DOT Plans to ‘Enhance the Quality of Life’ by Reducing ‘Car-Dependent’ Development

Creating "livable communities" is one of five objectives for the U.S. Department of Transportation, as it updates its 2014-2018 strategic plan.  The draft plan, released this week, notes that President Obama "has made place-based policy a key component of his domestic agenda." And as part of that agenda, DOT says it will "enhance quality of life in all communities" by spending taxpayer dollars on transportation projects that discourage "car-dependent, dispersed development."

"U.S. transportation investments over the last 50 years have often been poorly coordinated with other investments such as housing and commercial development," the plan says. "These development patterns have provided many American families of all income levels with unprecedented choices in where they can live, and the ability to own a single-family home. However, the reliance on car-dependent, dispersed development is not without costs."

My Take – So….what is their point?  People shouldn’t be allowed to make their own lifestyle choices?  People making their own choices are anathema to every leftist and so every leftist policy is aimed at ending those choices.  That is central to everything they do. 

Of course we should be happy about that….Right?  After all; we all know that leftist bureaucrats can make far better choices for you that you can yourself…..Right? 

There is one thing that puzzles me though.  If they came from among all of us, why would we think they know so much better than the rest of us what is appropriate?  Is it possible there really aren’t from this planet?  And is it possible these aliens are ensconced in the world’s governmental bureaucracies?  Wow!  Just think how badly infested the EU must be.  

That must be why they care so little for humanity.  Their aliens!  If that’s the case it must explain why the leftist’s governments of the 20^th century killed over 100 million innocent people in the last century.  It’s part of an alien invasion!

Nah….I don’t really believe that.  The reality is they’re just stupid, arrogant, hateful, vicious and .....they must truly be insane if they really believe wasting the taxpayers money on these stupid projects is for our own good.
