The Supreme Court has agreed to review the case involving ten California public school teachers who are challenging a state law that requires them to pay union dues as a condition of employment.
The Christian teachers object to the union heavily investing in organizations such as Planned Parenthood as well as LGBT causes. “The percentage of public schools in California who have Christian convictions of course were on the other side of that public policy ledger, but they found that they still had to spend part of their work day financing political activism that they didn’t support through the form of union fees,” reports Kevin Mooney of The Heritage Foundation‘s Daily Signal.
An earlier Supreme Court decision ruled that teachers can be refunded their dues that support political causes they object, but Mooney says that is getting more difficult to determine......
