Feds Spend $1.5 Million to Study Why Lesbians Are Fat

The NIH is funding studies to determine why nearly three-quarters of adult lesbians are overweight or obese, compared to half of heterosexual women. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $1.5 million to study biological and social factors for why “three-quarters” of lesbians are obese and why gay males are not, calling it an issue of “high public-health significance."

Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., has received two grants administered by NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to study the relationship between sexual orientation and obesity.

“Obesity is one of the most critical public health issues affecting the U.S. today,” the description of the grant reads. “Racial and socioeconomic disparities in the determinants, distribution, and consequences of obesity are receiving increasing attention.” …To Read More….

My Take - Okay, since I absolutely know the reason why they are fat - for the same reason all other people with a weight problem - they eat too much and exercise too little.  Problem solved!  Do I get a cut of that 1.5 million?  As for any of the other psychological, socioeconomic - and any other psychobabble claptrap reasons - who cares?  And what if there are other contributing reasons discovered; just exactly is anyone going to do about it once they find out?  Nothing!  And 1.5 million will have been sent down the rat hole wasted on academic welfare.  No wonder these academics are all socialists, communists, Marxists and redistributionist’s.
