Ted Cruz Argues that the GOP Establishment is Terrified of Obama

Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared on Fox News earlier this week to talk about his campaign and politics in Washington with the Hannity Show’s host Sean Hannity. What followed was a stellar takedown of the GOP establishment on Capitol Hill and an expression that Cruz seems to hold the same sort of disgust for Congress that 90% of America does. It was awesome.

 

Sean Hannity: "All the White House and Democrats have to do is say we are going to blame you for shutting down the government, and [GOP leadership] surrenders. Doesn’t the next Speaker have to be willing to allow the president to shut down the government, fund every aspect of the government except [Obama’s] priorities."

 

Ted Cruz: “Well, we shouldn’t have a shut down, but let me tell you what the situation is. GOP leadership has promised there will never be a shutdown. Never ever.So Obama said, aha! I have a magic key, all I have to do is whisper the word ‘shutdown,’ and Republican leadership will run for the hills, so on every policy issue, he says fund all of Obamacare or I’ll shut the government down… same thing on Planned Parenthood, same thing on Iran.”
