Patriot Neighbors: What, Me Worry?

By Robin Itzler

“Still, this latest move from Johnson does bring us back to the elephant in the room, which is what exactly was gained by the fight to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker? Has there been a distinct shift in governance? I would say, not really. We still ended up with a continuing resolution, and now we are getting the same strategy regarding avoiding a shutdown at all costs. Those were the two major issues that got McCarthy booted.” —Bonchie on Red State (January 7, 2024)

TAXES GOING DOWN - The non-partisan Tax Foundation lobbies for lower taxes. (Sounds good to us!) They reported that marginal state income tax rates are being reduced in 12 states. ALL are Republican majority with one exception. - Arkansas - Montana - Connecticut - Nebraska - Georgia - New Hampshire* - Indiana - North Carolina - Iowa - Ohio - Mississippi - South Carolina *New Hampshire is not cutting its marginal rates but will be phasing out a tax on interest and dividend income.

MASSACHUSETTS & CALIFORNIA CONTINUE LO$ING RE$IDENT$ - Two different studies confirm again that residents in blue states are leaving for more favorable red states.

The annual U-Haul Growth Index shows that California leads the nation in rented one-way U-Haul trucks out of the state, ranking #1 for the fourth consecutive year. According to the report, these are the states Californians are moving to (in alpha order):

Arizona, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

The U-Haul index shows these other blue states are losing residents (alpha order): Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York, and the 47th annual United Van Lines National Movers Study confirms that Americans: “...are moving eastbound and southbound—and relocating to less expensive areas with comparable amenities to larger metropolitans.”

The other top outbound states according to United Van Lines are (alpha order): California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Kansas. Kansas is the only red state listed.

Paul Craney of Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance said:

“Massachusetts State House leaders need to take note of the reason why taxpayers are fleeing our state. The number one priority of 2024 should be economic competitiveness and this new report shows that."

Joel Kotkin, a fellow at Chapman University (Orange, California) has researched California out-migration and what it is doing (and will do) to the state’s budget:

“There’s a price to pay for the movement of middle- and upper-income people and corporations. People who are leaving are taking their tax dollars with them.”

Will high tax blue states reduce taxes? Will blue states reduce freebies given to illegal aliens? Of course not! If you want to share your thoughts with California’s Democrat Governor Gavin “Hair Gel” Newsom:

2023 JOBS REPORT STINKS: Lay offs continue into 2024.  The 2023 monthly jobs reports were NOT good, unless you think that increasing government payroll is the way to bring the economy back from Bidenomics failures. In 2023, one-quarter of all “new” jobs were for the government: local, state, or federal. Do YOU think we needed 676,000 MORE government jobs???

We also must wonder why the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) consistently REVISES the monthly jobs report, and it’s always downward. This is monthly the scenario repeated throughout last year:

  • BLS announces jobs report for previous month.
  • Joey gets up from his nap and touts the “great” numbers.
  • Joey and MSM ignore that one-third to one-half of “new” jobs are government jobs.
  • Several weeks later, BLS revises jobs report DOWN.

In 2023, revisions totaled 488,000 DOWN. That number could change if the BLS revises the December jobs report. Do YOU think CNN, MSNBC or the mainstream media will report the downward trend as its lead story?

Another important monthly statistic is the labor force participation rate. This tells you the percentage of the civilian working-age population that is either employed or looking for a job. In December, it was 62.5 percent. That means a lot of people who could be working and should be working are not in the labor force. That’s not a good statistic, but Joey is too busy telling us that America First MAGAs are Nazis.

PLUS, on January 11, the Labor Department reported that inflation (CPI—consumer price index) edged up in December to 3.4 percent from November’s 3.1 percent.  Here is a sampling of some January 2024 layoffs:

  • Amazon’s Twitch (consumer) – Announced plans to lay off 500 employees, which is roughly 30 percent of its workforce.
  • BlackRock (financial investment) – Reported that it will lay off 600 employees or 3 percent of its global workforce. The layoffs are not directed at any specific team or division.
  • Cue Health (healthcare) – Reduced its staff by 94 employees.
  • Google (technology)– Reduced hardware and central engineering teams, as well employees who work on Google Assistant.
  •  NanoString Technologies (biotechnology) – Plans to cut 9 percent of its workforce, which equals 50 employees. They received a delisting notice from Nasdaq.
  • NuScale (energy) – Announced it will reduce its staff by 154 employees representing 28 percent of its full-time staff and 40 percent overall.
  • Unity Software (technology) – In their January 8, 2024, filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said it will cut “approximately 1,800 employees.” This equates to about 25 percent of its workforce.
  • RON DeSANITS: He’s not MAGA - During a recent CNN town hall meeting, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was asked: “Did the Jan. 6 insurrectionists display patriotism, as some of them claim they did?”  At this point, DeSantis should have corrected the voter by pointing out that the people in D.C. on January 6 were NOT “insurrectionists.” There is no denying that a few got out of line inside the Capitol, but their punishment does NOT match the crime. OVERALL, those who were inside the Capitol were welcomed inside by the Capitol Police—it’s on video! They were escorted around the Capitol by the Capitol Police! It’s on video! Plus, J-6ers had NO weapons or firearms!

“Did the Jan. 6 insurrectionists display patriotism, as some of them claim they did?”

(Let us know how many “peaceful protestors” from the 2020 George Floyd riots, burnings, lootings, murders and violence were arrested and sent to prison. We’ll wait …)  Ron DeSantis responded to that question saying that the people in D.C. on January 6, 2021, were NOT Patriots. He said:

“No, of course not. That was not a good day for the country. I think the media has taken that and the left has taken that and really tried to politicize it, but it was not a good day for the country. Patriotism to me is when you put yourself out there and put service above self.”

Ron DeSantis is NOT Donald Trump without the baggage, as many Never Trumpers insist. He has a lot of his own baggage that’s swirling around the airport conveyor belt!

KING ARTHUR BAKING CONTEST CLOSED TO WHITES - Today is Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday. Surely, he is looking down in frustration and anger that so many Americans have morphed into racists. Whatever the reason, if a person or company discriminates, it is racism. As Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts said:

“The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.”

It seems that the King Arthur Baking Company management needs to learn more about Dr. King. Read on …The King Arthur Baking Company recently announced “Baking Pitchfest 2024.” The baking competition offers bakers an opportunity to be recognized for their baking skills, win mentorship from more established bakers and receive financial support for their bakery business.

Sounds great, right? Not if you are a WHITE person. The competition is not open to Whites. Imagine the public outcry if a company held a contest and refused to allow blacks or Hispanics to participate. Al Sharpton would be standing outside the facility shouting, “No justice, no piece … of bread!”

Advancing the discrimination theme was Molly Lawrence, the company’s corporate social responsibility manager: “Pitchfest 2024 is a testament to our commitment to fostering a more inclusive baking community and empowering creative POC leaders in the industry.”

How can the event be “inclusive” if the company is specifically refusing to include certain people of a certain color to participate?

This competition insults Dr. King’s memory!

JAN 6: Congressman says it was FBI entrapment - Republican Louisiana Representative Clay Higgins, who has been investigating the January 6 Capitol protest (NOT insurrection … protest), told Tucker Carlson that there were a minimum of 200 undercover FBI assets integrated in the MAGA crowd, inside the Capitol and outside the Capitol. Read the PJ Media article by Matt Margolis to better understand what really happened that day and how our nation’s alphabet agencies appear to be against half the American people.

ALL THIS MONEY TO SEE WHO IS #2 - On the REPUBLICAN side, speaking about the upcoming Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire primary, Vivek Ramaswamy told Tucker Carlson:

“The bipartisan system wants to narrow this down to be a two-horse race between Donald Trump and Nikki Haley. They want to, one way or another, by hell or high water, take Donald Trump out, eliminate him from competition... and prop Nikki Haley straight in to keep the war machine humming and to effectively keep the censorship industrial complex and the administrative state in tact exactly where it was in the post-9/11 Bush-Cheney era."

On the DEMOCRAT & REPUBLICAN side:

It is insanity that some Republican state parties allow open primaries. But the GOP (aka “the stupid party”) allows this in 40 states. We might see it play out in New Hampshire, which votes on January 23. Unaffiliated voters can decide which ballot they want, but registered Democrats must switch parties. To date, 4,000 Democrats changed their registration to vote in the Republican primary. The Haley team is encouraging them to vote for her to keep Trump from winning the nomination.  We predict that if Nikki Haley is the Republican nominee, MAGAs would not vote and that would hurt all the down ballot races.

    On the INDEPENDENT side:

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has lost some support because he stands with Israel. Between Independents and Democrats, it appears that their base is pro-Hamas terrorists and that should concern every freedom loving American.

Speaking of third parties, here are two excerpts from a Politico interview (posted January 10, 2024) with Bernard Tamas, a political scientist at Valdosta State University and author of “The Demise and Rebirth of American Third Parties”:

“I think third parties are gaining a lot more attention this time because of the stakes of the election and because the assumption is that the election is going to be so close. I think Democrats are particularly concerned about this. Whether they are accurately reading that it’s going to hurt them more is unclear. But it’s a giant open question whether this is going to help the Democrats or the Republicans more. The Democratic strategists think it’ll help the Republicans more, but nobody knows that for sure.”

“A lot of people are looking at polls right now and saying there’s so many people who want the third-party candidates. And there’s many who are arguing that they would vote for third parties — a third party candidate at the presidential level — but those polls are really not very predictive. Because most people, in the end, no matter what they say, wind up voting for either the Democratic or Republican candidate.” Other things to consider:

The Iowa Caucuses is a complete waste of time and tells us nothing. None of these candidates that won Iowa went on to win New Hampshire or South Carolina.

    1. 2008—Mike Huckabee wins Iowa and the following week comes in third with 11 percent.
    2. 2012—Rick Santorum wins Iowa and a week later is tied for fourth in New Hampshire with 9 percent.
    3. 2016—Ted Cruz wins Iowa and a week later finishes third in New Hampshire with 12 percent.

CALIFORNIA: - GOP endorses name recognition.

There are FOUR Republicans running in the March 5 primary vying for the seat once held by the late Senator Dianne Feinstein. They are: - James Bradley - Denice Gary-Pandol - Eric Early - Steve Garvey

Garvey did not even have the fortitude to announce he was running BEFORE the September California GOP Convention, where he would have met with voters to answer their questions. Instead, he announced shortly after the convention and has since been in hiding or holding private fundraisers with mega donors.

USC Dornsife, FOX 11 Los Angeles and POLITICO will be hosting a California Senate debate on Monday, January 22 from 6 - 7:30 PM (PST). Check your local listings to find the radio and TV stations that will be broadcasting the event. HOWEVER, only four senate candidates were invited to participate:

    1. Communist Representative Barbara Lee
    2. Marxist Representative Katie Port
    3. Serial Liar Representative Adam Schiff
    4. Former (as in decades ago) baseball player Steve Garvey

California voters should hear from James Bradley, Eric Early and Denice Gary-Pandol as each one would make an outstanding senator.  Some political observers offer that Garvey was pushed into the race by the hapless California GOP establishment that believes name recognition is the only way to win in the once Golden state. If name recognition is the key to getting CAGOP support, let’s nominate Bozo the Clown for U.S. Senate!

Until the Peoples Republic of California (the state that gives free everything including trans surgery to ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS) stops progressive insanity, the CAGOP should go with Bozo the Clown!

GETTING INTEGRITY BACK INTO ELECTIONS by James Horn, America Firster — Arizona

Our current election tabulating processes using electric, computerized vote tallying equipment is compromised - useless. Many responsible people are calling for alternatives such as paper ballots to be counted manually which based on population demographics may not be feasible within the limited time allotted (end of voting day – not weeks later).

Electric, computerized tabulating is still a viable way to get the job done, BUT only when done right. The present systems are made for fraudulent manipulation. All voting and tabulating equipment must be stand-alone, contained in secure enclosures:

    • They would only use tested and verified internal encrypted program chips (all done under close observation and supervision of cleared neutral personnel.
    • Battery powered. No external power supplies or cables.
    • TEMPEST and EMF protected/shielded, contained in faraday enclosures or an equivalent so that no outside electronic interference can penetrate and change the operation.
    • Only legitimate, verified ballots would be fed to the tabulating machines through secure portals. Once counted, the tabulating machine would in some way render the ballot no longer countable.
    • All ballots must be counted and announced by midnight.

ARE WE NOW A COMMUNIST NATION? Some recent events that make us wonder if the republic can be saved.  NEW YORK—In Democrat-controlled New York City, the CITY tossed out 3,400 elementary school students from James Madison High School and told them classes would be remote so the school could be used to shelter illegal alien invaders. Elon Musk tweeted: "They’ve run out of hotel rooms, are kicking kids out of school for illegal housing and now they want your homes too."

INTERNATIONAL: CANADA—Hamas supporters were blocking a bridge near a Jewish neighborhood. So what did the Toronto police do? They were caught on video hand-delivering hot coffee to the pro-Hamas protestors! You cannot make up this insanity. But maybe there is some hope … Liberal MP Marco Mendicino, who represents the area of the protest, criticized police, as did liberal MP Anthony Housefather.

IS THE TIDE TURNING TO FREEDOM? - With our prayers and involvement, we must have hope of saving our republic. Let’s look at some recent wins that show the tide might be turning in the direction of Conservative Judeo-Christian values. However, we need Republican LEADERSHIP, which seems to be in short supply.

PENNSYLVANIA—In their efforts to erase our nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage, the Biden administration through the National Park Service had announced plans to remove the statue of William Penn from Welcome Park in Philadelphia. Why? Penn owned slaves. Let’s remember that many of our other esteemed Founding Fathers owned slaves (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, etc.). How long before Marxist-Democrats tear down those statues? How long before Washington, D.C. is renamed George Floyd, D.C.?

Due to the outcry, the National Parks Service reversed its decision and will NOT be removing the statue. At least not right now. Letters, emails, phone calls and public comments are important!

LAWSUIT RE: ASHLI BABBITT—Judicial Watch, on behalf of the family of Ashli Babbitt, has filed a $30 million wrongful death lawsuit against the federal government over her shooting death during the January 6 protest rally. The lawsuit (filed on January 5 in California federal court) states that the 35-year-old Air Force veteran “posed no threat to the safety of anyone” when she was fatally shot. We will look forward to Capitol Police Captain Michael Byrd’s testimony. As a reminder, Byrd was promoted to captain after he shot and killed Babbitt.

    LAUGH, CRY OR SAY AMEN

    1. American sightseer in England: After three days of eating in England, I now understand why Gordon Ramsey is angry all the time.
    2. On Job Application: We do not hire liberals. This is not because we disagree with their political views. It is because working here requires superior reasoning, logic and reading comprehension skills. In our experience, liberals are deficient in those areas. We have found that they make decisions based on their emotions, not logic. This would be detrimental to our business. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
    3. Climitard (pronounced klimit’tard): A person that believes the climate can be changed by paying a CO2 tax to the government.

    5. My mind still thinks I’m 25. My body thinks my mind is an idiot.
    6. Joe Biden: If Americans won’t vote Democrat, I’ll flood the country with people who will!
    7. A college professor said to his class, “If God really exists, then let him knock me out of my chair.” Nothing happened. The professor then said, “I will give God two more minutes.” A Marine vet stood up, went to the front of the classroom and punched the teacher in the face, knocking him to the floor. Holding his jaw, the professor said to the student, “Why did YOU do that?” The Marine answered, “God was busy protecting my buddies still fighting for your right to say and do stupid stuff like this. So, God asked me to do it for him!”
