Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) told the Rev.
Al Sharpton of MSNBC on Wednesday that Sharpton and the pope are "on the
same wavelength." McDermott's
observation on what he perceives as the similarity between Sharpton and the
pope came up in a discussion of food stamps. McDermott noted that when Jesus fed
five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, “he didn’t charge
food stamps.”....To Read More....
My Take – It really amazes me when these leftists – who booed God at the Democratic National Convention
– start to use Biblical references to support their socialist schemes, and
worse yet, praising a heretic like Al
Sharpton! First of all, the account he references wasn’t a full time effort to feed the nation, or even the poor.
Secondly, since Jesus miraculously created a huge amounts of food for
these people who were following him to hear him speak - it was his food to do with as he
pleased. In short, it wasn’t a public
effort but a private enterprise - a personal choice - and it wasn’t wasted on
bureaucrats and people who are scamming the system. Furthermore, that act of kindness was not
meant to be an example to promote some gigantic social program where they steal
society’s money in order to give it away.
One
more thought. Is it possible to be professing
belief in Christianity and a Democrat without being a heretic? The platform of the Democratic Party absolutely
supports abortion and homosexual marriage.
Both clear violations of Biblical principles. Some ‘Christian’ churches openly support such
things, but they are doing so in violation of what is supposed to be
foundational to their thoughts and teachings; the Bible. The Catholic Church
adamantly proscribes such thinking. So - again - is it possible to be a member of the Democratic Party and a Christian
without being a heretic?
