So far, every for-profit enterprise started by Al Sharpton and known to National Review Online has been shut down in at least one jurisdiction for failure to pay taxes, a review of public records in New York and Delaware reveals. Records show that Sharpton's beleaguered for-profit entities often overlap and intertwine, some sharing ties with the reverend's nonprofit organization, National Action Network. Their financial records are copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre, and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants. My Take - Ok, just because he doesn't have the money to
pay these tax bills I still wonder - why isn't he in jail? If this was one time
maybe they would overlook this and work something out. But he's never paid any
of these taxes. Is this is normal treatment for a tax cheat? They again
Treasury Secretary Timothy Franz Geithner and Congressman Charles Bernard
"Charlie" Rangel had compliance problems too. I found it interesting they only had to pay
what was owed....no fines.....just the tax.
Why? “Because it was just a
mistake!” Wow! Must
be a special section in the tax code that covers that.....Right?
I have the answer to avoid this whole mess. Let's repeal
the 16th amendment, dump the IRS and pass a national sales tax with no
exemptions. Everyone has skin in the game - everyone who buys anything has to pay
their taxes. Problem solved and we can save billions by dumping the IRS. They
are an expensive lot! And I have some misgivings about their integrity. Then again, perhaps I being just a leeeetle bit paranoid? Let's think about that for a minute......Nah.....their history - especially their latest history - makes it clear they're part of the problem, and in no way part of the solution. Repeal he 16th and dump the IRS. It will be interesting to see just how many of these people can actaully find a job in accounting since I'm told IRS accountants graduate at the bottom of the class.
