Conservatives: Just Nazis inside, screaming to get out?

During a pleasant lunch with a liberal couple, I praised Sarah Palin. After a moment of stunned silence, the lady said, "Well, I'm not surprised if you deny the Holocaust. Do you?" Stifling my anger, I said, "Why on Earth do you ask that?" "Well, that's the next step," she snorted. "All of you hard-right extremists and evangelists are about to go farther down the path of Hitler. How do you sleep at night? "That's most insulting and ignorant question I have ever heard," I tried to explain. "Conservatism in this country is about personal freedom, and that's the direct opposite of totalitarianism, where the government owns everything – including you. The next step for us would be a Libertarian, not a Fascist. The man chimed in. "She's not talking about you; it's just the lunatic fringe, the wacko birds."...... I barely heard the man whisper to his wife as they left, "Where did we go wrong? I thought he was our friend."

My Take - When is everyone going to learn - liberals are friends to no one, including those they claim they are so hot to support. Liberals are leftists. Leftists are opportunists. Opportunists will take advantage of any new philosophical flavor of the day in order to gain power to control everyone's life, and just as readily abandon those positions when they do attain power, that's history, that's irrefutable. Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Fidel Castro showed the world what leftism is really all about, but leftists like Bernie Sanders ignores the reality of history and still spews out the same nonsense that destroyed those countries. These so-called "liberals" within the community are often times highly educated but totally indoctrinated with the latest leftist propaganda - unable to think outside that box of leftist constraint because being part of this "morally superior" group is more important to them than being right. The truth is they're nothing more that ignorant fellow travelers. These are the ones Stalin called "useful idiots", who he would have purge whenever he or his ilk take power. Talking to them is like spitting into the wind. Abandon any hope of reasoning with them - just defeat them! That way they stop talking to you and life will become less aggravating because you will no longer have to wonder - How can anyone be this stupid?
