Don't be surprised if President Obama has an emotional attachment to that Neil Diamond/Barbra Streisand song, "You don't bring me flowers anymore."
A month ago, we were surprised that Cuba's Raúl Castro did not greet President Obama at the airport. After all, they told us it was historic. It had not happened since President Coolidge visited Cuba in the late 1920s. Castro would have been the second leader in Cuban history to greet a U.S. president on Cuban soil. However, he stayed home doing something rather than showing up to make history. Maybe a pirated copy of The Mambo Kings was on Cuban TV that afternoon. Well, it happened again. Another world leader was too busy to greet the president of the U.S. He was welcomed by Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, the governor of Riyadh.

My Take - Well, why would any of these people care? He's on another vacation. Next is London, then .....well.....who knows. This way he's not expected to do anything profound or....well.....intellegent, at which he's highly skilled, going back to all of his days as the head of Harvard's Law Review when publishing is obligatory for the editor - he either didn't write anything or it was so stupid it wasn't published. As for his days as an "adjunct" professor at the Chicago School of Law where he was forced in by some kind of political shannigans, he was classified by the real professors as unqualified, lazy and dumb as dirt. A good synopsis of his Presidency.....just like his presidency of Harvard Law Review. I guess you could say consistency counts - if only the consistency we see here wasn't incompetence followed by disaster.....and just like the disastrous long term impact of Jimmy Carter's decisions in the Middle East and his embrace of the Community Reinvestment Act - the disastrous effects will be felt for decades.
