Maine Governor Refuses to Call Them Democrats, Calls Them Socialists

"Politicians are supposed to represent the Maine people, not special interests, not lobbyists and not a foreign socialist ideology."

Maine's generous welfare policies have led the state to be swamped by hordes of Somalis and other welfare-seekers who have brought crime, drugs and gang warfare to the formerly safe state. And they have overloaded the state budget.

Governor Paul LePage has taken a populist stance, pushing back against liberal welfare demands and pushing hard for reform. Instead of delivering a State of the State address, he wrote an amazing letter blasting the legislature and calling for real change.

"As you know, I have chosen to forego the pomp and circumstance of a live speech so we can spend our time and energy on what truly matters: getting work done for the Maine people," the governor wrote. Refusing to call them Democrats, he instead blasted them as Socialists. He clearly wants to hang the Bernie Sanders campaign around the necks of the Democratic Party......
