My Gazette: DEI

Diversity without accomplishment is philosophy without form and incompetence without consequence.

By Rich Kozlovich

I save an inordinate number of articles dealing with every issue facing humanity.  I save them with the intention to use them in my own commentaries as source material.  But, after a while my draft files get really big and while I still want to have that materiel for reference, I have to purge those files.  So, I've decided to start a weekly series of Gazettes.  I will be publishing a "Gazette" dealing with each issue regularly, and I will insert "My Take " along the way.  Draft file purged, material saved.

Recently this whole "diversity" issue really took over the "front page" of the media with the testimony of three university presidents and the issue of anti-semitism on America's college campuses, and two are now gone, and the third is being pressured to resign.  But one was black, incompetent, corrupt, and totally unqualified.  And the left is outraged because her resignation is a result of racism.  And we know all things great and small are racist, and now that includes plagiarism.

As Ed Brodow noted in his article, The Big Takeaway from Harvard -- Diversity is the Enemy of Meritocracy:

Harvard President Claudine Gay claims that she is being forced to resign because of racism. As Greg Gutfeld aptly observed on Fox, Gay is not a victim of racism -- she was appointed because she is the beneficiary of racist policy. Ms. Gay is a sterling example of how DEI is the antithesis of meritocracy.  While it may seem that Gay is on the chopping block because of plagiarism or her defense of calls for anti-Jewish genocide, the real reason for her downfall is her lack of qualifications for the job. She was appointed not because she was the best or the brightest, but because she fit the diversity profile that Harvard wanted. Gay is the perfect symbol for a university that has become a bastion of left-wing ideology and the enemy of meritocracy.

As Rob McDevitt commented on this article, Anti-Intellectualism and the Left, saying:

For Harvard to fire the Affirmative Action hire, Gay, though richly deserved, would be for the the morally superior (in their own minds) DEI crowd to be admitting the fallacy of the whole diversity, equity argument. It's less embarrassing for them to keep her as a distinguished something still on the payroll.

In short, they're stuck with her, and the whole diversity crowd at Harvard, and most universities.

Meritocracy and diversity are totally antithetical to each other.  Diversity without accomplishment is philosophy without form and incompetence without consequence.  What's worse, it's an excuse for the imposition of treasonous and tyrannous laws and regulations that are in reality unconstitutional.

So, let's start here.

White rage in the military: the report is out - January 6, 2024 By Mike McDaniel - Remember General Mark “Thoroughly Modern” Milley? As Chairman as the Joint Chiefs of Staff he called his Chinese counterpart and told him should America plan action against China, he’d let them know in advance. He pushed our military to new lows of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity madness. It was he whose priority was to discover “white rage,” among our forces. So determined was he to find and obliterate “extremism”—anything other than leftist thought, word and deed—he sent our military on a hunt for the thousands of domestic terrorists he was certain lurked in the ranks. Not only were few, if any, found, Milley, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin have presided over a recruiting deficit that has emboldened our enemies, horrified our allies, and directly threatens national security. .............One would think people like Milley and Austin, who served for decades, would know better.  Obviously, they were careerists, attuned far more to political than military reality and needs. Our military members are more than smart enough to recognize the difference and quickly lose faith in “leaders” that hate them or see them as pawns to be played for career advancement...........

My Take - When I served I despised the officers.  Unlike now they weren't traitors, but the only reason why is because the ground wasn't yet fertile for treason as it is now.  Officers are go along to get along invertebrates totally lacking in the ability to be a rock in the current, with unending levels of arrogance.  Is still despise them, but now I outrank them, I'm a civilian, and I no longer have to tolerate them.

Want to Guess What This Surgeon Says Is Destroying American Health Care? - Matt Vespa  December 29, 2023-  It’s something you’ve known for a while to be a systemic issue in healthcare. Like a virus, it’s spread to almost every institution in the country. White-collar jobs are now breeding grounds for it, but healthcare, one of the last holdouts, has fallen prey to it. It’s the diversity, inclusion, and equality nonsense that has served as a lifeline for those acquiring worthless woke degrees, an opportunity to earn a six-figure salary lecturing their respective workforces about white privilege and other frivolities associated with this movement.   Such folly can be deadly, especially in health care, which should be thousands of miles away from political games. Alas, that’s not the case, especially when it comes to these transgender mutilation surgeries for minors. It’s not a significant issue in the sense that hordes of kids want to be altered irreparably, but you can’t give an inch to the Left because we’ve seen what they do when conservatives decide to cede the battlefield: mayhem ensues. The number of school boards cultural Marxists overtook was only exposed when the kids stayed home during COVID. So, it was only a matter of time before the professions collapsed (via Fox News):

Anti-Discrimination Laws and the War on Capitalism By Robert Weissberg - It is said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but in New York City the infatuation with “disastrous good intentions” is a sacred command.  The latest installment of the march down a ruinous path are laws protecting all New Yorkers from discrimination due to their weight or body shape, save where demonstrably necessary. According to the City Council, “Body size discrimination affects millions of people every year, contributing to harmful disparities in medical treatment and outcomes, blocking people from access to opportunities in employment, housing and public accommodations, and deepening existing injustices that people face,” Ignored is the medical evidence on the dangers of obesity and how the CDC classifies 42% of Americans as “obese.”...........

Ohio’s Kent State University Rebrands DEI Efforts as Lawmakers Debate Bill to Outlaw It  - by Micaiah Bilger = Kent State University has embedded DEI efforts throughout its academics and programming in recent years, creating a new Division of People, Culture and Belonging and adding administrators, faculty, and projects centered around the ideology, a College Fix analysis found.....Amoaba Gooden’s new title is vice president of the Division of People, Culture and Belonging, according to her faculty bio. She previously served as vice president of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion department............

Vermont Punishes Christian School For Refusing Let Their Girls Basketball Team Compete Against Males - A Vermont Christian school is fighting back after they were kicked out of the state’s largest athletic association because they refused to let their girls basketball team compete against a squad that included a six-foot-tall man.......

NYC ordinance banning ‘body size discrimination’ goes into effect - November 27, 2023 By Olivia Murray - In early October, I wrote a blog on a social media “fatfluencer” whose very serious demands for widened hotel hallways and extra airplane seats for the morbidly obese had rolled her into my sphere of awareness. The young woman, who is in her mid-twenties, was petitioning businesses to adopt a “customer-of-size policy” and urging private establishments to provide “size-inclusive” amenities so that ultra-fat people could enjoy the same things as everyone else.  But, at the time I penned the essay, I had no idea that in New York City, an ordinance of this very nature was already on the books, and now it’s gone into effect. From a report out at the New York Post yesterday:....

Subverting Medical Science For A Race-Based Political Agenda - By Paul Williams - For almost two years, everyone has ignored an important “health equity” story affecting 87% of Americans. It concerns the medical definition of chronic kidney disease (CKD), which is an impairment of the kidney’s ability to filter waste, toxins, and excess fluids from the blood. Affecting approximately 37 million US adults, the disease can lead to dialysis, kidney replacement, and death. Physicians and health care providers rely on laboratory measurements of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) to diagnose CKD and to qualify patients for treatment, Medicare-paid education, referrals to a nephrologist (kidney specialist), and kidney transplants. GFR is usually estimated from a chemical in the blood called “creatinine.” High creatinine levels signify that the kidneys are not functioning well. Nearly 250 million creatinine measurements are made each year in the US...................

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a Moral Sickness Infecting Our Military - December 12, 2023 By Patrick Bobko - The political vigilantism taking place under the banner of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) must be immediately and completely excised from our military. DEI corrodes the moral foundations upon which our armed services were built and provides both the kindling and spark for igniting tribalism among our service members. Officers of all ranks who promulgate these destructive ideas must be immediately relieved of command because they actively endanger our nation’s security........

Baptist Church Hosts Drag Queen Concert  Grace Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia is hosting a drag queen concert. Yes, folks, a Baptist church. The church is featuring “Flamy Grant” – a so-called Christian drag queen. Grant, who is a man, is a “from the Bible Belt who will move you, soothe you, help you heal some trauma and always leave you laughing.” Money collected at the church will support Diversity Richmond, a hub for the Alphabet Activists. WRVA talk show host Jeff Katz joined Todd’s Newsmax show to talk about the concert.......

Corporate insider confirms American businesses are going racist at full speed Reveals people fired for not living up to DEI demands By WND Staff December 28, 2023 - Insiders at a major American corporation, IBM, have confirmed that America's businesses are going racist at full speed. The details come from video released by commentator Tucker Carlson: He posted video obtained from investigative reporter James O'Keefe of O'Keefe Media Group that shows the IBM chief, Arvind Krishna, demanding his executives comply with quotas for racial and gender minorities under the threat of losing their bonuses and pay. The video also reveals Paul Cormier, chief of Red Hat, an IBM subsidiary, said that his executives have been removed from the company for failing to meet the demands of the socially progressive "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" programs that are being forced on companies, schools, and more. Carlson described the situation as a form of "modern Jim Crow" racism. He explained how immigrants for generations have arrived in the U.S. recognizing that there's opportunity for those who work hard and have ability. Completing this poll entitles you to WND news updates free of charge. You may opt out at anytime.  DEI, under Joe Biden, "inverts that," he said. "Immigrants are told white men are the problem. … racism," he said. That makes the workplace "a hellscape." Stephen Miller, of America First Legal, explained that the comments offer a "chilling window" into the racist ideology being pursued. He said what was startling was to "see it said so bluntly … You're going to be punished … [career] taken away from you because you don't establish a specific racial quota… You are not the right race."

Contemporary 'journalism' does not follow DEI mandateDecember 29, 2023 By Ethel C. Fenig - Faithful American Thinker readers will definitely not be shocked nor surprised to learn that what passes for journalism in contemporary American society is not diverse; not equitable; not inclusive – i.e., definitely not . It is overwhelmingly Democrat. And now a study from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, summarized here confirms this. These studies of journalists, which initially began in 1971 and are conducted about once every 10 years, the last one in 2022, reveal gradual shifts over the years.

DEI Matters, But Only If Less, And Inferior, Science Is The Goal - December 29, 2023 By Thomas J. Bruno - I have often written about my experiences as a scientist in a federal research lab and my years leading a group of other scientists. When I began my career 40+ years ago, the staffing was mostly (but not all) male and white, and mostly competent. I say mostly competent, because there was certainly a small collection of low energy, retired-in-place (mostly white male) goof-offs who we all wished would depart. There were always attempts to increase recruitment of minorities and women, but “grow your own” was ultimately the only approach that was barely workable.  To illustrate the ham-fisted early efforts, I relate a story circa 1990; the local university was graduating a young, impressive guy with a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering (thesis and published research focused on mechanical and personnel operations in low gravity). My agency scheduled a day-and-a-half of interviews with all the supervisors, not because he was a potential Nobel prize winner, but because he was black. We had to give him a good experience and if at all possible, a job offer.  ................
