My Interview With California Governor Gavin Newsom (PARODY)

By Robin Itzler @ American Thinker

California Governor Gavin Newsom will talk to anyone to get his name in the news, including the free national weekly Patriot Neighbors. Editor Robin Itzler recently sat down with the soon-to-be-termed-out governor to discuss an array of issues, including his upcoming presidential campaign.

Robin: Thank you for meeting with me in between your rallies supporting illegal alien gang members. Even ICE agents showed up at your August 14 event in Los Angeles.

Gavin Newsom: Yes, we had a massive 100 people inside, and illegal aliens outside.

Robin: It’s been reported that many leftist rally goers are paid to attend.

Gavin Newsom: Hmm, I will ask George Soros today when he and I have lunch.

Robin: Is the rally what brought you to Southern California?

Gavin Newsom: That and looking for the $100 million raised in the FireAid concert for the January fire victims.

Robin: Did you find the $100 million? It’s reported that little to no money went to victims of the fire.

Gavin Newsom: The money might be in the same place as the billions of dollars for the high-speed rail. I am looking for that money, too.

Robin: Speaking of the January fires, more than structures were destroyed. By the six-month anniversary in early July, of the 800 rebuild permits requested from homeowners in the Palisades, Altadena, and surrounding areas, only 145 had been approved. Plus, you are talking about replacing single-family homes with low-income apartment buildings and dramatically changing the personalities of these communities that burned to the ground due to Democrat incompetence.

Gavin Newsom: Yes! Aren’t I doing a great job? By the way, if you want to take my photo, let me put more gel on my hair.

Robin: Governor, doesn’t it concern you that Californians are leaving the state due to your incompetence?

Gavin Newsom: Not really. Californians who are leaving are most likely pesky Republicans who believe in such ridiculous things as God and Judeo-Christian values, that parents should raise their own children, a child’s birth gender shouldn’t be changed, abortion is murder, illegal immigrants should be given citizenship, men can play in female sports, and homeless tents enhance parks. ¡Adiós, Republicanos!

Robin: But you can’t have a successful state economy without a strong middle class, and those are the folks leaving California! If you look at any communist country, they have the rich and poor but lack a middle class.

Gavin Newsom: Oh, please! Look how well Venezuela is doing!

Robin: Let’s focus on California. As you travel the country, what statistics can you cite to make people want to elect you president?

Gavin Newsom: Oh, there are a lot of great accomplishments I can tout. For instance, while the country’s unemployment rate is 4.2 percent, California leads the nation with 5.5 percent.

Also, I am pleased that California has the highest homeless population in the United States. In 2024, we had one-quarter of the nation’s homeless population.

And I am most proud that California has the highest income tax rate among our 50 states.

Robin: But...

Gavin Newsom: Please don’t interrupt me as I highlight how California leads the nation.

California also leads the nation with the most illegal aliens. And I am proud to add that within that number, there are many criminals and gang members that we are stopping ICE from apprehending.

Robin: Can you really gerrymander the state more than it’s been? Currently, Republicans only have nine of 52 congressional districts, although we are 40 percent of the vote. That’s a paltry 17 percent of California House Republicans!

Gavin Newsom: I want to make California’s representation in the House fairer. That’s why I would reduce the number of Republican representatives from nine to five. Who knows? It might get more Republicans to move out of the state!

Robin: Does it bother you that President Trump and many others say there’s empty space underneath your hair?

Gavin Newsom: What about my hair? Does it look okay? Should I brush it?

Robin: Your hair looks its usual gelly gook. Governor Newsom, do you really think you can win a national presidential election?

Gavin Newsom: Of course, I can! First off, Republicans foolishly put out maps of the United States showing that the nation is mostly red. That might be true if you are just counting congressional districts, but many of those are small districts. It’s a meaningless map because Democrats own the big cities.

Second, most blue states have election integrity in the same way that Joe Biden had mental acuity. California is the blueprint for holding elections and then counting questionable ballots until you get the results you want.

Robin: Sir, why are you admitting this?

Gavin Newsom: Why not? Nothing has drastically changed since the 2020 election. Republican politicians or organizations foolishly announce that they’ve removed “x” number of dead voters from the rolls, and you Republicans clap like seals. By the next election, we will find more dead people to vote. Or we will mail 20 ballots to a Democrat’s home with just two registered voters. Or we will give away free hamburgers on college campuses the day before Election Day and gather provisional ballots that we count weeks after the election. Or we let people vote as many times as they want. Best of all, we do not ask for proof of residency.

However, I do have one major worry.

Robin: What is it?

Gavin Newsom: That the Republican Congress will pass, and President Trump will sign, an election integrity law making things the way they used to be: One day voting in local precincts with exceptions for the military, paper ballots, and proof of citizenship. The last thing I want is for California to hold honest elections!

I can go on and on, but I must get to a meeting. A Chinese company wants me for their jeans commercial.

Robin: Well, thank you for your time. Just know that I will do everything in my power to keep you from destroying America the way you have destroyed California.

Gavin Newsom: You’re welcome. Are you going to take my photo? Does my hair look good? Where’s my comb? Do you have a mirror? Can someone get me a mirror?

How Gov. Gavin Newsom Killed 30 People

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

On a warm spring night in ‘21, Tonya Molina was found strangled to death in a motel room. Molina, a 43-year-old mother, had been on vacation. She met Santiago Contreras, a transgender criminal who had been serving time for stalking and assault, before being released by Gov. Gavin Newsom with nothing but an ankle monitor. Contreras, a man who had told prison officials that he was struggling as a transgender woman, cut off the monitor and killed Tonya.

Tonya Molina was one of 30 people killed by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ‘early releases’ of criminals.

Even as Gov. Newsom engaged in an unprecedented lockdown of the state, as local officials chased surfers off beaches, filled skate parks with sand, roped off benches and cut power to small businesses, he also began releasing criminals to terrorize the state.

“It’s always been top of mind, it’s always been a point of concern,” Gov. Newsom said of reported COVID cases at San Quentin prison, promising to expedite the release of what he claimed were “low-risk” criminals. Contreras would have been considered “low risk”.

Those releases ultimately amounted to 14,800 criminals freed and many more that were not even held because Newsom also suspended the intake of new criminals into prisons.

1 in 4 of Newsom’s criminals were back behind bars in less than three years. 1 in 3 are back in prison in total. And these numbers continue to grow. 4,600 of the released criminals have been put back behind bars on charges ranging from murder to rape to assault and robbery.

Some preyed on children.

The “low risk” criminals released by Newsom included a man who had “unlawful sex with a victim under 16″, another man who had “sold drugs to more than 100 minors” and was then sent back to prison for “rape with force / violence / fear of a minor 14 years of age or older”.

While the full number of victims on Newsom’s crime wave is unknown, we do know that there were 30 murders committed by the men freed by the governor in response to pandemic fears.

The so-called “COVID-outbreak” in San Quentin that led to nationwide media coverage, condemnations and calls for action resulted in 26 deaths in a prison population of over 3,000..

More people were killed by COVID prison releases than by the San Quentin “outbreak”.

An ‘outbreak’ at Folsom State Prison, made famous by Johnny Cash, had only 2 deaths out of over 3,000. Nevertheless it was targeted for early release because of the “large populations of high-risk patients.” Other outbreaks proved equally underwhelming.

There were nearly 10,000 COVID deaths in California nursing homes and only 265 deaths in California prisons. The vast majority of inmates who died of COVID were older. There were only 34 COVID deaths among criminals under 55, 80 deaths among the 55-64 population, 83 deaths among those 65-74 and 43 deaths among criminals over 75.

Had Gov. Newsom limited early releases to criminals over 55, he would have dealt with the age range at risk for 86% of COVID prison deaths.

Newsom and California Democrats chose not to do that because the purpose was not to save criminals from COVID, but to use COVID as an excuse to free as many criminals as possible.

The full total of Gov. Newsom’s victims is unknown, but in addition to the 30 murders, there were fatal drunk driving incidents and some 460 assaults with an unknown total number of victims, but we should assume that in addition to the murders there were at least 460 assault victims.

Newsom’s criminals also carried out at least 400 burglaries with a similarly unknown number of victims that begins at 400. There were at least 180 or so second degree robberies, car thefts and domestic abuse cases each from Newsom’s total. Combined together that sets a toll of at least 1,430 crime victims. And those are only the 1,430 crimes for which we have any kind of statistical information among the 4,600 repeat offenders.

Since other crimes, especially sexual assault and child abuse, are not listed and criminals typically commit more than one crime before being arrested, the actual numbers of Newsom’s victims would be much higher than this partial list of crimes.

However even these 1,430 crime victims represent over 800 violent assaults on Californians.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said of freeing criminals that “we still have a lot more work to do in that space and we recognize our responsibility to do so.” The over 800 victims of Newsom’s violent crime spree are a tragic testament to his hard work in freeing criminals across California.

During COVID, Gov. Newsom locked down ordinary citizens and unlocked prison doors to set loose murders, rapists, robbers and the worst monsters to prey on a helpless citizenry which had been discouraged from leaving their houses or making contact with their fellow human beings. Isolated and afraid they fell victim to thousands of criminals who did not care about wearing masks, practicing social distancing or any of the other regulations imposed by Newsom.

While children were prevented from going to school and small businesses were forced to shut their doors, parks were gated off and people were warned against strolling through the beach, California’s criminals, set loose by Gov. Newsom, enjoyed an unprecedented crime spree.

In one year, murders shot up from 1,679 to 2,202, car thefts from 140,372 to 168,046, and arsons from 8,266 to 11,759. Californians learned to live in terror of disease, of each other and of crime.

There are at least 30 deaths on Gov. Gavin Newsom’s hands, and unknown numbers of sexual assaults, including against children as young as 14 years old who had their lives destroyed.

Now Gov. Newsom claims that crime in California is down. What he forgets to mention is that it’s only going down because the criminals he released are slowly being sent back to prison.

Voters Hold Gavin Newsom to the Fire

Presidential hopes may have been incinerated.

By | Jan 24, 2025 @ Liberty Nation News, Tags: Articles, Opinion, Politics

As pomp and circumstance unfolded in the Capitol Rotunda for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, from the opposite coast, Gov. Gavin Newsom watched his own presidential dreams go up in smoke. Newsom now faces a much angrier electorate than his post-COVID lockdown voters who lost their businesses, livelihoods, and homes. This time the voters he may soon face lost the lives of family members and treasured pets, saw entire neighborhoods charred to the ground, and have nowhere to go but out of the state.

The smiling, tone-deaf governor of California was too busy trying to Trump-proof his state to notice his fire department first responders had no water with which to battle the raging flames that destroyed the Pacific Palisades, Hurst, and the unincorporated village of Eaton. The fires are not yet contained, although the Santa Ana winds that fueled the flames have died down somewhat. A rebuilding effort – a la Marshall Plan-style – could cost tens of billions of dollars. Everyone else’s dollars. But will Newsom still be around to see it?

Recall Gavin Newsom Chants Catching Fire

As Newsom focused on his special legislative session dedicated to preventing President Donald Trump’s policies from tainting the Golden State, firefighters discovered in real time what poor management had done to protect California. Trump was and is the least of the state’s problems. At the top of the leadership heap, Newson is under fire for not only fumbling the response but also being woefully ill-prepared for the inferno to begin with — hydrants ran dry and one state reservoir sat empty during an extremely dry, unseasonably hot and blustery fire season. No one was minding the store as months and months passed, building the perfect conditions for an inferno.

Newsom had the audacity to grin during an interview, speaking about investors buying up the destroyed neighborhoods — not his shining leadership moment. And although the man is not slated to leave office until 2027, his neck is on the recall chopping block again. The latest effort is run by Randy Economy, who told Newsweek it’s not Newsom’s to rebuild. “How dare he? It’s up to the 10,000, 15,000 homes that have been destroyed,” Economy huffed. “It’s up to the people.”

During a presser on Thursday, January 23, SavingCaliforniaVote publicly announced its recall against the Golden State governor. The organization will gather the required signatures for the notice of intent to recall and plan to serve the governor later within the week.

Newsom’s people bristled and stuck to the talking points assigned: “Readers still should have the context that the same group of far-right Trump acolytes have launched six different recall attempts against the governor since he’s taken office, each of which have (sic) failed spectacularly,” spokesperson Nathan Click told Newsweek on Monday (Jan. 20).

Economy wasn’t stymied and blasted away: “This is emblematic of who he is as a leader, and I think this is emblematic of who he is as a politician, and he has no depth. So, therefore, we are taking the extraordinary steps to officially recall him.”

Newsom’s Marshall Plan

The Marshall Plan was enacted in 1948 to help war-ravaged Europe regain its feet and assist the populations of embattled countries to stave off starvation and create paying jobs. The following countries participated in the plan: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Western Germany, the UK, and the United States. It created its own layer of bureaucracy – the Economic Cooperation Administration — and doled out about $13 billion for economic aid, designed to restore industrial and agricultural production, expand trade, and establish financial stability. It worked.

However, it will not work for a regional aid package in California. Liberty Nation News Economics Editor Andrew Moran explained:

“Gov. Newsom has pledged to usher in a 21st-century Marshall Plan for California following the devastating wildfires. However, his brand of Gavinomics has failed to foster success before and after these natural disasters. Housing and homelessness are two issues that have worsened, even as the state government has dedicated an exorbitant amount of taxes, resources, and manpower. California has fallen short of its new housing efforts, while homelessness has spiraled out of control.

Everything that has transpired in The Golden State can be understood by reading legendary Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek, who warned about the unavoidable outcomes of central planning. Hayek stated that the central planners, no matter how well-intentioned, did not possess the sufficient knowledge (or omnipotence) required to allocate resources efficiently. Instead, Newsom Nation has fostered a top-down approach to various portfolios, which can be challenging for local governments since people are fleeing the state in massive numbers.”

Early estimates suggest the total damage and economic loss due to the wildfires could range between $60 billion and a high of $130 billion — far exceeding the current record of $16 billion.

Angry People Sign and Vote

To recall the governor, petition signatures must equal at least 12% of the votes cast in the previous election. In the last gubernatorial contest, about ten million people voted – so, give or take, 1.3 million voters would have to sign on to the recall effort. “It’s about 9,000 signatures a day,” Economy said. “That should be no problem.”

Scapegoating Climate to Hide Callous Government Malfeasance

Abject failures from Biden, Newsom, LAFD and others can no longer be ignored

By Paul Driessen

Wildfires near Los Angeles have left Pacific Palisades looking like Dresden after the WWII fire-bombings. Over 12,000 homes, schools and businesses have been incinerated, dozens of people have died, at least 70,000 have been left homeless, and fires still rage. AccuWeather estimates that just two of the fires will destroy $135-150 billion in property! It’s a doubly horrific tragedy, because most of the death and devastation could have been prevented.

California has 33,000,000 acres of federal, state and private forestland – equivalent to Wisconsin. As the state’s population expanded, forests and wildlife increasingly merged with human habitats. And yet federal and state land managers – compelled by ideology, activists, legislators and judges – have steadfastly refused to permit timber cutting, tree thinning or brush removal, or take other actions that would reduce the likelihood of conflagrations.

So many trees are so jammed together now that they’re starved for space, water, nutrients and sunlight. Many are diseased. They are skinny matchsticks, primed to erupt in flames. Some 36,000,000 trees died just in 2022, across just 8% of these forestlands. But even dead and diseased trees are rarely removed.  Rainy fall and winter months stimulate tree, brush and grass growth. Parched summers dry everything out. Extended dry periods leave all this fuel ready to ignite for more months.

Lightning, sparks from cars or power lines, campfires and arsonists set areas aflame. Dry Santa Ana winds (40-70 mph, with gusts of 120-150 mph) whip fires into infernos. Depleted, defunded fire departments often arrive long after they could extinguish fires in their infancy.

The conflagrations generate still more powerful winds that carry embers, branches, even small trees thousands of feet – often into communities that are ill-prepared to cope. This barely begins the litany of California government failures that help cause repeated fire calamities. However, state and local politicians adroitly avoid responsibility. Their most common excuse is manmade climate change.

They even have a new fear-inducing term: hydroclimate whiplash! Fossil-fuel-driven climate change supposedly brought two exceptionally wet winters, spurring unprecedented plant growth – and then caused unprecedented arid conditions and previously unheard-of Santa Ana winds that made these infernos unpredictable but inevitable. Calling the massive, repeated government failures “incompetence” is too generous. Deliberate, callous, destructive malfeasance is more apt. Criminal may be appropriate.

Governor Gavin Newsom wants a special session to discuss spending $25-50 million to “Trump-proof” state policies. He wants to use a new $10-billion “climate bond” to reduce farm and ranch greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, improve “equitable access to nature,” build more parks in “disadvantaged communities,” upgrade ports to handle deepwater offshore wind projects, and more.

California is still pouring billions into EV subsidies, its “clean” energy transition, and the $100-billion “bullet train to nowhere.” It’s spending more billions supporting “sanctuary” status for illegal immigrants, maintaining gender and DEI programs, and ministering to America’s largest number of homeless people – which will now include 70,000+ who’ve lost everything to the 2025 wildfires.

One wonders whether they’ll treat these now-homeless taxpayers as well as they have illegal populations. Legislated restrictions on how companies may conduct fire-risk assessments and what rates they can charge for homeowners insurance in high-fire-risk areas have caused insurers to leave the state or stop issuing new policies. Hundreds of thousands of families are now uninsured, underinsured or dependent on the state’s FAIR Plan, which has only $385 million in reserves.

Meanwhile, California devoted only $2.6 billion to “forest and wildfire resilience” across all state-managed forestlands, including Topanga State Park, where the fires started, right next to what once was Pacific Palisades – versus $14.7 billion for EVs and “clean renewable energy.”

With memories of the horrific 2018 Paradise (Camp) fire still causing nightmares, Mayor Karen Bass cut $17.6 million from the Los Angeles Fire Department budget, fired 100 firefighters who didn’t get Covid vaccines, and was partying at an embassy reception in Ghana as the fires erupted LA Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley (salary: $654,000) has spent millions on DEI programs and hiring more women, gays and minorities. Deputy/Diversity Chief Kristine Larson (salary: $307,000) says victims want to see emergency responders that “look like” them, and if she isn't strong enough to carry your husband out of a fire, he “got himself in the wrong place.”

They then failed to keep extra firefighters and firetrucks on duty as winds picked up just before the first forest fires were spotted – apparently to avoid paying overtime. That meant the LAFD couldn’t get there before fires roared out of control. Exhausted firefighters trying to save multi-million-dollar homes in Palisades ran out of water. A major reason was that LA Water and Power Department CEO Janisse QuiƱones (salary: $750,000) had the 117-million-gallon Santa Ynez Reservoir drained to repair cracks in its base.

A full reservoir would have replenished huge storage tanks that feed and pressurize local fire hydrants. QuiƱones has said her “number one” priority is equity and social justice. Does that explain why the reservoir was drained in February 2024; no contractor was hired until November 2024; and even then no workers, equipment or materials were in place for 24/7 repairs? Just as callously incompetent, why was there no plan (or no action taken) to utilize fireboats, tugboats, barges and other vessels from Long Beach Harbor and the San Diego Navy Base?

Many are equipped with water storage, pumps, hoses and nozzles. They could spray seawater directly on coastal homes or run hoses ashore to connect to fire hydrant systems. Some salt would remain in soils and kill some plants. However, the choice should be easy. Lose some prized vegetation to lingering salts – or have prized vegetation, homes, priceless heirlooms and artworks, and everything else incinerated by raging infernos. Homeowners never got to make that choice.

The incineration of these forests and communities released far more greenhouse gases than all the state’s now-shuttered coal- and gas-fired power plants would have over many decades. Further complicating matters, the fires sent ash and pollutants into skies and left toxic chemicals behind – from plastics, paints, batteries, solvents and other materials in homes, buildings and vehicles. They’ve contaminated waters and soils, which could result in long cleanup and rebuilding delays.

Governor Newsom says he wants to expedite rebuilding. But LA health officials say debris removal and reconstruction are prohibited until licensed officials have carefully examined sites for toxics – dangerous or barely detectable levels? New building codes for fire resistance? Or homeowner demands for them? Citizens need to discuss all this at town hall meetings, before the next conflagration strikes – inevitably, if proper forest and water management and personnel hiring are not implemented immediately.

Put simply, the woke idiots responsible for this rampant destruction and loss of life must be replaced with people who understand their Number One Job is protecting citizens from crime, fires and other natural disasters. Mr. Newsom also wants an investigation into the loss of fire hydrant water pressure.

Californians have good reason to suspect he’s merely trying to find excuses and scapegoats, so that he and his favorite legislators can save their political hides. Golden Staters need to revamp their political, bureaucratic, policy and woke systems. They need to rely less on government – and more on themselves, the way the Getty Villa and several neighbors did in Malibu, thereby saving homes, treasures and lives. Otherwise, these needless tragedies will be repeated.

I will have more on this as the information coming forward about the incompetence, corruption, and failure we're seeing here being exposed is unbelievable. I've published three pieces on this, Hello Hollywood, Welcome to Reality, Part I, Part II, and Part III.  All hard hitting to the point you'd think it couldn't get any worse.  Well, that turned out to be wrong, as it appears there's no bottom to this story.  Also, if anyone has any doubts Governor Gavin Newsom is anything but an idiot, take a look at my

The Never-To-Be Forgotten 'Newsom Fires'

January 15, 2025 By Robin M. Itzler @ American Thinker

Have you heard of the “Lindsay Snowstorm?” It will soon have a companion story called the “Newsom Fires.”

Republican John Lindsay was New York City’s mayor from 1966 to 1974. Lindsay, like Gavin Newsom, was tall, handsome and had great hair. Like Newsom, Lindsay often relied on his looks to compensate for what was lacking between his ears. And, like Newsom, Lindsay thought he would make a great president.

Until a blizzard hit the Big Apple.

On Sunday, February 9, 1969, New York City was expecting rain but was suddenly overwhelmed with a blizzard that brought 15 inches of snow. (Personal note: my childhood recollection was being thrilled schools would be closed for several days.) New Yorkers weren’t blaming Lindsay for the snowstorm, but they did blame him for what they saw as a lack of leadership in the aftermath of the storm.

The city that never sleeps was sleeping because there were few to no snowplows clearing the streets, highways, or bridges, as 15 inches of snow created snowbanks and icy roads. For three days and, in some instances, up to one week, the city was immobilized. People were stuck in airports. The New York Stock Exchange was closed. Grocery store shelves were empty as trucks couldn’t make deliveries, leaving people without food. Depending on the location, schools were closed from one to several days. The subways that went above ground weren’t moving, leaving some riders stuck underground. And the buses? Fuhgeddaboudit!

Without snowplows to clear the roads, highways, and bridges, no one could get around the city. That included ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks. With a slow mobilization, there were 42 deaths and 288 injuries.

As the city painfully dug its way out from under the huge snowbanks, Mayor Lindsay drove to Queens to meet with residents. His limousine had trouble driving on the streets that were still not adequately cleared or salted. Optics of people booing and screaming at Lindsay were on a par with Los Angelenos verbally assaulting Newsom.

Lindsay was criticized for the city’s lack of preparation. Blizzards are part of New York City’s winter weather, just as Santa Ana winds are part of southern California’s weather. Hizzoner’s lack of leadership in handling the situation eventually became known as the “Lindsay Snowstorm.” It created a political crisis for the tall, handsome guy with great hair who wanted to be president.

When re-election time came, he did not win the Republican primary, so he ran as a third-party candidate. The anti-Lindsay vote was split between the Democrat and Republican candidates. Lindsay won re-election and another four mediocre years in Gracie Mansion. However, the snowstorm and his perceived failures in handling the aftermath resulted in his Oval Office dream being snowplowed into oblivion.

John Lindsay and Gavin Newsom (public domain images).

In California …

The multiple 2025 wildfires that are still burning will probably be known as the “Newsom Fires.” While Newsom is not responsible for 100 mph Santa Ana winds whipping through canyons and hillsides, he is responsible for a state that did not allocate sufficient money and resources to police and fire departments and preventive fire measures.

Newsom is also responsible for always having money for illegal aliens, DEI programs, homeless populations, $150+ billion for “high-speed” trains, and kowtowing to environmental extremists but lacking money for basic government services, including building reservoirs. Just one of many examples from the June 26, 2024, Los Angeles Times:

The 2024-25 budget plan salvages two programs that had been targeted for cuts. It maintains full funding for a project that provides free legal representation and other assistance to immigrant students, staff, faculty and their families at all 23 Cal State campuses. The plan also sustains in-home support for elderly, blind and disabled undocumented immigrants who qualify for Medi-Cal.

Even as fires were destroying neighborhoods, the woke Democrat super-majority legislature was meeting in Sacramento on ways to “Trump Proof” California!

The insane list of ridiculously wrong progressive expenditures goes on and on and on...

Newsom and his pro-Fidel Castro friend, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, had no problems promoting woke DEI programs while cutting police and fire department budgets, ignoring necessary forest maintenance, allowing rainwater to flow back into the Pacific Ocean, not building new reservoirs or desalination plants, and/or not maintaining firefighting equipment and infrastructure.

Newsom must think Delta smelt fish can vote!

Newsom failed to listen to Donald Trump’s repeated warnings about the importance of forest maintenance. In 2019, Trump posted on X (then Twitter):

The Governor of California, @GavinNewsom, has done a terrible job of forest management. I told him from the first day we met that he must ‘clean’ his forest floors regardless of what his bosses, the environmentalists, DEMAND of him. Must also do burns and cut fire stoppers.

Personally, I don’t care about someone’s sexual preferences if they can do the damn job! But the lesbian women running the Los Angeles Fire Department appeared more concerned with promoting the DEI agenda than making sure there’s water in fire hydrants and reservoirs.

James Woods, who came close to losing his Pacific Palisades home, said of Fire Chief Kristin Crowley:

Our new fire chief... she took over and she put on her bio that her priority, ‘my highest priority,’ is inclusion, diversity and equity... and somebody forgot to fill all the reservoirs, I guess, with water.

In another X post, Woods responded to the bogus claim that the fires were due to “climate change:”

This fire is not from ‘climate change,’ you ignorant asshole. It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. One doesn’t understand the first thing about fire management and the other can’t fill the water reservoirs.

In a video, the overweight Deputy Fire Chief Kristine Larson says the department’s priority is that residents in crisis are rescued by first responders who “look like” them. She also has no cares about whether, as a firefighter, she can carry a man out from a burning building. In the video, Larson says, “Am I able to carry your husband out of a fire? He got himself in the wrong place.”

Over at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, CEO and Chief Engineer Janisse QuiƱones saw her role “through the lens of equity...and social justice.” How does that maintain water and power?

Many people assume that all Californians are ridiculously insane liberals. Not true! The state moved to the right in the November election and has a large percentage of America First Patriots. There just aren’t enough of us, especially as many Republicans abandon California for red states.

Will the “Newsom Fires” open liberal eyes? Some think yes, as they learn more about state and local leadership failures that resulted in (so far) 25 deaths and 10,000+ structures burned to the ground with $150+ BILLION in damages. If that doesn’t convert some liberals, maybe the bureaucratic maze they suffer through trying to rebuild their homes will do it.

If you have four minutes, you can listen to the outstanding Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills explain Democrat insanity in this state and why it should be stopped.

In John Lindsay’s case, a few weeks after the blizzard, everything in New York City was back to normal, but the people remained angry. With Newsom, his horrendous incompetence will be on front pages for years to come. “Lindsay’s Storm” kept John Lindsay out of the White House, and “Newsom’s Fires” should do the same for Gavin Newsom.

Hello Hollywood, Welcome to Reality, Part III

 By Rich Kozlovich

Yesterday I posted Part II, and I did what I'm doing a lot more now, and that's linking followup articles as updates at the end of my commentaries in order to make sure the whole story gets told.  But the number of commentaries about this became so large I decided to eliminate those links and use them, and a lot more besides, to create a second piece, a third piece, and at the rate this is going, there will most likely be a fourth piece.

Last Saturday in, P&D and the Week That Was,  I stated:

As for the L.A. fire disaster, which my first article covers, as this unravels it's really gonna get ugly as these misfits finger point and blame each other, and even some will condemn the Democrat party.  Many I'm sure will try to project their blame on Trump, Republicans, conservatives, etc.

Well, that's what's happening and it didn't really take much insight to conclude that what was going to happen.   One Democrat Senator claims this is just a preview of what's to come under Trump blaming big oil, global warming.

Okay, supposing that has any resemblance to reality, then one has to ask, why is it happening now? Biden has been President for four years, and the entire administration has breathed the fumes of the fever swamps of global warming activists and have acted accordingly.  If that's so, and it is, then can he explain why this isn't the fault of California Democrats, and the Democrat party and Biden?

If they really believed climate change is responsible for all of this, and given California's wildfire and wind history they should have known this was a major possibility, so why weren't they prepared?  Where were the firebreaks?  Why wasn't brush cleared out?  Why were the reservoirs empty in spite of record rain fall? Where was the maintenance on the fire hydrants?  Even if they didn't believe in global warming given California's history that should have automatically been standard operating procedure.

Mad Maxine knows who really is responsible. It's the rich.  The usual leftist meme:  Blame someone else for their failures. Gavin Newsome blames local leaders, and as it turns out....according to Newsome, he's blameless and demands answers, and besides it's really all Donald Trump's fault.  Yet it wasn't the local authorities or Trump who cut $100 Million from California's fire prevention budget in 2024, it wasn't local officials who fought the Trump administration that tried to stop the misdirection of water to alleged save any number of fish species.  It wasn't local officials or Trump who removed four hydroelectric dams that by their very nature were water reservoirs.  It was Newsome.

Here's the one I really like.  FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell blames global warming....well... they all know the planet isn't warming so they've changed it to climate change.  The department that played politics ( Here and Here), with a history of throwing Americans under the bus, you would think their concerns would be fixing what they're doing that has been so disastrously wrong!  But it isn't, in spite of all that, it's real challenge and concern is disinformation.  (More Here)

They failed miserably to care for hurricane victims in North Carolina, claiming they didn't have sufficient funds to help them, and as it turns out FEMA's resources were going to illegal aliens. (More Here and Here)

(End of the American Dream)—What we are witnessing in the mountains of North Carolina says a lot about where we are as a nation.  The federal response to Hurricane Helene has been absolutely abysmal, and hardly anyone is really surprised by this because the federal government can’t seem to do anything right these days.

And it gets worse as this piece shows how politics was paramount with the Biden administration, not duty.

A clip from a FEMA disaster preparedness meeting has sparked fresh outrage, shedding light on the Biden-Harris administration’s politically motivated handling of disaster response efforts. The footage, recorded in March 2023, shows FEMA Emergency Management Specialist Tyler Atkins prioritizing the needs of LGBTQIA+ communities over broader disaster relief efforts.

So, why am I bringing in all this FEMA stuff?  For the best reason in the world.  It demonstrates a pattern of activity.  A pattern of corruption and stupidity.   FEMA just kicked out 2000 hurricane survivors out of temporary housing into snowstorm and freezing temperatures.  What FEMA was and is doing,  is what what California has been doing.

The reasons for California's failure to control this fire is nothing more than a demonstration of what the left are doing all over the nation.  Corruption, incompetence, stupidity, politics over duty and responsibility.   The Democrats have handed conservatives a major gift, and this may become a major turning point in American politics.

The Fire Chief says her diversity push had nothing to do with this disaster.  Okay, I'm willing to accept that if she's willing to accept her incompetence and stupidity played a large role in this disaster.  She was part of the program that caused a lack of resources.  She knew fire hydrants would not work, she knew the reservoirs were dry, or not working, and she was responsible for that failure because her focus was on hiring more women and spending what resources she had on DEI training instead of fire prevention and control.

California has rewritten the laws to make penalties for crime as painless as possible as a result looting is rampant, and now people are outraged, imagine that, so now there's a recall movement for Karen Bass.   Make no mistake, as Governor DeSantis notes, if Newsom, or for that matter Bass, were Republicans the media would be tearing their heads off.  But have no doubt the people of California and L.A. will elect someone just as worthless as these nitwits.

The people of California, totally supported by a corrupt media, elected Newsome twice and supported him against a recall.  Whether all that was fraudulent or not, he's their guy, and now they have to pay the price.  Schadenfreude.

Why is California a Disaster by Victor Davis Hanson

Hello Hollywood, Welcome to Reality, Part II

Barr and Newsome:  Are they guilty of negligent homicide, or depraved indifference?

By Rich Kozlovich

This is from the 1964 speech "A Time for Choosing" given by Ronald Reagan who became Governor of California from 1967 to 1975.

"You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream – the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.”

How could California go from Ronald Reagan to Gavin Newsome and sink into such depravity?  On January 11, 2025 Todd Gregory and Erik Gregory posted this article, Newsom, Bass guilty of negligent homicide, outlining in the article the monstrous history of socialist tyrants.  Socialism is the mother philosophy of fascism, and communism, it's children, two sides of the same coin, along with all the other ism manifestations, such as environmentalism.  All of which are misanthropic.

In modern America, the closest thing to Mao’s and Obama’s progressive Utopia is to be found in the sad, violent, debauched state of California.,...How can California’s voters continue to vote for the likes of DEI mayor Karen Bass, a dyed-in-the-wool racist who idolized Fidel Castro and shrugged off warnings of imminent fire danger in Los Angeles in order to go party in West Africa on the taxpayers’ dime? ..........

Newsom’s decidedly unscientific fantasy about apocalyptic anthropogenic global warming..... the smelt fish lives while people die in preventable, government-caused wildfires......because Gavin Newsom keeps flushing trillions of gallons of rainwater out to sea rather than building up and maintaining California’s reservoirs to fight fires

The articles goes on to make what I think is a really cogent observation asking:

What about the idealistic if misguided waitress in South Central LA who donated a hard-earned $50 to the Kamala Harris campaign, only to see Kamala give that money to billionaire Oprah Winfrey or other celebrities from the progressive Überklasse?  Is there some cognitive dissonance for the waitress, or will she mindlessly vote for Karen Bass for mayor again, and Kamala for governor in 2026?

These are radical leftists who are directly responsible for billions of dollars in damage and the death of over a dozen people.  I can only image how horrible those deaths must have been.

Will all this cause Californians change the views and habits? I don't think so, but the rest of the nation is watching, and it seems clear Americas are finding it inconceivable how anyone in a leadership position can be so incompetent, so stupid, so vile, and so self serving as these nitwits in California have been.  This disaster could very well become a major turning point in American politics.  This drives home the reality of what leftism is and has always has been; irrational, misanthropic, and morally defective.

So, are they guilty of negligent homicide or depraved indifference?  They're guilty of something that merits punishment, and which ever carries the most punishment gets my vote.  Gavin Newsom must be held accountable, A mere resignation is not enough.

One more thing.  Has anyone  seen an explanation as to why Mayor Barr was in Africa in the first place, and was she there on the public's dime?

This isn't just California, this is leftism, this is the insanity of the Democrat party in America.

Hello Hollywood, Welcome to Reality, Part I

By Rich Kozlovich

It appears Hollywood has received a "warm" welcome to the world, the world they helped to create, one they lovingly embraced, the secular religious world of leftism.  Everywhere else that embrace represented disaster, and we have over 235 years of history to prove it.  No lights in Cuba, no water in L.A. and after sixty years of communist control of Cuba a third of their houses are in ruins, and they've supported all of this insanity everywhere.   So, yet they're not all warm and happy?

Instead they're outraged, outraged I tell you, ranting and demanding the resignation of these people in charge in California (Here, Here, Here, Here, Here, Here,) And these are the same kind of nitwits Hollywood wants running the nation.  Imagine that!

And just because it's their ox that's being gored, or in this case their houses being destroyed with all the things they treasure, they're outraged.  Remarkable.  Well,  I say.... schadenfreude!  They brought this on themselves, but this will help prevent this from being brought on the nation. I'll tell you what, we'll come back to that.

Will Hollywood, and California abandon their leftist dipsticks, and turn MAGA? Nah, I don't think so because there's always a lunatic like Jim Jarmusch who knows those really responsible are ‘climate deniers’, i.e., conservatives, whites, along with traditional Christians and Jews, and it wouldn't be long before the invertebrates in Hollywood and the rest of the leftist nutrolls would follow suit.   Bernie Sanders, who thought the Soviet Union was paradise, also claims global warming is the cause, but scientists are finally bucking this mass scientific hysterical fraud say, climate change isn't the cause.

But, hey, c'mon man, we really know who's at fault.   It's the Jews.  Radical Left-Wing Code Pink Links California Wildfires to Gaza Conflict.  What would these poor insane leftists do if there were no Jews to blame for their failures?

Believe it or not, there is an upside to this, and perhaps we should all stop picking on these politicians and officials in California.  They’ve provided an incredibly important service to the nation, and the world. So, let me explain.

Let's take a look at the official incompetence of the unelected leadership.

  2. Firetrucks Use Garden Hoses From Residential Homes to Fill Up Water Tanks as Hydrants Run Dry (VIDEO)
  3. Environmentalism-Obsessed LA Doesn't Have Enough Water to Fight Fire Effectively

  8. Marlow: LAFD Prioritizes Diversity over Preparedness…

Official incompetence and stupidity was universal, and on going, and in spite of all the history and warnings about California's fires and "devil wind storms", stupidity was embraced as wisdom.... an all too common thread for leftists.

For years there’s been a lot of rhetoric back and forth between conservatives and leftists, but conservatives no longer need to argue.  California has in so many ways provided proof leftism, represented by Democrats and RINO’s in America, is a failed secular religion ruled by historically ignorant, emotion mongering brainless nitwits, incompetent fools, and corrupt misfits.  See, definition does lead to clarity!

Now a look at the incompetence level by the elected officials.

  8.  No Water, No Mayor, But Plenty Of Diversity
  9.  MADDENING: Watch Adam Carolla Explain How He Applied to be a Los Angeles Firefighter But Was Turned Away for Being a White Male (VIDEO)

Amerian Thinker puts out a Weekly Digest, and Andrea Widburg made some extermely cogent observations:

The Democrat politicians they trusted to protect them from reality’s consequences failed. Obsessed with social justice, climate change, DEI, CRT, LGBTQ+, ..... Gavin Newsom cut the fire remediation budget, although he did make free medical care available for illegal aliens.........

Mayor Karen Bass (a Maoist who once believed in violently overthrowing the American government) found money for a trip to Ghana after cutting the fire department budget.  As for the fire department itself........ The fire chief, Kristina Crowley, believed that her priority as chief wasn’t dealing with fires; it was getting more women on the force......Kristine Larson, the “Equity Bureau” chief, had tough words for men foolish enough to find themselves physically incapacitated during a fire with only women firefighters available to help out:

“He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”

What about the California Republicans?  From what my conservative friends from California involved in CAGOP say (who are not on the leadership's happy list) the party leadership is filled with RINO's and act just as corruptly as Democrats to hold on to power. They share in this fiasco just as sure night follows day. If what the author is asking for is going to happen, there would have to be a massive revolt in the CAGOP. We'll see, but given what they've tolerated, their anti-conservative biases, along with their TDS issues, I'm inclined to think holding your breath until that happens really isn't a very good idea.

So, back to my point about thanking California, and the reason why we need to thank Californians, even the dead ones, for continuing to vote  for these misfits.  We can now assuredly say if California is doing something they think is really great, we know it's really a bad idea.  So, now anyone choosing to do the opposite to what they're doing in California can be confident they're making the correct decision.   That's priceless, and it's incontestable history!  So, from now on all conservatives have to say to ranting leftists is, “tell me about the water in L.A".

Thank you California, and keep up the good work!  I thank you, the nation thanks you, and the delta smelt thank you also.

Gavin Newsom: Job Killer

  1. Anti-growth class-warfare tax policy?
  2. A bloated and inefficient public sector?
  3. Excessive red tape and regulation?
  4. Boondoggles like the “Train to Nowhere“?
  5. An anti-business economic climate?
  6. Bad policies causing a high cost of living?
  7. Diminished quality of life?
  8. Crummy government schools?
  9. An endless appetite for entitlements?

If this was a quiz, I’d include an “all of the above” option. That would be the most accurate answer because the mess in California is due to all of the items listed. And more.

Sadly, even though businesses and households are fleeing the state, politicians such as Gavin Newsom can’t resist adding more and more straws to the camel’s back.

The latest example of terrible public policy is the $20-per-hour minimum wage. The Wall Street Journal has a new editorial about this job-killing initiative. Here are some excerpts.

California’s $20 an hour fast-food minimum wage took effect two months ago, and the casualties are mounting. Rubio’s Coastal Grill, famous for its fish tacos, closed 48 restaurants in the state on Friday. …Gov. Gavin Newsom responded by blaming Rubio’s. …Rubio’s didn’t specifically mention California’s new $20 minimum wage, which is a 25% increase over its already burdensome $16 an hour minimum. California’s soaring energy and insurance costs also contribute to the hostile business climate. …Workers will be the victims. Restaurants are cutting hours and automating tasks where possible to reduce labor costs. …The average weekly earnings for California leisure and hospitality workers has declined by 2.6% owing to a large drop in hours worked. Politicians think they can dictate wages and impose regulations without consequence. California is proving they can’t.

Keep in mind that local governments in California often impose additional wage mandates that cause additional job losses.

P.S. The failure of California governance is captured by the fact that politicians are choking the state’s marijuana sector with high taxes, but rather than lower taxes they are giving out subsidies.

P.P.S. This video is a succinct explanation of why minimum-wage mandates are a bad idea.
