In fact, the way certain Republicans act toward Trump as the presumptive nominee is startlingly similar to the climactic showdown in Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice. They treat Trump like the aristocrat Lady Catherine de Bourgh treats Elizabeth Bennett when she hears a rumor that her nephew Darcy is engaged to Bennett.
