Ohio Senate Race, Part IV

By Rich Kozlovich

This is the last in this series, here is Part I, Part II, Part III, and this piece by Sean Moran with updates.   I've been saving articles for Part IV since March for an October article, but, this is close enough.

Brown's campaign is much like the Democrat campaigns all over the nation, hatred for Republicans, conservatives and abject and unrestricted support for murdering the innocent unborn.... abortion, which Brown focuses on with ads, irritating ads.

He was also focusing on claims about reducing medical costs, and that must not have carried much weight, so now he's claiming Moreno is so corrupt he can't be trusted.  Moreno claims these attacks are a last resort to avoid having to deal with Browns record which is abysmal, as his voted 98% in support of Biden's programs.

Now that last part's all true.

It's also been reported Brown accepted donations from dead woman.  Was that a one off that could have easily gone unnoticed by Brown and his staff, or is that a pattern?  There are other fund raising issues and claims that have come to the fore giving credence to the claim his campaign is built on lies.

Is Moreno as corrupt as Brown claims?  I've tried to look up all the claims regarding lawsuits, and judgements, and I can't tell how valid any of that is.  But how can someone be as  corrupt as Brown claims and not end up in jail?  Unless of course that person's a Democrat.  And as we've seen, the courts have been corrupted and are part of the leftist strategy of destroying the rule of law and making the courts political catspaws of the leftist tyranny.  Is that what happened with Moreno?  I have no idea!

Brown never mentions his support of climate change, gender changing issues for children, unbridled illegal immigration, outrageous spending and borrowing, crime, and pushing America into another pointless ground war.

So, where does that leave us?  There are only two candidates, and one of them has a record that really is a far left, radical, destructive mess making him totally unacceptable, not to mention scary.

Discover the Networks, for those who aren't aware of it, is an amazing source and here's what they have to say about Sherrod Brown.

The other stands for America first, border security, ending lawfare, prevent court stacking, purge the deep state, and attacking the drug cartels, and typically conservative.   Perhaps Ohio needs to give the new guy a shot, since the old guy really is rotten.

Ohio Senate Race, Part III

By Rich Kozlovich

Since I'm retired I don't get around much any longer, nor do I see and talk to old friends often, which I miss a bit.  However, I still have a close friend I talk to regularly named Mike, who also owned a pest control company, and we were both heavily involved in our industry's trade associations in Ohio and nationally dealing with regulatory and legislative affairs.

Well, Mike is still politically involved, and he's a total conservative.  Many months ago I asked Mike who he liked as the Republican nominee for the Senate race.  Without pause or hesitation he said, Bernie Moreno, but he didn't think he has a chance. So I started doing some research and at that time I had to agree, he didn't look like he had any chance at all.  But, as it turns out, "It ain't over till it's over".

Following the axiom, "faint heart never won fair lady", Moreno worked hard to overcome all obstacles, and I liked him, so, I started looking up, tracking, and storing information about the candidates as source material for an article of my own, but I wanted to wait until the primary was closer to publish anything.

I published this on January 9, 2024, The Ohio Senate Race, outlining the positions and character of the candidates.  And this one is still worth viewing as it really outlines who Brown is and what he stands for, which I will keep addressing in coming months.  Make no mistake, the contrast between Brown and Moreno is stark.

On February 9th I published these links:

Ohio Senate Race, Part II, all of which were designed to totally distinguish the differences in thinking, character, and policy positions between Moreno and the other two Republican candidates.  Their positions versus the positions of Moreno were diametrically opposed, and theirs were actually far more in harmony with Brown.  The Republican leadership chose Dolan, a Mitt Romney clone.   The people of Ohio chose Moreno, and it's long overdue they dump the Republican leadership in Ohio.

This race went to the national media, at least the alternative media where most people look to for information these days.   On Breitbart, this was posted, ‘We’re Going to Get the America First Agenda Done’, saying:

Moreno — who defeated both State Sen. Matt Dolan (R) as well as Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose in the Buckeye State’s primary race for Sen. Sherrod Brown’s (D) Senate seat — said he can finally focus on taking down Brown and the Biden agenda. But over the next seven months, Biden will try to “recapture that extreme position in order to keep his base, so who knows what they’ll do, but it’s gonna be a tough next seven months,” Moreno warned before offering a positive outlook, predicting massive victories for the America First movement come November. ......

Another Breitbart piece Bernie Moreno Celebrates Primary Victory: ‘We Have an Opportunity to Retire the Old Commie’ saying:

Moreno spent much of his victory speech thanking many people who supported him and his campaign, including former President Donald Trump. “I also want to thank President Trump. I just got off the phone with President Trump. You know, the reality is we have an opportunity now,” Moreno said. “We have an opportunity now to retire the old commie and send him to a retirement home and then save this country because that’s what we’re gonna do,” he said. “And I want to thank President Trump for all he did for me, for this campaign, for his unwavering support, for his love of this country because I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody who loves this country the way he does. Thank you to President Trump,” he said, also thanking Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) for his support as well and offering kind words to his opponents......

If you go back to my first article, The Ohio Senate Race, you will see the stark contrast between what we're seeing Moreno professing, and who and what Sherrod Brown is, and that shall be the focus on my links and articles as the months progress.

Today I also published this piece, Election 2024: What Do You Believe?, saying:

As the 2024 Election is only eight months away we're seeing more hyperbolic lies, obfuscation, misdirection, and quite frankly, irrational and blatantly insane rhetoric supporting insane positions than I've seen in my almost 78 years.  What really surprises me is how many seemingly normal people are confused about who they think will be the best candidate for President or even Congress.

In Ohio there were three Republican candidates running for the Senate against Sherrod Brown, Bernie Moreno, Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Frank LaRose.  The only legitimate America first conservative was Bernie Moreno, who won with 50.5% of the vote.  But Ohio’s Republican leadership, including Governor DeWine, came out in support of Dolan. He and the other candidate were exposed as Mitt Romney RINO clones.......and yet Dolan and LaRose garnered 49.5% combined.   If Trump and Senator JD Vance hadn't supported Moreno, he might have lost.

 What were they thinking?

Well, since it seems entirely too many people lack clarity, so in that article, I listed 25 questions that those who are confused need to answer in order to end their confusion.  If you're confused, you may wish to read and answer them yourself.

Ohio Senate Race, Part II

By Rich Kozlovich

On January 9, 2024 I published this piece, The Ohio Senate Race noting that no matter who the Republicans pick they're going against Sherrod Brown, who isn't looking all that strong, and I outlined his positions showing why I think Ohio will send a Republican to the Senate in his place, with this link; Discover the Networks, for those who aren't aware of it, is an amazing source and here's what they have to say about Sherrod Brown.  However, if Dolan or LaRose get the nomination, I'm not sure Brown will lose as Ohioans may just see these two as Brown like clones.  We'll come back to that.

It seems all three Republicans are still in this race, Bernie Moreno, Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Frank LaRose.   Both Dolan and LaRose are "full blown amnesty supporters", which should disqualify both of them as candidates for any political office by every conservative value or standard.  The fact is Frank LaRose is now and has been a full blown Never Trumper, even calling Trump a racist.  Who supports LaRose?  I don't think anyone does, at least anyone of any consequence.

While Dolan isn't getting endorsements that are worth anything, he does have the support of the Ohio Republican Establishment, including DeWine and Portman.  And do you really need another reason to support Moreno over Dolan?

Well, how's this.  They're lending support for a man who is a "former globalist institute fellow State Sen. Matt Dolan. Dolan has a controversial history. He once served as a fellow for the Aspen Institute — a Soros-funded globalist institution — which the  Economist described the  as a “mountain retreat for the liberal elite."  Dolan is a globalist!  If elected he would just be another RINO myrmidon lacking even a modicum of conservative thought.

Whether Dolan and LaRose wanted Trump's endorsement or not is immaterial because Bernie Moreno got it, along with endorsements from “......15 of the top conservative Republican US Senators supporting my campaign,” he said.  That list includes Sens. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Tommy Tuberville (R-AR), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), and John Barrasso (R-WY)."

As of March 14th, it seems Matt Dolan was leading in the polls, but I've not believed in polls for over 30 years now, even if they agree with me.  Show me the crowds, and as far as I can tell, Moreno has them, Dolan doesn't.  While I don't care about the polls, let's just assume that poll is an honest poll. I have serious doubts those numbers will last very long because Trump is all in for Moreno, and torching Dolan in the process saying:

“Bernie is a political outsider who has spent his entire life building up Ohio communities—and now, he is going to be your warrior in Washington.......Bernie is strong on borders, and he will fight to crush the cartels that are flooding our towns with fentanyl and deadly drugs. Bernie will vote to SAVE the American Auto Industry from the Green New Scam, he will be tough on China, ferocious on crime, great on election integrity, he wants to get wokeness out of our military, and he will not let the Radical Left Democrats raise your taxes......Dolan as a “weak RINO” attempting “to become the next Mitt Romney.”

Ohio U.S. Senator JD Vance, who has been a outstanding conservative, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise, isn't just endorsing Moreno, he's in the trenches for Moreno joining "Moreno at six campaign events across the Buckeye State over the weekend leading up to Election Day on March 19."

As usual with leftist, they manage to create scandals out of thin air, and the media runs with it, corrupt to the core, and now the Associated Press had to admit to it's corruption.   Here was Ric Crenell's assessment:

"Ric Grenell, who was then-President Donald Trump’s acting director of national intelligence, told Breitbart News Saturday that political operatives are pushing the hit piece against Ohio Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno because they oppose “America First.”

“First of all, I think that Bernie Moreno must sue the Associated Press and even if that means making such a point where you put them into bankruptcy. I’m furious about what this reporter has done. He knew it was fake, the team, the Bernie Moreno team, presented all of the information. They knew it was fake........”

These misfits, including DeWine, Portman, and the entire Republican Party leadership are corrupt and  against all America First allies, and again, it's clear the Ohio Republican leadership is in dire need of being changed.

Update 3/18/24:  Law Professor Explains How the Associated Press Just Opened Themselves Up to a Massive Lawsuit- Matt Vespa March 18, 2024 - Republican Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno was slapped with nasty tricks during the primary's closing days. Ohioans go to the polls on March 19 to decide whether Moreno, endorsed by Trump, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and JD Vance, will prevail over Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose or State Sen. Matt Dolan. The race has tightened to the point where even Democrats are starting to meddle. Yet, one attack was particularly slimy: Moreno signed up on Adult Friend Finder in 2008, seeking the company of young men.  It's not true. The founder of Adult Friend Finder said when he analyzed the data, even though Moreno’s email address was used, it seemed to be an activity you’d see from a prank. Indeed, it was a prank, as a former intern already admitted as much. The Associated Press ran with the story, but even their communications director admitted they had nothing to corroborate it, opening the news outlet to a massive lawsuit. Jonathan Turley wrote if Moreno should file a lawsuit and it reaches the discovery phase; embarrassment can be re-directed at AP. Who wants some scalps? I do:

Exclusive: Bernie Moreno Would Highlight Contrast Between Populist Campaign and Sherrod Brown

Sean Moran

Ohio Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno said on Breitbart News Saturday that, if nominated to run against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), he would highlight his populist roots and how Brown is an entrenched elitist.  Moreno spoke with Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle about how he would message against Sen. Sherrod Brown, who is up for reelection in the increasingly red Buckeye State. The Ohio entrepreneur said he would highlight the stark contrast between his populist campaign and Brown’s elitist status...... To Read More....

  • Exclusive: Bernie Moreno Makes Case Against Democrat-Funded Frank LaRose, Former Globalist Fellow Matt Dolan -  By Sean Moran   - Ohio Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno made the case against Democrat megadonor-funded Frank LaRose and former globalist institute fellow State Sen. Matt Dolan (R) in an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday. Moreno spoke to Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle as an Emerson College poll found that he has surged by 12 points after former President Donald Trump endorsed his Senate bid. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has also endorsed Moreno.  “As you know, Matt, President Trump’s endorsement is the most powerful endorsement in modern political history. Incredibly proud and honored we got that endorsement,” Moreno said...........

The Ohio Senate Race

By Rich Kozlovich

Most of my readers know I was an exterminator for 40 years and owned my own company for 30, and I was heavily involved in my industry's affairs serving on the boards of four industry trade associations, and the governmental affairs committee for many years.  That kind of activity over a long period of time created friendships that are long lasting as pro bono trade association work brings out the character in people.

One of those friends was a man named Mike who bought a small company with three people around 30 years ago and turned it into a successful pest control company with 25 people.  He just sold it and I asked him if he was considering running for politics.  His answer was an emphatic NO!

Mike is involved politically, and being that involved with politicians you will meet some extraordinary people, but mostly not.  I find the more involved with politicians one becomes, the less one desires to be one.

At any rate, the Ohio Senate race is heating up, and I asked Mike last year who he liked.  He unhesitatingly said:  Bernie Moreno.  But then said he doesn't think he has a chance, and at that time, I had to agree.  Boy-o-Boy, Yogi Berra was right.  "It ain't over till it's over"!  Whoever the Republicans pick, they're going to be running against Sherrod Brown, so let's explore this.

Discover the Networks, for those who aren't aware of it, is an amazing source and here's what they have to say about Sherrod Brown:

  1. Supports the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Hamas-affiliated enemy of Israel.  Brown has been an opponent of Israel’s embargo of Gaza, which the Jewish state put into effect in 2007 to prevent the Gaza-based terror group Hamas from from acquiring weapons of war from Iran and other allies abroad. In June 2011 he wrote that CAIR had made many valuable contributions to society, and that he himself wished to help Americans “build understanding about Islam.
  2. Praised the corrupt, pro-socialist community organization ACORN, the pro-socialist raised notoriously corrupt community organization ACORN as a “terrific” and “articulate” group.
  3. Praised the anti-capitalist Occupy Wall Street movement.
  4. Supported Obamacare.
  5. As a member of the House of Representatives he immediately became part of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which is in practical terms a front for the far left and the Communist Party.
  6. Brown’s Ohio Secretary of State office awarded a certificate of recognition to Rick Nagin, chairman of the state’s Communist Party USA chapter, for having registered more than 2,000 voters during his failed campaign for Cleveland City Council. In 2003, Brown served on the advisory committee of the Progressive Majority.
  7. When Brown ran for the Senate in 2006, his campaign was supported by the Ohio Democratic Socialists of America, the Peace Action PAC, and the Progressive Democrats of America. Other groups that have backed Brown over the years include the 21st Century Democrats, the Council for a Livable World, the J Street PAC, and the League of Conservation Voters

Is there any leftist insanity of which he doesn't approve?  Well, none that I can see.  How anti-capitalist and deluded is Brown? He claims grocery price inflation isn't due to the stupid tax and spend policies of the Biden administration and Congress.  Noooo, it's the fault of capitalists due to bonuses and buybacks.  Is there anything about Brown that's appealing?

Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Frank LaRose are running against Moreno for the Republican nomination, and I don't know who, or if, anyone has endorsed LaRose, but Matt Dolan was endorsed by East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway.  That was just in November.

Dolan doesn't seem to be concerned about endorsements, and since he's not getting many anyway, or any that count, that view is meaningless.  He feels since he has the most cash (that's debatable) he doesn't need a lift by anyone.  He also claims both Moreno and LaRose are running hoping for a Trump endorsement.  And that's bad why?  And why exactly is that an argument for him? It also seems a bit arrogant since he lost against JD Vance who did have Trump's endorsement.

He also claims he can outperform Trump in Cuyahoga County, so that makes him viable.  Cuyahoga county?  Really?  That Cleveland county is so deep it the Democrat party pool they're drowning.  And he thinks that's an argument "for" him versus an argument "against" him?  And since he says he's a "doer" he can beat Sherrod Brown.  Remarkable!   Well, maybe he could beat Sherrod Brown, maybe not, but can he beat Bernie Moreno?

I'm not really seeing much about LaRose, and what little I know about him isn't a ringing endorsement for him.  Both Dolan and LaRose are "full blown amnesty supporters", which should disqualify both of them as candidates for any political office by every conservative value or standard.  The fact is Frank LaRose is now and has been a full blown Never Trumper, even calling Trump a racist.  And now, according to Dolan, he wants Trump's endorsement?   Imagine that.

“Frank LaRose isn’t just a casual anti-Trumper, he’s well known in Ohio political circles for having a burning hatred of Trump — which is why he refused to endorse him in either 2016 or 2020 and repeatedly criticized him during his time in office,” an Ohio Republican operative told Breitbart News. “Now that he’s running for Senate he’s pretending to be a pro-Trump conservative, but the real Frank LaRose is an anti-Trump, John Kasich-style RINO.”

Wow!  Being linked and compared to Kasich!  Now that's a stinging indictment if there ever was one. That should disqualify him as a candidate for any elected office by every conservative voter in Ohio.  I'm predicting LaRose will drop out soon and endorse Dolan, or who knows, given his strange views, he may even endorse Brown.  That brings me to Moreno.

In October an Emerson College poll had Dolan ahead of Brown by two points, LaRose was one point ahead, and Moreno trailed Brown by two points.   That same Emerson poll in November declared Brown was now ahead of all his opponents.   I've not believed in polls for thirty years, even when they agree with me.  But let's say all that's true, lets take a look at two of Yogi Berra's Yogi-isms.

  • "It ain't over till it's over".
  • "When you come to a fork in road take it."

What's all that mean?  He's saying you don't give up just because the going is getting a little tough, and when it comes time to make a decision, make it, and then live with it.  Well Bernie Moreno didn't quit, and he made his decision. He's running a $2 million ad campaign.

What's he stand for?
  1. Put America first.
  2. Finish the wall and secure our southern border.
  3. Wipe the Mexican drug cartels off the face the earth.
  4. He's clearly outraged about about all these phony indictments against Trump saying:
  5. Any GOP candidate for office who is too weak to fight back against Dems weaponizing the Justice System against President Trump doesn't deserve your vote. Here are 5 simple policy responses that all Republicans should get behind:
    • 1. Begin impeachment proceedings immediately against President Joe Biden.
    • 2. Begin impeachment proceedings immediately against Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray.
    • 3. Use the power of the purse to defund the witch hunts against former President Trump.
    • 4 Commit to placing a hold on all of Biden's Judicial nominees to stop him from stacking the courts with more radicals.
    • 5. Publicly support Sen.'s plan to block all of Biden's DOJ nominees.

Tell me, what's there to dislike?  Apparently a lot of his views are liked by Donald Trump. In December former President Donald Trump endorsed Bernie Moreno for the Senate Race, saying:'

“Bernie Moreno, a highly respected businessman from the GREAT State of Ohio, is exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate,”.........“Bernie will always stand up to the Fascist “nut jobs” and the spineless RINOS in order to fight the corrupt Deep State that is destroying our Country. Remember, we need a successful political outsider like Bernie to defeat Liberal career politician, Sherrod Brown, who has so poorly represented Ohio, and pretends that he’s all for the Policies of your Favorite President, Donald J. Trump, but then gets to the Senate and votes 100% for the horrendous Policies of Crooked Joe Biden, the worst President in the History of our Country.”

And yesterday, January 8, 2024, along with endorsements already from Trump, Marco Rubio and Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, Jim Jordan lent his support for Moreno saying he's a “true America First conservative” and “political outsider.”   Before this is all over, I'm expecting to see endorsements literally rain on his campaign, along with far more money than Dolan will raise, other than his own.

Both Dolan and Moreno are multimillionaires, and both have invested millions of their own money in their campaigns, but at some point, the hand writing will be on the wall.  As far as I can tell, outside of the money they've personally invested in their campaigns, Moreno is raising a lot of money, and Dolan isn't.
