The contrasting reactions of conservatives and liberals to the news that libertarian philanthropist David Koch died and that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is suffering from a serious health problem highlight a fundamental difference between them.
Liberal Reaction to Death of Koch
Prominent liberals exploded in vicious joy at the news that Koch had died. Perhaps the worst reaction was Bill Maher, who said, "F‑‑‑ him...I'm glad he's dead, and I hope the end was painful."An outlier? Hardly. His audience roared its approval.
Bette Midler got in on the act, wishing his brother were also dead. She echoed Maher's profanity-bomb language and directed it at Kay Cole James, the black American leader of the Heritage Foundation, showing once again that no insult directed toward a minority is too vile when it comes from a liberal.
Social media are on fire with these types of screeds from these tolerant Americans who regularly lecture and project at Republican lack of civility........To Read More......
My Take - I just read where Cindy McCain, Senator John McCain's widow, is taking on a "Grand Crusade", calling "for a return to civility", saying: "It has to start with us." Apparently this "us" she's talking about didn't include her husband. John McCain was a spiteful, vicious, vindictive backstabber right up until his death.
On March 23, 2019 I posted a link to this article, and I added "My Take" to it saying:
This week I read an article by former Senator Lieberman who defended McCain against Trump's recent attacks on McCain. His defence? He was a war hero who suffered terribly at the hands of his captors That's not an excuse for his actions afterward, and the virulent, vindictive, and even corrupt actions of McCain all during his Senate career. I've not attacked him on his record as a POW for three reasons:
- I wasn't there.
- He's managed to get his records sealed so no one really knows what happened, making any claims speculation.
- I don't like it when people who never suffered at the hands of guards in a POW camp go shooting off their mouths. We have no idea what these men went through, and unless there's actual evidence of serious misbehavior, we need to keep quiet.
For the rest of his life I've found him to be largely despicable. He's been a vicious, vindictive backstabber right up until his death. And yet the media and the left attack Trump for defending himself against his death bed nastiness by pointing out what a despicable person he was. And he's right to keep pointing out the facts about McCain and his involvement regarding the Steele Dossier. The fact he's dead doesn't change what he did, or the consequences of those actions.
Just like Teddy Kennedy, history will not be kind to John McCain. A seriously flawed one time hero!
Here was my Monday, September 3, 2018 article, The Circus Has Left Town, But the Stink Remains.
If any have doubts of what I've said, please review my John McCain file.
