The Statement of Chemistry on the Origin of Life

By James Clinton November 26, 2017 @ American Thinker

In his August 1954, Scientific American article, "The Origin of Life," Nobel Prize winning Harvard Biologist George Wald stated,
"One only has to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. Yet here we are as a result, I believe, of spontaneous generation."
What is "the magnitude of this task" that reasonably renders a natural origin of life "impossible?" Dr. Wald states,
"In the vast majority of processes in which we are interested the point of equilibrium lies far over toward the side of dissolution. That is to say, spontaneous dissolution is much more probable, and hence proceeds much more rapidly, than spontaneous synthesis."
The processes of interest include building proteins, DNA, RNA, and lipids. Nature does not engage in the "processes" of building these life-essential molecules (synthesis); Nature, rather, dismantles them (dissolution), if they exist at all.

Why? Nature inexorably proceeds towards "equilibrium" (Chemical Equilibrium), the most stable state. For example, the most stable state for amino acids in Nature is individual amino acids, not proteins..............To Read More.....

  1. Thank you for reposting the "The Statement..." article, which exposes numerous flaws of philosophical naturalism and evolution. the Nobel Prize winner statement is testament to the incoherence that much of science maintains in conformance to the Richard Lewontin Mandate to "prevent a Divine foot in the door."
There are many more "processes of interest" than those listed which are critical to the origin of life.

The references to endothermic reactions are ignored by evolutionists, biologists and physicists because they are foundational laws of physics that absolutely refute abiogenesis, methodological naturalism, and all naturalistic hypotheses of the origin of life. This gets to what I found is the fundamental distortion or misunderstanding of evolutionary biologist who rabidly embrace biological function that only exists within the cell and immodestly claim them to be relevant prior to the existence of life. This ignorance is alarming and arguably duplicity to perpetuate the ideology of scientism, philosophical naturalism and evolutionism.

This is a disgraceful time we live in because of the deception and duplicity.

  2. Thank you for you interest and comments. I apologize for taking so long to post this but I didn't get the notice in my e-mail as I usually do and just discovered your comment now.

    Thanks again and best wishes,
