Powerline regularly runs a feature called "The Week In Pictures", none of which I can reproduce in P&D, so I've decided to do a paraphrased and embellished article using that post as the source. But there's a lot more in the Powerline offering to so go to the original to see all the pictures.
In the meanwhile, here are a few thoughts of mine on the passing scene, starting with the American Eagle Sydney Sweeney "jeans" ad.
After the furor over the American Eagle ad featuring Sydney Sweeney the Democrat party decided their platform for the 2026 midterm elections would be:
We hate capitalism, Jews, and hot chicks.
Why do they hate Sweeney? Because she's in an ad that's clearly nothing more that racist Nazi propaganda. Right? Or could it be because she's white, blond and pretty? So, American Eagle needs to rerun that ad with a fat transgender, or have Sweeney gain 100 pounds, get a brush haircut and claim to be a black lesbian if they want leftists to stop attacking them and buy their jeans. Oh ......wait... I just had a thought. I never saw the original ad, and probably would have never seen the ad if it wasn't for the left throwing this gigantic hissy fit. So.... isn't that kinda like free advertising? A lot of free advertising! I'm betting the next quarter will show an increase in sales. Kinda like a reverse to the damage the Dylan Mulvaney ad had on Bud Lite. Whaddaya think?
Originally the New York shooter was declared white by the media and they ran with it with total enthusiasm. When it was discovered the New York shooter wasn't white as previously reported it decided to move on until they could find a actual white shooter.
And here's a thought or two. Why are some Cherokee vehicles white like Elizabeth Warren. The CIA will no longer use waterboarding on captives. They're going to read Kamala's new book to them instead. Then there's a new swirl that Kamala Harris is being influenced by the Russian agent... Smirnoff...... and she says she's backing away from politics to spend more time with Smirnoff. When a fat Hamas leader claims Gazans are being starved, should one have to wonder if it's because he's stealing their food? Pedophile is a really big word for the nine year old bride of a middle aged Muslim man and when feminists march in favor of Islam to they realize if Islam takes control their marching days are over?
How successful has socialism been anywhere? Well, if you had a $100 dollars for every time socialism didn't work, you'd have zero dollars. If you had a $100 dollars for every time it worked, you'd still have zero dollars. If Congress is incapable of passing a balanced budget, pay off the national debt, save Social Security and Medicare, why would we believe they're capable of predicting the what world's climate will be fifty years out, and altering the planets weather and temperature?
If liberals were merely stupid the laws of probability would dictate at least some of their decisions would serve American interests. If it's grossly unfair that the female athletes of the WNBA are being grossly underpaid compared to male counter parts in the NBA, in spite of the fact they're losing millions every year, then why is it fair men are grossly under paid compared to women in the fashion world that's making millions every year? However, here's an interesting thought. It takes the entire WNBA to match Stephen Colbert's losses of 40 to 50 million a year.
Final thought. The term "far right" really means to be right about everything?
