Reform and Provoked the Backlash that Elected Trump, insightfully documents America's complex, longstanding politics behind a modern immigration morass.

The Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Kammer notes that "while I favor clear limits and enforcement that is both humane and firm, I celebrate immigrants as a vital part of our national story."  Yet, like centrist-conservative commentators such as Reihan Salam, the son of Bangladeshi immigrants, and Andrew Sullivan, Kammer emphasizes that American national cohesion demands an immigration "pause."  Tellingly, after the landmark 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, America's immigrants grew from 9.6 million to about 47 million in 2020, while illegal alien, about 3.5 million in 1990, peaked in 2007 at 12.2 million........... Tick, Tick, Boom, Boom, Time's Up, Obama Goons?

By J.B. Shurk

Remember, remember!
This third of November,
The Democrats' Russian collusion plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Democrats' treason should ever be forgot!

There's something happening here.  People with titles are beginning to say out loud what people without titles have been saying for four years — that Barack Obama's FBI and CIA conspired to frame Donald Trump as an agent of Russia in order to spy on his campaign and then remove him from office. Attorney General Barr used the opportunity of being called in to testify before Jerry Nadler's House Judiciary Committee to state plainly that there were "grave abuses involved in the bogus 'Russiagate' scandal," and DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec has stated, "What happened to candidate Trump was one of the greatest political injustices in history."

Even Lindsey Graham, who has often seemed determined to use his chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee not to hold anybody accountable, is insisting that former members of Obama's administration will testify before the November election.

Perhaps U.S. attorney Durham will finally expose the corrupt origins of the Russia hoax in the weeks ahead, or perhaps the Department of Justice will prove conclusively that we have a two-tiered legal system, one for Democrats and their wards and one for everyone else.  Whatever happens, irreparable harm has been done to the country, and Trump voters will never again put faith in an FBI, CIA, or DOJ that could so easily abandon legal and ethical constraints in order to pursue partisan political objectives equivalent to a bureaucratic coup d'Ă©tat at the behest of a prior presidential administration............ Biden's Civil War

July 30, 2020 By William L. Gensert

A victorious President Biden will move from his Delaware basement to the cellar of the White House, where he will remain only to be seen by the public in prerecorded, televised “Messages to the People.”

The riots will stop. After which, the suspiciously trained, organized, and supplied “grassroots Antifa rioters” will be “unofficially” incorporated into the Biden administration as “Local Policy Councils” financed by leftist dark money and tasked to root out disobedience and dissent. Thereby, Jerry Nadler’s Antifa “myth” will be in a position to enforce the much needed “hope and change” Biden has said he wishes to bring back.

Despite a distinct lack of promise in his future, Joseph Biden is a man who makes many promises. There was, however, one promise he made in the Democratic debates that is suspiciously absent from his recent professions of intent.

Biden (or whoever is pulling his strings) will have full control of the legislative branch of government -- either by the Democrats keeping the House, and winning the Senate in 2020, or through persuasion by Local Policy Councils of certain Republican senators, congressmen, and their families -- which of course, corporate media will ignore. The filibuster will be eliminated to grease the path of progressive legislation.

He will spend the first two years consolidating control of Congress. The census redistricting, as modified by the Local Policy Councils and intimidated state legislatures, will ensure Democrat control of both houses of Congress by a landslide in the 2022 midterms. Perhaps, even securing the two-thirds of both Houses necessary for the elimination of the electoral college............. To Read More

Viewpoint: Pesticides on produce aren’t dangerous. Ignore the ‘Dirty Dozen’ and eat more fruits and veggies

| July 24, 2020

Full disclosure: I buy organic fruits & veggies. I also buy conventional fruits & veggies. For me, it depends on the time of year, the way the produce looks, which grocer or market I’m visiting, and price (those two-for-one berry deals are no joke!). At D2D, we also believe that feeding a growing population requires all kinds of safe, sustainable growing methods. We should have a choice and not be unnecessarily fearful of the food at the grocery store.

What's at Stake?

I f I told you that I only buy organic produce, you’d probably assume that I had the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) list of contaminated produce memorized for when I go shopping, right? And probably expound on the “horrors” of conventional farming, too. Some of you may not know what EWG is, but you’re probably familiar with their annual “Dirty Dozen” list showing which conventionally-farmed fruits and veggies have the most pesticide residue based on data from the USDA Pesticide Data Program. But should you really be afraid of these “Dirty Dozen” items?

EWG would give a big ‘yes’ to that one. But wouldn’t you do this, too, if your corporate donations came from Organic Valley, Earthbound Farms, Applegate Farms, and Stonyfield Farms? Hey, I kinda get it – they’d infuriate their stakeholders if they published information discouraging their products. But their report hurts our health and frankly, our sanity. And at a time when we need it most with COVID-19.............To Read More......

Face Mask—Don’t Leave Home Without It On Election Day

Meanwhile don’t leave home without your face mask on election day when you go out to vote. That way, smarmy Democrats can’t possibly steal your vote or Election 2020

By —— Bio and Archives--July 29, 2020

The best time to wear a Covid-19 face mask is to wear one on Election Day.  The Democrats and their running dogs in the mainstream and social media expecting a spike in the Coronavirus sometime closer to election day, are using the virus to frighten people from coming out to vote in person.  By that time they hope to have a 100 percent MAIL-IN VOTE in place.  Joe Biden’s 2020 Election coronation,  they’re convinced, is already in the bag for them.

Covid-19 is being used as a cover for a MAIL-IN VOTE—spearheaded by media-described “NON-PARTISAN” Michelle Obama

Getting it to that point was a piece of cake, a walk in the park. According to them—without your coming out to vote—it’s all over for that blankety-blank President Donald Trump.  Right, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?  But it’s not all over if millions of people show up at voting booths with the ‘expert-promised’ safety of a face mask............To Read More....

Riot du Nord – Eh?

What if Canada had a riot and no one came?

By —— Bio and Archives--July 29, 2029

Of course, most will appreciate that this is a variation on the late 1960s “What if they had a war and no one came?”. Well, America’s rage for an internal war against orderly society has not been happening in Canada. Despite Prime Minister Trudeau and his media going on about racial dissension, Canada has been spared the riots and property destruction seen in U.S. Democrat cities. Unable or unwilling to protect citizens, even police have been forced out of their premises.
While the scorn for orderly society prevails, that there have been no riots is not due to Canada’s habits of politeness. It is due the fact that Canada is already a fellow traveler on the global advance of authoritarian government................Canada’s key cities have not been trashed because there is little opposition to global authoritarian ambition.  It takes a lot of money and organization to have so many riots erupt so spontaneously. No sense wasting the effort in Canada where it is not needed........To Read More...

Canada’s Fiscal Policy Has Been Deteriorating Under Trudeau, even Before Coronavirus

July 28, 2020 by Dan Mitchell

Back in 2011, the Center for Freedom and Prosperity released this video citing four nations – Canada, Ireland, Slovakia, and New Zealand – that achieved very good results with multi-year periods of genuine spending restraint.

Today, let’s focus on what’s been happening with government spending in Canada. As explained in the video, America’s northern neighbor enjoyed a five-year period in the 1990s when government spending increased by an average of just 1 percent annually, with most of that progress occurring when the Liberal Party was in charge.

This fiscal probity – an example of my Golden Rule before I even invented the concept – paid big dividends. The overall burden of government spending, measured as a share of economic output, declined substantially. And because Canadian lawmakers dealt with the underlying problem of too much spending, that automatically solved the symptom of red ink. That’s the good news..........To Read More....

Democratic Socialism Doesn’t Work Any Better than Totalitarian Socialism

July 26, 2020 by Dan Mitchell

When I write about socialism, I often point out that there’s a difference between how economists define it (government ownershipcentral planning, and price controls) and how normal people define it (lots of taxes, redistribution, and intervention).

These definitions are blurry, of course, which is why I created a “socialism slide” to show how countries oftentimes are an odd mix of markets and government.

But one thing that isn’t blurry is the evidence on what works. Simply stated, there is less prosperity in nations with big government compared to nations with small government.

And it doesn’t matter whether socialism is the result of democracy or tyranny.

Kristian Niemietz is with the Institute of Economic Affairs in London. He explained for CapX that mixing democracy with socialism doesn’t fix anything.........To Read More....

George Floyd had ‘violent criminal history’: Minneapolis police union chief

By Kate Sheehy June 2, 2020

The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.

Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

Floyd died last week after a white cop kneeled on the 46-year-old black man’s neck for nearly 9 minutes, a shocking incident that was caught on video and is sparking widespread violent protests, including in New York City. Floyd had allegedly just tried to pass a phony $20 bill before he died.

“This terrorist movement that is currently occurring was a long time build up which dates back years,” Kroll said in his letter of the protests, adding that some of his city’s issues exist because Minneapolis leaders have been “minimizing the size of our police force and diverting funds to community activists with an anti-police agenda.

“Our chief requested 400 more officers and was flatly denied any. This is what led to this record breaking riot,” he said.

The union chief vowed that his organization would help the cop accused of killing Floyd, now-fired Officer Derek Chauvin, and three other officers who were at the scene and are being investigated.

“I’ve worked with the four defense attorneys that are representing each of our four terminated individuals under criminal investigation, in addition with our labor attorneys to fight for their jobs. They were terminated without due process,” Kroll wrote.

Is Racism Responsible for Today’s Black Problems?

| Jul 29, 2020 | | 10..........This Appeared Here....

I doubt whether any American would defend the police treatment of George Floyd that led to his death. But many Americans are supporting some of the responses to Floyd’s death — rioting, looting, wanton property destruction, assaults on police and other kinds of mayhem by both whites and blacks.

The pretense is that police conduct stands as the root of black problems. According to the NAACP, from 1882-1968, there were 3,446 black people lynched at the hands of whites. Today, being murdered by whites or policemen should be the least of black worries. In recent times, there is an average of 9,252 black-on-black murders every year. Over the past 35 years, that translates into nearly 324,000 blacks murdered at the hands of other blacks.

Only a tiny percentage of blacks are killed by police. For example, in Chicago this year, there were 414 homicides, with a total of 2,078 people shot. So far in 2020, three people have been killed by police and four were shot. Manhattan Institute scholar Heather Mac Donald reports that “a police officer is 181/2 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.” Crime is a major problem for many black communities, but how much of it can be attributed to causes such as institutional racism, systemic racism and white privilege?

The most devastating problem is the very weak black family structure. Less than a third of black children live in two-parent households and illegitimacy stands at 75%. The “legacy of slavery” is often blamed. Such an explanation turns out to be sheer nonsense when one examines black history. Even during slavery, where marriage was forbidden, most black children lived in biological two-parent families. Professor Herbert G. Gutman’s research in “The Black Family in Slavery and Freedom 1750-1925” found that in three-fourths of 19th-century slave families, all the children had the same mother and father. In New York City, in 1925, 85% of black households were two-parent. In fact, “Five in six children under the age of six lived with both parents.” During slavery and as late as 1920, a black teenage girl raising a child without a man present was a rarity.

An 1880 study of family structure in Philadelphia shows that three-quarters of all black families were nuclear families. There were only slight differences in family structure between racial groups. The percentages of nuclear families were: black (75.2%), Irish (82.2%), German (84.5%) and native white Americans (73.1%). Only one-quarter of black families were female-headed. Female-headed families among Irish, German and native white Americans averaged 11%. According to the 1938 Encyclopaedia of the Social Sciences, only 11% of black children and 3% of white children were born to unwed mothers. As Thomas Sowell reported: “Going back a hundred years, when blacks were just one generation out of slavery, we find that census data of that era showed that a slightly higher percentage of black adults had married than white adults. This fact remained true in every census from 1890 to 1940.”

The absence of a father in the home predisposes children, especially boys, to academic failure, criminal behavior and economic hardship, not to mention an intergenerational repeating of handicaps. If today’s weak family structure is a legacy of slavery, then the people who make such a claim must tell us how it has managed to skip nearly five generations to have an effect.

There are problems such as grossly poor education, economic stagnation and poverty that impact the black community heavily. I would like someone to explain how tearing down statues of Christopher Columbus, Thomas Jefferson and Confederate generals help the black cause. Destruction of symbols of American history might help relieve the frustrations of all those white college students and their professors frustrated by the 2016 election of President Donald Trump. Problems that black people face give white leftists cover for their anti-American agenda.

Patriots Break Down Social Media Barrier

By —— Bio and Archives--July 28, 2020

Mark Monday, July 27, 2020 as a Red Letter Day for world masses living in fear of the China Coronavirus!  It goes down as a day that muzzled doctors and their masked patients will never forget.
Doctors, including Dr. Dan Erickson, owner of Accelerated Urgent Care, converged on Capitol Hill to let a locked down public know that “99.8 percent of people get through this (the virus) with little to no progressive or significant disease.”

Physicians in yesterday’s Breitbart-dubbed ”White Coat Summit” let it be known that hydroxychloroquine works. (Spectator, July 27, 20)

Dr. Erickson shone much needed light on Coronavirus stats:
“A case is a person, healthy, that tested positive. The vast majority. But the public hears cases and thinks, ‘Oh my goodness. These are sick people!’ No the vast majority — 99.8 percent of people get through this with little to no progressive or significant disease,” Erickson said. (Breitbart News, July 28, 2020)
“The focus should not center on cases, he continued. Rather, the narrative should focus on hospitalizations and deaths that “are appropriately coded on a death certificate,” he said, stressing “appropriately coded.”
“This is the first time I’ve seen quarantining healthy,” he continued. “I don’t know if you guys think that’s normal. I find that very strange.”
Even more than passing strange is that a media and politician-hyped pandemic that locked down entire nations, grinding their economies to a halt, was the result of a worldwide pandemic where “99.8 percent of people get through with little to no progressive or significant disease.”...... Fox News Viewers: ‘You Can’t Handle The Truth’

By —— Bio and Archives--July 25, 2020

Too bad the good people of Portland, Oregon, worried about the violence in their city,  can’t simply cut away from it the way Fox News did today. But they can’t because the violence that’s taken over their home city has been playing out for the better part of almost two months and is getting worse.

Marxism in the Classroom, Riots in the Streets

By —— Bio and Archives--July 24, 2020

The explosion of lawless rioting on American streets was only a matter of time. Sixty-two years ago, former FBI agent W. Cleon Skousen wrote “The Naked Communist” to warn Americans about how communists planned to destroy our system from within, not by means of sudden revolution as envisioned by Karl Marx, but through a version of Italian communist Antonio Gramsci’s “cultural Marxism.” With a nod to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its People’s Liberation Army (PLA), it has been a “long march through the institutions” that has brought us to the brink of catastrophe—and much of it began in our schools.

Chapter 13 of Skousen’s book lists 45 goals of communism in America. Number 17 reads: “Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of the teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.” And so they did. While American parents were busy working to sustain their families and achieve a piece of the American dream, their children were at schools with teachers and textbooks that taught them to hate America, the Judeo-Christian foundations of our national identity, and the remarkable individuals who built this country on the principles of the Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and more.........To Read More....

Unhyphenated American Lloyd Marcus is gone—but the Trump Train He Created Rides On

By —— Bio and Archives--July 25, 2020

'The Man in the Black Hat' served his country well, calling out for its protection even on his last day among us. Canadian Valerie Price, his biggest fan north of the border and I will dry our tears and pray for the Creator to comfort Mary in her heartbreak and grief. Compare Original '45 Goals Of Communism' To Modern Woke Crusade

Modern "Race War Radicals" Follow Well Worn Path to Revolution

By —— Bio and Archives--July 26, 2020 @ Canada Free Press

Have you ever wondered what the precursors to the current goals of protesters and radicals demanding defunding police departments across America? Also, their crazed goals to pull down all historic statutes – even Mt Rushmore? And as US Reps AOC and Ilhan Omar demand destruction of capitalism, haven’t you wondered where such unhinged and universally disastrous ideas came from?
Well, there’s an actual source for such catastrophic, ruinous policies…World Communism. And on Thursday, January 10, 1963, a list of 45 Communist Goals were offered for the record that were argued to help take over USA. These were read into the Congressional Record, taken from a book called “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen.

Ten Examples of Communist Goals Come to Life

1. Normalize Revolt
Number 42 states, “Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use to solve economic, political or social problems.” Both Seattle’s Mayor Durkan and NY’s Bill Deblasio heavily praised the George Floyd “protests,” as well as virtually all Democrat politicians and many entertainers.

2. Cancel the Police
In number 38, the list states: “Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies.” Defunding the police will be addressed by having non-violent crimes be dealt with by mental health workers. This is the stated goal of Antifa and current demand of BLM, now being applied in Milwaukee and Seattle. But where did canceling police departments come from? USSR Communists. Claims one Marxist site: “The police are the first line of the “bodies of armed men” intended to defend interests of the ruling class. If their real function was to stop crime, they’d arrest every capitalist on the planet, as these are the true criminals and their regime the real source of all crime.”

3. Dismember the Family
In number 40, the list states: “Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.” Destruction of the nuclear family has already occurred and the impact has been catastrophic. Single family households are the chief cause of US poverty while fatherless kids are at a huge disadvantage in life. But a fatherless household also struggles more to teach children about authority and male-female roles within the home.

4. Infiltrate Schools With Leftism
Number 17 states: “Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.” This goal has been achieved with spectacular success. In 40% of universities, no Republicans are on faculty. The result is brainwashing of kids and the understandable take-away that only socialism is intellectually defensible. Says a 2019 article, “An ex-Communist Romania-born academic recently left his tenured position at Columbia University because the Ivy League school is “on its way toward full blown communism.”

5. Pervert the Press
In number 20, it states “Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.” The bias of American journalism is an established fact. Only 5% of Trump stories were positive. Or as Reason Magazine states: When It Comes to Covering Trump, NY Times Has Abandoned Any Distinction Between Reporting and Opinion.

6. Media Blockade of Trump
Number 21 states, “Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.” Of course, the angry leftism of actors, celebrities, TV anchors and other media workers is legendary. In fact, when MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd claimed his network lacked bias, hilarity resulted.

7. Demolish the Founders
Number 30 states, “Discredit the American Founding Fathers.” Needless to say, when the Founders are roundly dismissed as racist slave-owners, and many protesters demand Mt Rushmore be demolished, the Founders are under fire – even though they wrote the Constitution!
8. Condemn the American Experiment
Number 31 states, “Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history.” It’s now a given protesters completely condemn every aspect of America as being racist, greedy, and just plain evil, which many now accept as fact.

9. Big Business Now Woke
Number 37 states, “Infiltrate and gain control of big business.” One of the most surprising developments is capitalist businesses now promoting socialist leftist themes as Corporate Advocacy.

10. Cancel the Constitution
Number 29 states, “Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate.” It’s become a truism in leftist circles that many elements of the Constitution like Amendment 1., Free Speech and Amendment 2., Gun Rights, must be canceled. Also, 3. the Electoral College!

CONCLUSION

Let’s admit while Marxists, like Black Lives Matter and Antifa are highly predictable, they are also extremely committed to their goals. They have also achieved many which must have seemed crazy to the people of the 1960s. That’s why we must be even more devoted to our response to extirpate, root and branch, Marxism in America, or face conservative extinction, right here and right now!

How China's Regime Weaponized an Entire Society to ‘Eradicate’ Falun Gong

By —— Bio and Archives--July 24, 2020

Beijing’s coverup of the coronavirus outbreak, its heavy-handed tactics in Hong Kong, and what some are calling a genocide of the Uyghurs have forced many people to awaken to the chilling realities of the Chinese Communist Party.  But practitioners of Falun Gong have faced this every day, since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese regime banned Falun Gong and sought to “eradicate” the popular spiritual practice.

For the past 21 years, practitioners have been demonized, tortured, and even had their organs forcibly extracted.

In this episode, we sit down with Crystal Chen, a Falun Gong practitioner and torture survivor, and Levi Browde, the executive director of the Falun Dafa Information Center. Their stories and insights offer a window into the threat China’s ruling regime poses to not just Hong Kongers and the Chinese people, but also to the rest of the world......... To Read More.....

The Bridge Is OUT

University of North Carolina, Wilmington professor Mike Adams was found dead inside his home Thursday. I know that many of you are wondering, “Who was Mike Adams?” To me, he was most ‘notorious’ simply for the fact that he was not shy about sharing his conservative beliefs with anyone who cared to listen. Besides being a columnist, he would Tweet real controversial stuff such as:
“Abortion intentionally kills an innocent human being.”
Oh, and here is another one that will just blow your mind…
“Rioters don’t care about social issues. They are thugs looking for an opportunity to break the law with impunity.”
How dare he say such things!?!! Well, for starters, it’s because they are TRUE. A lot of Americans still look at trendy political correctness as an ongoing muzzle and dare to anyone who would openly proclaim THE TRUTH............I could spend a whole article lauding and applauding the late Professor Adams............To Read More....

My Take - Mike Adams committed suicide. In times past I exchanged e-mails with him and linked his articles often.  I'm sorry to see this happen and wonder what drove him to this. It seems out of character, but who knows.

Attorney General Barr Scorches Democrats

By -- Front Page Mag—— Bio and Archives--July 29, 2020

U.S. Attorney General William Barr gave congressional Democrats a much-deserved dressing down for endlessly excusing the orgy of violence in cities across America that has followed the wrongful death of George Floyd in Minneapolis May 25 at the hands of police.  The Democratic Party officially endorsed Black Lives Matter in 2015 and has all but endorsed Antifa, the purported anti-fascists who embrace fascistic tactics in the name of combating fascism, a term they define promiscuously. President Donald Trump has vowed to designate Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.

”...........Industrial-grade mortar fireworks have reportedly been fired at police officers and federal agents, and on July 27 a bomb was detonated at the federal courthouse in Portland.  “The most serious injury to an officer to date occurred when a protester wielding a two-pound sledgehammer struck an officer in the head and shoulder when the officer tried to prevent the protester from breaking down a door to the Hatfield Courthouse,”.............. injuries were “broken bones, hearing damage, eye damage, a dislocated shoulder, sprains, strains, and contusions.”..........agents have been burned by fireworks and a “caustic substance.”........

Democrats, he told the Democrat-run House Judiciary Committee July 28, have refused to condemn the various assaults on the courthouse and on police guarding it. And they have also accused President Trump of sending federal police to Portland as agents provocateurs and an invading federal army. They claim that Trump is using federal agents as props to assist him in his ongoing bid for reelection..............

“What makes me concerned for the country is, this is the first time in my memory that the leaders of one of our great two political parties, the Democratic Party, are not coming out and condemning mob violence and the attack on federal courts,”...............“Federal courts are under attack. Since when is it okay to burn down a federal court?”......... some of the weapons the rioters have used to attack the courthouse and federal officers: “rifles, explosives, knives, saws, sledgehammers, tasers, slingshots, rocks, bricks, lasers …”  “You have missed some things but that’s a good list,”.........He added, “powerful slingshots with ball bearings” and the use of “lasers to blind the marshals.” He also said rioters have started fires at the courthouse and “when the marshals come out to try to deal with the fire, they’re assaulted.”............

“Whether it is sugarcoating their behavior as mostly peaceful or [House Judiciary Committee Chairman] Jerry Nadler saying Antifa is a myth. Remember [U.S. Rep.] Eric Swalwell said he’s never heard of antifa. Remember the governor of Washington refused to even acknowledge that CHAZ [occupation in Seattle] existed at first. There’s a pattern here.”.........To Read More...

Foreign Companies are Interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election

- @ Sultan Knish Blog

If you have Dove soap or Axe deodorant in your bathroom, Lipton tea or Breyers in your kitchen, you're buying Unilever products. The huge British-Dutch multinational made $60 billion last year and is known for its leftist politics. But Unilever may have gone beyond virtue signaling to election interference.

Unilever is one of the biggest foreign companies to join the Facebook boycott by leftist pressure groups.

The boycott’s goal is to suppress conservative speech on social media, especially by President Trump, before a presidential election, by convincing advertisers to withhold ads from Facebook until it complies. While Facebook already censors conservatives, it isn’t enough to satisfy the radicals running the boycott.

Rashad Robinson, the president of Color of Change, one of the leaders of the boycott made that clear in an editorial titled, "Will Zuckerberg dump Trump, or continue to serve him?"

"Facebook also loves its advertisers, and they are increasingly joining the boycott," he boasted. "So who will Zuckerberg choose?"

In an interview with the New York Times, Robinson emphasized that this was about the election.

"Honestly, there is an election and I need to get them to enforce the policies on the books before the fall. I need them to have some real rules around elections and voter suppression posts that actually will apply to Trump and other politicians so he doesn’t do anything dangerous on Election Day or before."

Robinson's examples of the kind of speech by President Trump that he wanted to pressure Facebook into censoring included, "claiming victory early".

The #StopHateForProfit campaign promoted by Color of Change, a radical leftist group, is blatant election interference. And it’s backed by huge foreign multinationals who are interfering in our election.

Unilever's own boycott post blatantly referenced the election, stating, "there is much more to be done, especially in the areas of divisiveness and hate speech during this polarized election period in the U.S".

A huge foreign company was pressuring Facebook to interfere in America's presidential election.

And it wasn't alone.

The Body Shop, a British company, also explicitly framed its boycott around the election, complaining that, "when we see the current dialogue in the US around anti-racism and equality, we continue to be concerned by the spread of hateful content and disinformation online, and the potential for this to affect the democratic right of Americans to have access to fair and balanced elections this fall."

Should foreign companies be allowed to intervene in an American election? Especially when that election has a potential impact on their bottom line?

Diageo, a British liquor company whose brands include Guinness, Johnnie Walker, Seagram’s, Captain Morgan, Smirnoff, and many others, announced that it would participate in the Facebook boycott while, continuing “to discuss with media partners how they will deal with unacceptable content."

The Trump administration has been considering new tariffs on European products from the UK, France, and Germany. The foreign firms joining the Facebook election interference boycott are primarily from these three countries. And, As Bloomberg noted, Diageo is one of the companies at risk if Trump strikes.

As is Pernod Ricard, the French company behind Absolut, Beefeater, Glenlivet, and Jameson, and which is also participating in the Facebook election interference boycott.

Some of the foreign companies that joined the #StopHateForProfit election interference campaign have direct or indirect financial interests that have been affected by Trump’s pro-American trade policies.

Honda had announced, “American Honda is withholding its advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We choose to stand with people united against hate and racism.” American Honda is just a subsidiary of the Japanese company. Its CEO, Shinji Aoyama, formerly headed the Asian Honda Motor Co.

The Japanese automaker has a direct financial stake in President Trump’s defeat.

The Trump administration had declared that car imports "threaten to impair the national security of the United States", and threatened to impose potential tariffs of 25%. After a trade deal, it appears that the Section 232 tariffs won't be imposed, but Honda's leadership is aware of the threat. And the Japanese company would be a lot safer if Trump were out of office. So would a lot of foreign companies.

Playstation, a Sony product, has announced its support for the #StopHateForProfit campaign. Another Japanese company, Konica Minolta, has also been listed as participating in the boycott.

Japanese companies should not be interfering in the next American presidential election.

Neither should German companies, especially those with a Nazi past, be lecturing Americans on racism.

Volkswagen, founded as a Nazi state-owned project dictated by Hitler which used slave labor during the war, issued an ultimatum, “Hate speech, discriminating comments and posts containing dangerous false information must not be published uncommented and must have consequences.”

That probably sounded a little less threatening and bellicose in the original German.

Much like Honda, Volkswagen has a stake in Trump’s defeat. President Trump has threatened to slap tariffs on European cars unless the EU drops its tariffs on American lobsters. A 25% tariff on European vehicles would add $10,000 to the cost of every car and hit German car companies really hard.

While VW is calling for “consequences”, the German company may be worrying about consequences.

Adidas and Puma, rival German companies founded by Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, members of the Nazi Party and suppliers to the Hitler Youth, who signed their letters Heil Hitler, joined the boycott.

Puma claimed to be, "part of an overall effort to create positive change and improvement in Facebook's platform by demanding the removal of inaccurate, hostile and harmful conversation," while Adidas called for, "a cosmopolitan and safe environment." VW and Puma had mentioned false or inaccurate comments which are euphemisms for censoring conservative political speech on social media.

Adidas and Puma neglected to sign off with the traditional “Heil Hitler” signature of their founders.

Foreign companies should not be joining a call by American leftist organizations to censor speech.

Henkel, the German company behind Persil, Dial, and Loctite, another former Nazi company that used slave labor, declared that it, "stands for tolerance, diversity and respect", and that it also expects "this attitude from all of our business partners around the world” as its reason for joining the boycott.

Next time you buy some Dial soap, think about where the German company really wants to stick it.

But it’s not just German companies.

The Lego Group, the Danish politically correct toy corporation, jumped on board the boycott, calling for an, "inclusive digital environment free from hate speech, discrimination and misinformation."

Lululemon, a Canadian company which got its name because its founder thought it would be funny to have Japanese people try to say it, and who endorsed child labor, claimed that it was, "actively engaging with Facebook to seek meaningful change." Perhaps it should start engaging with itself instead.

The Facebook ad boycott is election interference and while it’s bad enough that major American companies like Verizon, Best Buy, Target, and Starbucks are participating in this effort to silence their political opponents, foreign companies joining the election interference boycott is unacceptable.

While Democrats have been clamoring about foreign election interference, the participation of foreign companies in a boycott meant to silence Republicans, has their universal approval and support.

"We share the concerns of companies who are speaking up about Facebook's inaction around making meaningful changes that protects our democracy," Biden's spokesman said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi went further, boosting the boycott even before it was officially announced.

“Advertisers have tremendous leverage,” she sneered. “I would say to them, know your power.”

Her comments, which came a day before the official election interference boycott, strongly suggest that she had early knowledge and may have been coordinating with the activists involved. The big question was whether Pelosi knew that the activists intended to involve foreign companies in their campaign.

If Pelosi knew, then the highest-ranking elected Democrat official was encouraging foreign election interference. And she should be held accountable for it just the way she wanted Trump to be.

It’s time for Republicans to start asking questions about the foreign election interference campaign.

Whatever Pelosi knew or didn’t know then, everyone now knows that foreign companies are participating in a campaign to shut down President Trump and his political supporters. This disturbing campaign of election interference has not been condemned by Democrats, only praised by them.

A foreign oligarchy has intervened in the 2020 election. The security of our political system must be protected by taking on this foreign election interference by foreign companies, some of whom may hope to profit from President Trump’s defeat, by sanctioning them for their attack on our system.

Any Democrats, who have demanded action against foreign election interference, but block sanctions on those companies should be held accountable for their complicity in foreign election interference.

Decoding Howard Zinn’s Dark Vision of America

With the surplus of Zinn disciples running wild today, it may be that he would have simply blended in among the crowd.

In the course of a career that spanned over 50 years, one man seized the mantle of the accepted voice of critical history for the revisionist Left: Howard Zinn. His book A People’s History of the United States sought to teach young readers to see America from the perspective of the disadvantaged. What resulted was a cynical judgment of the United States as a wasteland that victimizes women, blacks, Indians and anyone who is not rich and white.

As new racial radicals seek to purge America’s culture clean through riots and renamings, I spoke with Mary Grabar, author of Debunking Howard Zinn, about the many ways it seems Zinn’s dystopian designs on America are being carried out just 10 years after his death.

Born in Brooklyn in 1922 to poor Jewish parents from Austria and Russia, Zinn eventually served Europe in the U.S. Army Air Corps (precursor to the USAF) in World War II. Notwithstanding his hostility to fascism, he was against the war at first. Witnessing the aerial bombings of France was his stated motivation for his lifelong pacifism and his public image as an unaffiliated radical.

As our discussion developed, however, Grabar was adamant that Zinn’s seeming disinclination to affiliate stemmed from his having something to conceal—namely what ex-Communist historian Ron Radosh of the Hudson Institute alleged were activities on behalf of the Communist Party USA that are documented in Zinn’s FBI file

In 1949, the Bureau’s New York office ordered an index card prepared for Zinn on the basis of him telling an undercover agent that he attended CPUSA meetings five times a week in Brooklyn. Zinn was also an employee of the American Labor Party, a New York-based political party largely dominated by Communists. The previous year, the ALP had been behind the electoral coalition that supported pro-Soviet former Vice President Henry A. Wallace for president against incumbent Harry Truman. This parallels today’s infiltration of the Democratic Party by members of the Democratic Socialists of America.

When I read Grabar’s critical review of Zinn’s life and book last year, I had already observed that Zinn’s objective wasn’t education but rather the mental conditioning of grade-schoolers into angry avengers of the past sins of America. But for a while I allowed myself to think that the effects of this process, while undoubtedly demoralizing and damaging to the overall image of America among the youth, had only a limited effect on their actual behavior. It’s clear that I was wrong.

As Grabar’s book clearly shows, much of A People’s History depends on misrepresentation of contemporaneous sources and the application of moral and ethical standards decades or even centuries ahead of the subjects being examined. According to Grabar, this was simply a cynical ploy—using moralism in order to promote communism.

I asked Grabar why Zinn focused so obsessively on the life and purported crimes of Cristopher Columbus. She informed me that A People’s History was one of the first textbooks to reach back and start the story of America’s history with Columbus, and explained: “Howard Zinn’s goal is to present the United States as being something that is illegitimate . . . So you have to go back to the man—to the discoverer—who throughout our long tradition has been credited with setting things in motion.”
By this logic, since the United States as the fruit of Columbus’ discovery is supposed to be viewed as poisonous, Zinn’s focus was on portraying the Genoese explorer as a genocidal monster.

According to Grabar, this perspective relies exclusively on the viewpoint of BartolomĂ© de las Casas, a Spanish priest and later bishop of Chiapas in what is now modern-day Mexico. But Las Casas arrived in Hispaniola (modern Haiti and Dominican Republic) only after Columbus had been sacked and returned to Spain. He participated in many of the slave raids on the island that he would later blame Columbus for, and only changed his attitude toward the conquest of the Americas for Christianity after his experiences in the subjugation of Cuba.

Another angle ignored by Zinn and highlighted by Grabar was the Christian perspective that colored Las Casas’ protestations against the conquest of Indian peoples. His reports back to the Spanish crown in Madrid led to a theological showdown on slavery and the mission of Christianity with a Franciscan rival, Fr. Juan de Sepulveda, known as the Valladolid debates. Zinn excluded Las Casas’ own evolution, the fact that his opinion of Columbus was second hand, as well as the Catholic religious motivation for his criticism, creating a completely distorted judgment rather than the nuanced critique that A People’s History is supposed to be.

Dancing in the Ruins

What would Howard Zinn think about the present state of America in 2020? In light of recent riots in Minneapolis and Portland, and the subsequent decision by city governments and unruly mobs to remove the statues of historical figures like Columbus, Thomas Jefferson, and Confederate officers, I asked Grabar if he would be pleased or would rather have seen the monuments stand as a reminder.
“This was his goal,” she said. “To wipe out all reminders of a previous life.”

As I would later discover, the Zinn Education Project, which promoted his books during his life and continues his legacy today, also highlights the 2004 film Monumental Myths which attacked historical landmarks and monuments including Mount Rushmore due to its association with the sculptor Gutzon Borglum, a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Zinn is one of the featured commentators in the film. Ironically, Borglum would later deny membership in the Klan in an exercise of self-preservation similar to Zinn’s own denials regarding the CPUSA.

Spelman, an Atlanta Affair

Not all of Debunking Howard Zinn relates to his version of history; his character is explored as well.
In 1956, Zinn was hired to teach at Spelman College, an all-black women’s college in Atlanta, just as the civil rights movement was heating up. Zinn’s radical views, according to Grabar, were likely unknown to the administration of the small conservative Christian school at the time.

Zinn clashed with college president Dr. Albert Manley, the first black president of the school and a Jamaican immigrant, who wanted to maintain the decorum and Christian discipline of the Baptist institution. Manley would have Zinn dismissed in 1963 for insubordination.

Hidden from public view, however, was the threat of a moral charge against Zinn due to an affair that Zinn was having with a student. This allegation is also supported by the gay-rights activist and historian Martin Duberman in his 2012 biography Howard Zinn: A Life on the Left, which criticizes Zinn for not including the LGBT movement in A People’s History

Zinn destroyed his personal archives in 2008, meaning that it may never be confirmed whether he was indeed guilty of misconduct with the Spelman College student.

I asked Grabar how Zinn would have been received by today’s feminists. “I don’t know if he would have done too well with the #MeToo movement,” she said. “He had a reputation for going after students and also having a number of affairs. He even confided in his daughter when she was in her mid-20s about an affair and [how] he was thinking of leaving his wife . . . I don’t know if he would have gotten away with it. But that’s just part of his character. He was a man who really had no scruples.”

Howie Don’t TERF

In one of the chapters of A People’s History, Howard Zinn attacks American colonials and settlers for their oppressive and dismissive treatment of their women. But in the decade since his death, gender politics have become complicated by the rise of intersectional feminism which validates the idea of male-to-female transsexuals as women. I asked Grabar another speculative question about whether Zinn would have sided with the intersectional side, or rather with their adversaries the so-called Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists.

She was surprisingly decisive: “Anything that tears apart our society, the family structure, Zinn would be for. His concern for women’s rights—that has nothing to do with actual women—is to abolish the family.”

The irony of this perspective, hypothetical of course, is that Zinn’s chapter on feminism quotes from Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I a Woman” speech, a runaway slave who had her right to raise her family denied by her slavemaster.

The simplistic and judgmental tone of Howard Zinn’s work is echoed in the the New York Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning, critically acclaimed “1619 Project.” Grabar is researching but still has not seen evidence that its author Nikole Hannah-Jones is a Zinn disciple. She did note, however, that like Hannah-Jones, Zinn distorted evidence as he saw fit.

Examples of such historical errors were Zinn’s citation of the Holocaust denier David Irving’s inflated casualty numbers from the Dresden bombing as well as his distortion of MIT historian and Vietcong expert Douglas Pike’s reports of atrocities in Vietnam.

In parting, I asked Grabar how Zinn would be behaving in today’s environment. “He would be leading the mob. He glorified violence,” she answered. But with the surplus of Zinn disciples running wild today, it may be that he would have simply blended in among the crowd.

Minneapolis Residents Agreed Not to Call the Cops, Then the Rapes Began

Daniel Greenfield  July 26, 2020 @ Sultan Knish Blog

Last month, the New York Times brought its readers the heartwarming story of the Powderhorn neighborhood in Minneapolis whose residents had decided not to call the police.

"If you are a comfortable white person asking to dismantle the police I invite you to reflect: are you willing to stick with it?" Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender had demanded. "Will you be calling in three months to ask about garage break-ins? Are you willing to dismantle white supremacy in all systems, including a new system?"

Powderhorn residents had taken that message to heart and refused to call the police.

A few days later, a “juvenile” girl was assaulted. The Associated Press reported that, “the people who took the victim to the hospital did not call police.”

By July, the encampment had grown to 800 people and 3 sexual assaults.

The oppressive system of “white supremacy” was being dismantled one rape at a time.

The Powderhorn Park encampment really took off when the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board of Commissioners declared that the city's parks were now "sanctuaries" for anyone who wanted to live in them. The resolution cited Governor Walz's declaration of a "peacetime emergency" which banned removing homeless people from anywhere they wanted to be.

Since then, 38 more Minneapolis parks have been turned into tent cities, and of these, Powderhorn Park is the worst. The park version of CHAZ began with the Black Lives Matter riots after George Floyd’s death when the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel was taken over, renamed the Sanctuary Hotel, and filled with homeless vagrants by lefty activists.

"This is a means of land repatriation. This is a means of addressing historic deep disparities," one of the lefty activists declared.

The Sheraton was being repatriated from its Indian-American owner by indigenous white lefties and the minority hotel owner had been “confronted with the alternative of evacuating his hotel and having it possibly burned down.”

The lefties quickly grew bored or frightened as the former Sheraton was overrun with “rampant drug use and sales”, piles of garbage and overdoses. There were fights, drug deals, and even a fire in one room. The hotel was cleared and the encampments headed to Powderhorn.

So did the drug dealing, the overdoses, the violence, and the sexual assaults.

Two girls and one woman have been assaulted. But an activist insisted that rapes, “can happen in any park."

And two underage girls being assaulted in a park can happen at any time. So can a man tracking down a woman, after previously assaulting her because he thought she was hiding heroin from him, and groping her while pointing a knife at her. And fights with crowbars and hatchets can break out at any time, in any park, once you get rid of the police.

But, even though it reinforced white supremacy, someone called 911. This wasn’t that unusual, because 911 calls had tripled.

Despite Lisa Bender, some people weren’t checking their privilege and were calling the cops. And the park police were dealing with "assaults with blunt objects, a fentanyl overdose, and someone being chased by others with guns and baseball bats."

Those are the sorts of things that could happen in any park… occupied by junkies.

Minneapolis officials have been steadily denying that dumping hundreds of vagrants in the park could possibly lead to crime.

“When we talk about crimes that happen here, these are not new crimes,” Minneapolis Park Board Commissioner AK Hassan insisted. As a Somali immigrant, he claimed that he won't vote to evict anyone. “Let’s not find excuses.”

Hassan, a Rep. Ilhan Omar ally, had praised the vote to defund the police as an "opportunity to reimagine how we approach public safety, not only for our city but the entire country."

The reimagining is underway in Powderhorn Park.

"It feels like something really bad is about to happen every second of the day. And you don't know what it is. And so every explosion, whether it's a firework or a gunshot or someone screaming or whatever, you just - I feel chest pain constantly now," Angelina Roslik, a local resident who works as a waitress, told NPR.

Minneapolis’ Democrat leaders have reimagined public safety as utter terror.

“When you have two juvenile females raped, an adult female raped, domestic violence with a knife and the suspect has an arrest warrant for sexual assault, you have a problem in that park," a former Minneapolis police officer noted.

In response to the spiraling violence at Powderhorn Park, Commissioner Londel French urged people to get to know the vagrants and junkies. “There are some real issues about sanctuary, and I think the way we fix those issues are by having conversations with not only the neighbors and homeowners who live around Powderhorn, but some of the residents of the sanctuary and come up with some solutions to some of the issues that we’re having.”

These hypothetical conversations could involve the drug dealing, prostitution, needles, stolen cars, bodily fluids, and other benefits of having a homeless encampment next door.

French, a Bernie Sanders supporter, had run for office, vowing that he would use the Park Police to test out “new ideas for how policing can engage our communities. Specifically, I will work to ensure that the Minneapolis Park Police to use methods of restorative justice.”

It’s unclear how much the two raped girls are benefiting from French’s restorative justice.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board had voted to cut ties with the Minneapolis Police Department, and banned Park Police from responding to non-violent police calls. It began designing a new green uniform for park cops even as it turned the parks into violent hellholes.

And the 33 officers of the Park Police, who don't have their new green uniforms yet, are in charge of the crisis. But 33 officers are no match for hundreds of junkies and criminals.

In one day, the Park Police dealt with a sexual assault and a fight over a stolen bicycle that was nearly settled with a hatchet. Another day saw a fight with a crowbar over a tent.

“The Park Board has a small enough police force that we can actually make some real change,” French had vowed. “If we don’t do it the right way, our communities burn.”

The change is here.

A park bench in Powderhorn Park had already been set on fire. Twice.

A Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board report noted that that, "MPRB staff are encountering unsafe situations in the evening with locking up the bathrooms" and the portable restroom provider announced that it wants police to be there when its employees service the bathrooms because "encampment residents are going through their vehicles."

If the lefty activists want to defund the police, they’ll have to be the ones fixing the toilets.

Not that it matters because the reports also mentioned high concentrations of “biohazards”.

You too can experience the brave new future of public safety. Just stop by Powderhorn Park. Try not to step on the needles, don’t make eye contact with the junkies, and be ready to run.

And remember, it’s not just public safety in Minneapolis that the Democrats are reimagining.

As Hassan said, it’s public safety in America.
