De Omnibus Dubitandum - Lux Veritas

Thursday, December 12, 2013

Our campaign slogan for this one is "Mill Pond = Mill Stone".

In North Carolina we are having to deal with another proposed wind project: Mill Pond. So far none have been built.  I think that you will find much of what we've done here to be of interest elewhere, e.g.

1 - A Webpage that outlines the whole Mill Pond situation. In support of this we published:
a) Two pages of sources advocating or using a mile setback,
b) A page of studies and reports about how tourism is reduced, and
c) A page of studies and reports about how the military and commercial radar is adversely affected.
2 - The community forum Slide Presentation (there have been two pubic meetings now).
3 - A Summary of some of the key slides. Some brand-new material here is:
a) An effective "Food for Thought" analogy,
b) A comparison between a wind project and a big-box store, and
c) A numerical quality rating of state and local wind laws.
4 - The affected Town (Newport) has approved a superior Property Value Guarantee (page 4: 9-6.1[d]).
Feel free to use any of this material in your area. Let me know any suggestions for improvements.
Thanks for your support.
