Take a look at the difference between Mizzou and Purdue University (run by Mitch Daniels) in 2015. What happened at the University of Missouri last fall could have happened at any major state university save perhaps one: Purdue. In that I live in Missouri (and have a wife on the faculty) and in that I got my Ph.D. from Purdue, I have had a front row seat to this entirely predictable saga. If, six months ago, you asked the University of Missouri curators which major state university was most likely to melt down, not a one of them would have said, "Mizzou!" According to Glenn Whipp, Hollywood is concerned that the Oscars will be "too white" this year:
The academy found itself on the defensive last year when white actors earned all 20 of the nominations in the lead and supporting categories. The topic came to define the Academy Awards so much that host Neil Patrick Harris opened the ceremony by quipping: "Tonight we honor Hollywood's best and whitest. Sorry, brightest." Yet there's a strong chance this year's acting awards will once again be heavily, perhaps exclusively, white, despite the efforts of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to diversify the organization.Does anyone complain that most NBA players are black? The Black Lives Matter activists were out this morning harassing unsuspecting patrons at Dove’s Diner on Wicker Road in Chicago. They believe these acts of abuse will garner them sympathy from the general public.

Being a music teacher and being insufficiently aware of every trend in music around the world is now a microaggression. At least according to one particularly special snowflake at Syracuse University. During a “listening session” at Syracuse that allowed students essentially to vent about what they perceived as racial and social injustice at the university, one student stood up to describe her tale of woe.
