Schumer doubles down: Why didn’t Roberts call out Trump for criticizing Sotomayor and Ginsburg?

Allahpundit Posted March 4, 2020

A simple “I regret my poor decision to threaten two Supreme Court justices” would have worked fine here, but eh................Let’s go in order. Schumer’s comments earlier weren’t a reference to “the political price Senate Republicans will pay” for confirming Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. It’s insulting to our collective intelligence for him to claim that it was. He couldn’t have been clearer that he was addressing the justices directly, not Republicans.............To Read More.....

My Take - There was an earlier article saying Schumer was backing down, but see, no matter what the left says, they never really back down.  Their apologies are totally insincere and nothing short of an effort to obfuscate the facts, with logical fallacies and misdirection, and their unending effort to redefine the English language.  His claim about Trump is a example.  How and when did the phrase to criticize someone ever become to mean to threaten someone?

Trump criticized Sotomayor and Ginsberg, both of whom made public statements that clearly show they both are left wing ideologues. Trump criticized them, but he didn’t threaten them.

Schumer threatened the court and two of the justices were specifically singled out by him, specifically threatened with physical harm, and this isn’t the first time either.

He can characterize it in any way he wishes, but the public knows what he meant, the Senate knows what he meant, the justices know what he meant, and his leftist friends know what he meant and it inspires them. P hysical harm is the only interpretation that can be gleaned from his statements.

Whether he meant it or not is immaterial.

He threatened them with physical harm, and threatening government officials of the United States is a felony under federal law. Furthermore, “when a threat is made against a judge, it can be considered obstruction of justice. Threatening federal officials' family members is also a federal crime.”

He needs to be censured and then prosecuted under existing statutes.
