My Gazette: Israeli/Hamas War, Islamification of the West, Part II

I save an inordinate number of articles dealing with every issue facing humanity.  I save them with the intention to use them in my own commentaries as source material.  But, after a while my draft files get really big and while I still want to have that materiel for reference, I have to purge those files.  So, I've decided to start a weekly series of Gazettes.  I will be publishing a "Gazette" dealing with each issue regularly, and I will insert "My Take " along the way.  Draft file purged, material saved. 

Warming: Some of these draft articles go aways back, and while that may be tiresome, it will also lay out a historical pattern.

How the U.S., the UN and the Media Saved Hamas Nazis Thirty Years Ago -  Daniel Greenfield November 23, 2023 - Israel expelled Hamas. The world forced Israel to take it back. "Deporting The Hope For Peace?” Newsweek asked. The hope for peace was Hamas. The year was 1992. The Clinton administration was trying to get Israeli Prime Minister Rabin and the PLO’s Yasser Arafat to sign on the dotted line of the Oslo Accords to create a terror state inside Israel. In the name of peace. Unfortunately Hamas kept killing Israelis. 15-year-old Helena Rapp had been stabbed to death at a bus stop on the way to school. A few days later, Rabbi Shimon Biran, a father of four, was similarly murdered by an Islamic terrorist.  Fed up with the latest killings, Prime Minister Rabin put 417 Islamists terrorists on buses and dumped them in Lebanon. The monsters he deported included top Hamas terror leaders.......

Hamas torturers, Hamas lies, and Hamas’s useful idiots - November 29, 2023 By Andrea Widburg -  Since October 7, I keep returning to something I used to hear Dennis Prager say when interviewing leftists on his radio show. He was always polite, asking them probing questions, which he explained by stating, “I prefer clarity to agreement.” Sometimes, through clarity, he brought leftists to agree with him. As often as not, though, he’d force them to stand exposed in all their ugliness. When it comes to Hamas, whether in its home base in Gaza or acting through its useful idiots in America, we’re getting ever greater clarity, and it’s not pretty.

Now that the hostages are coming home, we are learning what they went through. Keep in mind that these hostages weren’t soldiers who were trained for the fight but were women, often having been terribly raped, children, elderly people, and wounded men. That is, they were vulnerable to begin with, and they were then exposed to physical deprivation, abuse, and extraordinary mental cruelty. Regarding the first two factors,...............

Breaking: Terror Attack in Jerusalem Kills Three Israelis; Two Gunmen Reported to be Members of Hamas Killed After Shooting Israelis at a Bus Stop (Video) -  Kristinn Taylor Nov. 30, 2023 - A terror attack in Jerusalem Thursday morning killed at least three Israelis waiting at a bus stop and wounded eleven more. The two gunmen, reported to be Israeli Arabs, were in turn shot and killed by an off-duty soldier who had just returned from fighting Hamas in Gaza. The terrorists have been identified by the Israeli government as two brothers who were members of Hamas and had previously been jailed on terrorism charges. The attack came after an extension was announced of the ceasefire for hostages for another day by Israel and Hamas as the sides negotiated another round of hostage and prisoner swaps.............

 A Misguided Truce - November 28, 2023 by John Hinderaker - Several weeks ago, anti-Semitic demonstrations broke out around the world, calling for the destruction of Israel and for a cease fire between Israel and Gaza–i.e., an end to Israel’s counter-offensive. The demonstrators got their wish, and so far, the cease fire is playing out as I had feared. Israel’s military momentum is gone, and Israel has lost control over the situation. All focus now is on the hostage/prisoner exchanges. That puts Hamas in the driver’s seat, and the terrorist regime likely can drag out the cease fire almost indefinitely by dribbling out hostages a few at a time. Having gone down this path, it is hard to see a basis on which Israel’s government can withdraw from the process. So, despite brave assurances from some Israeli officials that the offensive will resume as soon as a brief truce is over, that eventuality is starting to look remote.......

As Israel and Hamas Agree to Extend Ceasefire, We Have Reports of a Terror Attack in Jerusalem - Matt Vespa  - I’m not so sure I agree with this decision by Israel, but whatever the case, the ceasefire was extended by one day as fighting was about to resume. It’s a testament to Israel’s resolve in securing the release of more hostages taken during the brutal October 7 attacks perpetrated by Hamas. 

Advertisement  The Jewish state is abiding by the terms of the ceasefire, while Hamas has continuously violated it, launching rockets into Israel. There are also reports trickling in of a terror attack that just occurred in Jerusalem. Two gunmen were killed. For now, here’s what’s happening with the state of this pause in the Gaza War. We were hours away from hostilities resuming (via WaPo): .....

Iran: The Gangster Regime - As a regime that for more than forty years has sponsored violent abduction, hostage taking, kidnapping, blackmail, piracy, assassination, warmongering, and oppression, the Iranian dictatorship has no equal. They have plowed men and resources into proxy wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Gaza. They have openly backed terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas. Through the extra-territorial Quds Force wing of their Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), they have directed extremist operations throughout the Middle East and further afield, even sending registered diplomats on terror missions. Now, they are supplying kamikaze drones to Russia for use in their illegal war in Ukraine......

Rabid Antisemitic Students Forced a Jewish Teacher to Hole Up in Her Office in NYC, Matt Vespa November 26, 2023 - Back in October, we discussed how pro-terrorist students were taking over high schools. The Bay Area is not a shock. It’s a far-left bastion, and these folks have become the most virulent anti-Israel voices in the country. What has some people unnerved is how New York has become a haven for antisemitism and pro-Hamas advocacy. I would expect swastikas from this pro-terrorist crowd in California, not New York. And these antisemites have become more aggressive in recent weeks. .....

 

Gazastinian and West Bankian populations keep growing as leftists redefine ‘genocide’ - By Andrea Widburg - The newest talking point from the Hamas apologists is that they are fighting not only against an Israeli apartheid and occupation but also against a Jewish “genocide” against the Gazastanians. The problem with this claim, of course, is that the Gazan population has grown ten times over 70 years. Faced with this challenging reality, Hamas apologists are busy redefining what “genocide” means.  For a good analysis of the lie behind the “genocide” claim, I recommend Milli Sand’s essay, which looks at population growth in Gaza and the West Bank. She also examines the mass slaughters across the world in recent years, none of which have raised a peep from Hamas supporters, leftists, and other people utterly bereft of any moral compass. Indeed, a meme that’s been making the rounds nails the issue.

 

Palestinians Harass First Hostages as They're Driven Out of Gaza - Katie Pavlich  - November 24, 2023 -  Thirteen Israeli hostages who were driven out of the Gaza Strip and into Egypt Friday, after being released by terrorist organization Hamas, were harassed by Palestinian civilians as they made their way to freedom in Israel......

My Take - Let's get over the clabber about all those poor "innocent" Gazan "civilians".  There are none.  These Arabs who call themselves Palestinians are in total harmony with what their political leaders have done, and Hamas is their leadership.  They may resent how they've put them into harms way, but they're in total harmony with the horrors they perpetrated on Israel.  Innocent? Not on your life.

 

Negotiating for Hostages -  Eileen F. Toplansky - November 24, 2023 By Eileen F. Toplansky - Prisoner exchange is not a new event in Jewish history.  From the 1940s on, Israel exchanged Palestinian prisoners and POWs from Arab armies in exchange for Israeli soldiers and civilians taken captive during the war.  In the ancient world, in Numbers 21:1, Israel did not negotiate with the enemy but went to battle against her respective enemies in order to save prisoners.  A seminal case occurred in the early 13th century. Rabbi Meir of Rothenberg (1215–1293) was taken captive when he was 70 years old by Emperor Rudolf I, who demanded an exorbitant sum for the rabbi’s release.  This act was done in peacetime, and the rabbis and leaders of the Jewish communities in that generation were the rabbi’s students.  They were absolutely prepared to raise the sum necessary to free their teacher, even though it would spell financial disaster for the community........

The West’s Baby Bust - November 26, 2023 By Richard Kirk - I’m a big fan of Alex Berenson’s work vis-à-vis Covid, marijuana, and tech-government suppression of free speech (see Berenson v. Biden), but when it comes to his search for answers to America’s “baby bust,” he, like many others, fails to focus on the problem’s root cause.  It’s as if he were dealing with vaccines for the Wuhan virus without considering its gain-of-function lab origin.   One fact that Berenson overlooks is that U.S. birth rates are following the same negative trend that’s been apparent for decades in Europe.  When Mark Steyn wrote America Alone in 2006, the birth rate among Western women in that continent was a catastrophic 1.4 per woman of childbearing age.  Meanwhile, Muslim immigrants were reproducing at a robust 3.5 rate, a demographic fact that led the now Hillary-dispatched ruler of Libya to predict that Europe would become a Muslim continent in a few decades.  The U.S. birth rate among whites at that time was 1.85 and 2.1 overall.  Today, America’s overall birth rate has declined to 1.78.  Population replacement value is 2.1. ............

The sermon, which took place at the Jami Mosque & Islamic Centre, included inflammatory and threatening remarks targeting Israelis and Jews.  In front of his congregation, the controversial Imam was quoted as saying, “And the victory of the believers is our right. O Allah, hasten with Your victory, O Allah. O Merciful of the merciful. O Avenger, take revenge from the oppressors of the Zionists, the oppressors, the occupiers. O Allah, take revenge from them. O Allah, shake the earth from under their feet. O Allah, count them in numbers and kill them in numbers. And do not leave any of them.” The translated excerpt of the sermon was made available by the RAIR Foundation USA. Bowman: West Bank Is Like Jim Crow South and Israel Won’t Have Security Without ‘Palestinian Freedom’ - Ian Hanchett 21 Nov 2023 - On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Alex Wagner Tonight,” Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) stated that “We have been saying for so long, we are pro-Israel, pro-Israel’s right to exist, pro-Israel’s right to defend itself and self-determination. But we haven’t been saying the same thing about Palestinians.” And “Israel’s safety and security [are] directly connected to Palestinian freedom, safety, and security.”............

 

WaPo errs on Palestinian intention - November 21, 2023 By Michael Berenhaus - In “The gunfire in Gaza might abate. Alas, not so the horror of global hatred” (11/10/23), Washington Post editorial writer Colbert King writes of his visits to the sites of the worst atrocities befalling the Jewish people in the last century, starting with his trip to the Dachau concentration camp where horrors beyond imagination were perpetrated by the Nazis. He additionally toured other cities in Europe learning about the discrimination against Jews and how they were herded into small areas of the cities called “ghettos” like the Warsaw Ghetto. And there were other atrocities against the Jews of Europe that Mr. King discussed.  Kudos to King for reminding the world what anti-Semitism looks like. That said, it appears to be happening again as over 1200 Israelis....................

The Anatomy of Terror - November 21, 2023 By Christopher Chantrill - What is this thing called Terror? What is the point of a group like Hamas that lives for shooting rockets at Israeli civilians and raping and killing Israeli women?  Closer to home, what was Menachem Begin doing with Irgun in the last days of the British mandate in Palestine and the 1948 war that created the state of Israel? After the Israelis won the war, the Irgun got folded into the Israeli army.  It's pretty obvious. A terror organization is a paramilitary political force that is not a state with the requisite bureaucracy, army, and police, and it is usually at war with a state. But it cannot actually go to war; it doesn't have the power and the wealth. Therefore, it is reduced to war as performance, selling the world on the idea that it is the wave of the future and the government it terrorizes a cruel killer of innocents. The eternal question for a terror leader is: what sort of violence can it get away with without triggering an overwhelming counterattack from the state in which it resides?......

Today, we’ll take that report a bit further to discuss the Hamas-aligned non-profit organizations that have received hundreds of millions of dollars from corporate foundations, employee giving, and even taxpayers themselves. Preliminarily, let’s review 501(c) organizations. As taxpayers, we all know that we get write-offs if we donate to a “501(c)(3)” organization. However, there are actually 29 types of 501(c) non-profit organizations. All of them are, in varying ways, exempt from paying some federal and state taxes. This means that they get a lot of bang for the donated buck........

Biden's 'culpability' for Hamas slaughter of Israelis revealed -By Bob Unruh December 13, 2023 - Whose interest is he pursuing?'  A column published by Real Clear Wire has launched an examination of Joe Biden's "culpability" for the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, when some 1,400 civilians were slaughtered.  .........What led up to the atrocities? Some of Israel’s biggest enemies are Jews in America - December 14, 2023 by BareNakedIslam 2 Comments - Not just any Jews, self-loathing Socialist Jews like Bernie Sanders who calls Israel’s retaliatory war against Hamas a “mass atrocity.” Sanders claims Israelis have the right to defend themselves, but apparently, not if it means killing the people who attacked them first.  Daily Mail (h/t Nita)  Vermont Democrat (self-proclaimed Socialist) Senator Bernie Sanders has penned a blistering letter calling Joe Biden ‘complicit in carnage’ and demanding he cut US aid to Israel by $10 billion amid its war on Hamas.

  

"Israel’s military campaign will be remembered among some of the darkest chapters of our modern history,’ wrote Sanders, in a letter that came on a day when Biden himself issued public criticism of Israel for its campaign inside Gaza  ‘And it is being done with bombs and equipment produced and provided by the United States and heavily subsidized by American taxpayers. Tragically, we are complicit in this carnage,’ he wrote.

 

My Take - Just when you thought Bernie couldn't possibly be more contemptible, you then realize there's no limit to the depth and breadth of contempt to which he deserves to be viewed.  Which makes any sane person wonder:  What is wrong with the minds of the people of Vermont?
