The Senate Conservatives Fund website shows that 1.2 million people have signed a pledge to defund the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare. But a number of top Republicans apparently have refused to sign the pledge, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Sens. John McCain (Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (S.C.).
No Republicans, in either the Senate or the
House, voted to pass Obamacare, which became law in March 2010. The senators’ website, which also features a
stopwatch counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the end of
the fiscal year and a proposed continuing resolution to keep the government
funded – names the 11 Republican Senators who "won't pledge" to sign
the petition.
Aside from McConnell, McCain, and Graham,
the other Republican Senators who "won't pledge" to sign are Richard
Shelby (Ala.), Roy Blunt (Mo.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), Jeff
Flake (Ariz.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Bob Corker (Tenn.) and Orin Hatch
(Utah).- See more at:
