Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is seen as a likely Republican presidential candidate in 2016, but his unflinching commitment to the Common Core standards experiment is souring many GOP voters on his campaign even before it officially begins. Turning off potential supporters is a risk Bush seems willing to take…….She concludes by urging readers to “follow the money” trail that exists between Bush and the companies who stand to profit from Common Core. As blistering as Malkin’s criticism is, it’s only a foretaste of what Bush can expect, if and when he formally announces his presidential aspirations…..Read more at
My Take – The nation has been confused by the Bush’s forever. They all sound like conservatives and act like progressives. Why? From the founding of the Bush family fortune, which has some interesting and disturbing twists regarding Prescott Bush during WWII - much of which is still classified - the Bush family has a big business mentality. Big business isn’t conservative, unless being conservative helps the bottom line. But that can change on a dime. Because big business loves the concept of statism. That’s where the money is and that’s how they manage to keep competition down, through higher taxes, more laws and more regulations. The Bush’s see reality through that prism! That’s what confuses everyone…. “The vision thing!”
Many years ago I read a book about Robert the Bruce, King
of Scotland, and in that book they made the point that the nobility of Europe,
who were all related to some extent, had more in common with each other than
they did they people they ruled. King of
England, Richard I “The Lion Heart” Plantagenet, didn’t even speak English, he
spoke French. It is my contention that the
world’s “big business” families are much the same.
It isn’t so much they are ‘statists’, but ‘corporatists”,
which thrusts them in the ‘statist’ family, albeit when it suits their needs
they are just as happy to turn on true ‘statists’. In short, big business loves adopting any
philosophy that will enhance their bottom line.
In many ways they’re worse than
politicians, because they allow economics to determine their morality, and that can change on a dime too.
