Quotable Quote

"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts." - Sherlock Holmes, "A Scandal in Bohemia" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Editor's Note: There's another quote by someone unknown I particularly enjoy, and it fits here.   "In earlier times, they had no statistics, and so they had to fall back on lies."   See, nothing changes! Except now statistics allow for more convincing lies.
