No, Repealing Obamacare Won’t Kill Off Thousands of Americans

Democrats are growing shrill in claiming that if Republicans repeal Obamacare, thousands of Americans will die. It's nonsense. Among the most popular of the potentially looming tragedies cited by proponents of Obamacare is that thousands of Americans will die if Republicans are successful in repealing it. David Himmelstein and Steffie Woolhandler at the Chicago Tribune, for example, posit that “repealing Obamacare will kill” as many as 43,000 people every year due to a lack of health insurance. Note that they don’t just suggest that 43,000 people will die as a result of the repeal. Specifically, their argument is that Republicans, and you that may support the effort toward repeal, will kill them. President Trump is right: we need to repeal ObamaCare, not let it die on its own. At Hot Air, we read that on Jan. 4 President-elect Trump tweeted: “Republicans must be careful… that the Dems own the failed ObamaCare disaster.” On Jan. 11, Business Insider quoted Trump thus: “They own it right now. So the easiest thing would be to let it implode in 2017 and, believe me, we'd get pretty much whatever he wanted. But it would take a long time.” So back in January, Mr. Trump seemed to think that the right course was to be proactive and repeal. Study: 60% of online Obamacare defenders are paid

Tens of thousands of pro-Obamacare Facebook posts are published by 100 profiles.A data analyst conducted a study of Obamacare posts on Facebook and discovered that 60% of more than 225,000 posts published by 40,000 profiles were actually posted by 100 people. Kenneth Brown also found that most of those posts were published between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, strongly suggesting that the people who were writing up pro-Obamacare Facebook posts were getting paid for it.
