Oppositional Denial and Alarm

They didn’t expect Trump to win and it’s been downhill ever since.

R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

Last week President Donald Trump’s recently appointed chief White House strategist caused a stir among the press corps. He telephoned the New York Times, and in what the Times reported as “blunt but calm tones” proclaimed, “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while….” Yes, he said the media should be “embarrassed and humiliated.” The journalists’ reacted with what the Times called “alarm and defiance.”

Christiane Amanpour, the pulchritudinous CNN correspondent, captured the alarm of many journalists, when she responded on Twitter, “What country are we living in?” Well, perhaps I can be of help here. Ms. Amanpour, you are a citizen of the United Kingdom, being of British-Iranian heritage. Moreover, I have it on very good authority that you are living in London. So long as you obey the laws of the United Kingdom ,you should continue to thrive, and so long as your documents are in order, you can travel to our shores anytime. But I advise you to avoid maudlin outbursts, especially in the presence of President Trump and Mr. Bannon.......To Read More....

My Take - Personally I don't find Amanpour to the all that pulchritudinous.  I find her unpleasant to look at because I find her to be stunningly unpleasant to listen to.  As for  George Will and the rest - they need to get out into the real world - Washington and New York City are not the real world - and if they had they would have seen just how much the nation hated Hillary Clinton.  I knew how people felt around here, but even I was surprised - pleasantly - how much the rest of the nation dispised her, and the media knew it and deliberately did everything in their power to prevent that from becoming known.

During the primaries I agreed - Trump was toast - but once he was nominated the parameters all changed....there were only two choices now.  In October I was asked who was going to win the election.  I said if it was a straight up election it would be Trump, but I felt voter fraud was going to be so spectacular it would be Hillary unless there was a massive effort on the part of legitimate voters.  Well, voter fraud was spectacular, but I think with all the attention it was given that was twarted in many states, and I think there was a massive turnout of legitimate voters.

George Will and his herd of elitists were left in the dark, because they reside in the dark towers of elitism, and like dark wizards they conjur up spells to thwart the efforts and views of the ignorant, unwashed, uneducated and uninsightful uninitiated.

Here's another major issue that wasn't really addressed.  Who was going to take Scalia's seat on the Supreme Court.  A life long friend, who is so much of a Democrat she voted for Dennis Kucinich as her Congressman, said she didn't know what to do because she didn't want another left wing nut case on the court.  That was one of the fundamental things that are so fundamental they seem to disappear in the high weeds - but they're there - and they make a big difference.

As for George, Christiane, and the rest - Say Goodnight!
