Truth is the sublime convergence of history and reality. Everything has an historical foundation and historical context. Everything we're told should bear some resemblance to what we see going on in reality. If what's presented to us fails in either on of those categories - it's wrong. All that's left to do is develop the intellectual response to explain why it's wrong.
Benjamin Franklin said the truth will very patiently wait for us. It's unfortunate we've lost sight of what the truth is. But perhaps it would be worthwhile to explore what it isn't.
The truth isn't politically correct or incorrect. The truth isn't hate speech. The truth isn't unkind. The truth isn't mean. The truth isn't moral or immoral. The truth isn't personal. The truth isn't political. The truth isn't predjudiced. The truth isn't racist. The truth isn't property.
It's just the truth!
