A columnist for the Havana Tribune, a newspaper controlled by Cuba’s government, slammed President Obama for his recent visit and accused the White House chief of “inciting rebellion” among the residents.
The article, written by a black columnist named Elias Argudin, was entitled, according to a rough translation into English, “Black Man, Are You Dumb?” As Breitbart noted, the exactly translation references the phrase, “pretend to be a Swede,” a saying that means to “play dumb.”
Argudin took specific umbrage with Obama’s suggestions, offered “subtly,” that Cuba needed reform. “Obama came, saw, but unfortunately, with the pretend gesture of lending a hand, tried to conquer,” he wrote, Breitbart reported. “[Obama] chose to criticize and subtly suggest … incitations to rebellion and disorder, without caring that he was on foreign ground.
