The Strange 'Black Lives Matter' Movement
By Rachel Alexander, on August 11th, 2015
The Black Lives Matter movement is a bizarre new phenomenon that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Instead of addressing real issues of racism, the activists focus on a few incidents where a black person has gotten into a deadly confrontation with law enforcement -- but where there doesn't appear to have been any racism. In many of the incidents, the officers themselves were black or Hispanic. The high-profile accusations and scrutiny have resulted in ruining the careers and reputations of many law enforcement officers, who are often forced to resign, subsequently facing civil lawsuits and even criminal charges......

Privilege and Preference
By John C. Velisek USN Ret, on August 10th, 2015
Media and Democrats have pushed the idea that blacks suffer discrimination at the hands of whites, in particular white policemen who they say are all too happy to shoot a black man to death. The actual numbers do not bear this out, and police are in a position of being accused of racial discrimination no matter what they do. This week alone, a black woman tried screaming rape when pulled over, and was only found to be lying when the dash cam video showed nothing like that had occurred. This same black woman also was a professor at the local college. Perhaps body cameras are a good idea, just to keep things like this from happening. But the question is, why do things like this happen? A good part of it is based on the leftist ideology of today in which the white man and America in general are blamed for the breakdown of the leftists own collectivism. The race based preferences forced on the people by the leftists who tell us they know better allow such groups as "Black Lives Matter" to be continually outraged and the excuse to lash out at those who disagree. The media and many politicians are complicit in the damage done by such groups as well. Black liberation theology is the scapegoat used by many as a pathway to victimhood, and a demand for handouts to make things better.......
