Creating Rich Societies

While teaching in China last week, I shared this chart with students to emphasize the point that poverty has been the norm throughout human history.

It was only a couple of hundred years ago that free markets emerged and parts of the world began to get rich.

The moral of the story is that good policy creates good outcomes.

But how do you get good policy? To help answer that question, Johan Norberg has a must-read article at Human Progress.

He starts by explaining that elites often like the status quo and are thus resistant to change and innovation.

Economic, intellectual, and political elites in every society have built their power on specific methods of production… The vested interests have an incentive to stop or at least control innovations that risk upsetting the status quo. They try to reimpose orthodoxies and reduce the potential for surprises… An escape from stagnation requires a culture of optimism and progress to justify and encourage innovation, and it takes a particular politico-economic system to give people the freedom to engage in the continuous creation of novelty.

He then explains that this stifling approach eventually was overcome, starting in western Europe.

Why? In large part because of jurisdictional competition, which encouraged the creation of classical liberal societies.

Luckily, this culture emerged forcefully in western Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, in the form of….classical liberalism, which removed political barriers to thought, debate, innovation, and trade. …Why did this happen in Europe, and why then? …elites everywhere reacted to surprising innovations by trying to enforce political authority and intellectual orthodoxy. What made Europe different was that the elites failed. Unlike the Chinese or Ottoman empires, Europe was blessed with political and jurisdictional fragmentation…

Europe was split into a mindboggling array of polities, independent cities, autonomous universities, and different religious denominations. Hundreds of different sovereigns could not coordinate repression and impose one orthodoxy on all. That always left room for thinkers, entrepreneurs, and banned books to migrate to the jurisdiction most hospitable to their particular heresy. …

Fear of change therefore began to give way to a fear of stagnation. …The associated classical liberal transformation, pioneered by the Dutch Republic, and then taken further by Great Britain and the United States, simultaneously widened the freedom for new experiments and enterprises through greater equality under the law, more secure property rights, and freer domestic economy and expanding markets.

For all intents and purposes, societies based on classical liberalism allowed “creative destruction.”

That meant innovation and that meant higher living standards. Unimaginably higher living standards.

All of which helps to explain why it’s very important to preserve jurisdictional competition. As Johan explained, governments are far more likely to allow innovation and disruption if they are competing with other governments.

In other words, we must reject global governance.

Global Warming is All About Global Governance, and Global Tyranny

If you favor globalization it means favoring global governance, if you favor global warming and this net zero insanity, you favor world tyranny, since that’s the intent behind globalization and this global warming farce. 

Here’s reality. If you play straight with cheaters, you lose, whether it involves economics, the environment, or politics. If countries or activist groups aren’t playing straight, then don’t play!  Because if you do, they get bigger, richer and more dangerous, and the straight shooters get poorer, smaller and defenseless.  

Nixon's  and Kissinger's bringing China into the world's economy is the perfect example. After Mao’s Cultural Revolution China’s economy, and the Chinese Communist Party, were heading for the ash heap of history. Nixon prevented that by opening China to world trade, and now we’re seeing the consequences.  

China is now a superpower, and opening up to world trade didn't generate liberal democracy in China nor any other dictatorial/socialist nation.  Now the democratic nations of the world world are groveling at the feet of the Chinese Communist Party.  And these tyrannous nations became all the more dictatorial because they've now been provide with the economic wherewithal to do so.  Now they're a threat to western civilization.  

China now has the largest navy in the world, and has a massive military.  The west is funding all this.  And what does China want?  The destruction of the United States, and Chinese hegemony over western civilization with a form of world governance they dominate. 

The western world's nations are helping them to do that by committing economic suicide in their efforts to go green, insisting this is absolutely necessary to save the world. No more drilling for oil, no more coal, no more nuclear power, total and complete submission to the secular worship of "alternative renewable energy".

Wind and solar energy are totally incapable of providing the necessary energy for humanities needs, both of which are environmental nightmares.  And batteries aren't the answer, not to mention they're really dangerous.   

As for these economic "carbon offset" schemes, Olivia Murray notes, were ‘probably junk’ that did nothing to negate pollution.  And the scam continues, lucratively I might add.   Olivia Murray asks, have the greenies ever heard of these crazy things called trees?  Yeah they've heard of them and in order to generate clean energy’ California is going to "bulldoze 3,500 Joshua trees, so coastal homes can go ‘carbon neutral’

Let's delve into this suicidal pact for the fantasy of Net Zero.  Milt Davis in his article,  The Other Side Of The Climate Change Coin, states:

At the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year, a group of influential individuals suggested that implementing carbon taxes is necessary. They also mentioned that the required framework to implement these taxes is already in place and must be implemented. It was also noted that obtaining more funding and reaffirming the global necessity to combat climate change will be crucial at the upcoming COP29 and COP30 events. However, the previous climate forum, COP28, faced challenges as the meeting's president acknowledged that there was no scientific basis for the fast-paced fossil fuel phaseout agenda.

There is an expression that says if you tell a lie long enough and often enough, people will believe it. By their own admission, there is no scientific basis for the fast-paced fossil fuel phaseout agenda. In other words, the entire story is being fabricated.

In a run away power grab WHO wants to tie all pandemics to global warming, and it's all a fraud.   In 1989 it was predicted by the year 2000 entire nations would be wiped off the face of the Earth, and the nation's of the world only had ten more years to solve the problem of "green house gases" because all the polar icecaps would then be melted causing the world oceans to rise covering islands and coastal cities.  Oops! 

By now the and Antarctic was supposed to have melted to such a degree it would flood the coastal cities.  That was a load of horsepucky, and once again, time and truth are on the same side.  Time and again when you look at their claims of disaster they're invariably fraudulent, and an obfuscation of truth, and in spite of all the evidence of how fraudulent this all is, this propaganda is still being fed to college students working for academic degrees that would stop "phony climate calamities."  

The nation needs cheap, reliable, readily available energy, and that means drilling, hydro power, nuclear power, coal, and natural gas.  Energy independence is essential to any nations well being, and that's what Trump gave America, and that's what Biden took it away.  

The issue isn't global warming, that's the excuse.  The issue is global governance, and there will be no end to the impositions that will be placed on humanity.  And make no mistake, controlling our lives is who and what they are.  The leftists have politicized everything to that end, "because they know best".  

You don't have enough intelligence or depth of understanding to make you're own life choices, so, a tyrannous worldwide system of government is necessary  imposing deep state tyranny.  You will own nothing, you will eat bugs and you will like it....or else!

Funny though, I can't find one Marxist/Socialist successful society that's successful, and China isn't successful, it's being catered to.  I think you will find this article by Mark Lewis, Marx and the Democrats to be profound!

Chamber of Commerce Details Globalist Agenda: Impose Unlimited Immigration, Ink More Free Trade Deals

A Revolution of Truth

Gates or Germany? Who ‘Owns’ the WHO’s COVID-19 Response?

The Issue Isn't Animal Rights or Global Warming. It's Global Governance

 A couple of days ago JD Rucker posted this piece, Unfazed Dude Eats Shish Kabob in NYC as Animal Rights Activists Rant Incoherently in His Face, and make sure to watch the video.  He goes on to say:

It’s hard to find more obnoxious people than those who populate the various environmentalist movements. Whether they are blocking traffic, dumping blood on themselves, or gluing their hands to priceless pieces of art, never has a movement done more to turn the general public against them.

You have to watch the video to get the full effect of what’s happening as the guy silently chows down. The first woman cusses him out, telling him he’s going to die alone before storming off, but it’s the second woman who takes the cake. She starts flailing as if she’s having a seizure, accusing the man of having child-sized genitalia while screaming that he’s got blood on his face and hands. In other words, these people are mentally ill.

You know, alcohol gets blamed for a lot of things it never did.  People did those things, and I think just about everyone at some time in their life, especially in our younger and dumber years, has had a bit drop to much of their favorite elixir, acted up, looked like idiots, and the next day was embarrassed for their stupidity.  But these environment misfits don't have that excuse.  They're sober, they like acting like maniacs, they're not embarrassed at all.  They actually live their lives like some drunk who has lost control of his senses, and do it with an insufferable air of self-righteousness. 

So, I would like to take this moment to thank them.  No intellectual argument against them has quite as good an impact on those observing from the sidelines as exposure to the reality of these misfits.  Rude, crude and stupid, and they want to run your life.  And they're all cogs in the apparatus of of a large international cabal.

And make no mistake, controlling our lives is who and what they are.  The leftists have politicized everything to that end and are trying to impose deep state tyranny right now just in case they lose power.  Who voted in California to ban gasoline driven cars by 2035?  Not the citizens of California, nor did they in any other state who has said they follow California.   Nor did they in Australia.  

There's no end to the things these misfits want to control.  You're watering the lawn?  Oh, no!  That's waste they don't approve of.  You eat meat?  No, no, no!  They don't approve, so worms are a great alternative.   At least until there's a movement to defend the "civil rights" of earth worms. 

Science justifies a pandemic tyranny!  Except time and truth are on the same side. The world's economy must be destroyed to prevent the catastrophe of ?  Except their science is devoid of reality.

Winston Churchill is alleged to have said:  "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last".  Well, whether he said if or not is immaterial to the reality of that statement.
