My Take - Okay, would someone once again explain to me why turning corn into ethanol is a good idea!
It seems to me the price of grain has skyrocketed all over the world, people are suffering from malnutrition, hunger and in some cases starvation because we're putting food in our gas tanks.
Okay, would someone once again explain to me why we need to put food in our gas tanks?
The lies about the world running out of oil have been clearly demonstrated so we're not running out of oil in any foreseeable future. That means plenty of gasoline.
The lies about ethanol being environmentally friendly have been clearly exposed. The land use, pesticide use, energy use, and water use as a part of ethanol production has been shown to not only be envriornmentally detrimental, it's impossible to make it economically viable.
So why are we putting food in our gas tanks? It would seem to me we're paying for expensive fuel we don't need in order to avoid using cheaper fuel we have in abundance. Does that sound insane to anyone besides me? Or perhaps I missed something. If so, would someone tell me what it was!
