The Endangered
Species Pyramid Scheme
I don’t know whether
to laugh or cry. I don’t know who is more to be pitied; your paper for
publishing a government racket as being legitimate or your readers that
actually read about such an outright raid on our Treasury and Rights, and
consider it seriously. Your Local item from “Northern Minnesota” titled “2
groups call for federal moose protection” under the Endangered Species Act is
so outrageous that if I didn’t laugh I would have to cry.
First, the federal
government declared wolves “endangered” and the state went along. Then the
wolves increased and surprising to all but Isle Royale visitors, moose decrease
due to wolf predation . Then the state is “allowed” (by benevolent federal
bureaucrats) to “manage” wolves, but are soon stopped by environmental radicals
in league with the federal bureaucrats, from managing Minnesota wolves at all.
Moose continue to decline while the DNR begs for millions of dollars to
investigate everything from ticks and global warming to “unspecified” diseases
to determine why moose are disappearing; all the while “knowing” (how?) and
assuring us it is not wolf predation, despite the Isle Royale model just
offshore in Lake Superior.
So now the feds
(always hungry for another “species” to save); the DNR (that has folded like a
cheap suit ever since a perfectly healthy Minnesota wolf population was seized
by the feds); and the environmental radical racketeers that caused this
moose/wolf contretemps to begin with, all combine to propose spending more
money we don’t have to restrict more rural activity in the midst of an economic
slump to “List” moose in a collapse that they created and sustain. Further, if
we no longer hunt moose; what does it matter if their range and population is
less than when we hunted them? Does anyone seriously believe that “listing”
moose and establishing federal authority and radical environmental philosophies
over the moose (a Ponzi Scheme of the first order) will ever result in resumed
hunting?
The truth is the
moose will continue to decrease and stay decreased as long as they are
collocated with robust wolf populations. Cut the wolves by 75% and keep them at
low densities and the moose will stabilize and begin to increase. What your
paper and these “groups” advocate is what I used to call “Romance” Biology and
now identify as simply criminal conspiracy to defraud Americans of money we
don’t have and Rights that all men should fight to keep.
