Let the Liberals Leave!

By Dave Jolly February 4, 2017

All through history, whenever someone tries to bring an organization or nation back from liberalism, they face tons of opposition and protests.  Years ago, the church I was attending had filled the pulpit with a new pastor after the senior pastor suddenly died. The church was initially founded on very conservative and Calvinistic foundations. The new pastor wasn’t as strong in these areas and over the course of about 5 years, he slowly led the church away from its foundational beliefs. In the process of allowing more liberal ideologies into the church, membership more than doubled.

However, it became apparent to those who were part of the original church formation that the church was straying away. With the writing on the wall, the new pastor resigned. It took the church leaders a year to search, interview and hire the right pastor who held to the church’s original foundation and mission.........Change from liberal to conservative is always harder and takes a heavier toll than changing from conservative to liberal, and this is what is facing President Donald Trump as he strives to change America from the liberal ways of Obama, Clinton and others to more of the conservative America that many of us knew years ago.........To Read More....

My Take - When did it occur the church was supposed to be "popular", which seems to be the new moral touchstone for modernists.   Being popular isn't the same as being right, and I thought that was the thrust of Christian/Judaic values.  Being right, believing in what's right,  teaching what's right and living what's right.  All of which many may find difficult - after all, if sin wasn't fun no one would be sinning - but Christian dogma was never about "fun or easy"!

As for those who joined and then left - does anyone really believe there was harmony within that chruch?  As time would have gone by and the older original members who believed the church should stand for it's founding principles aged and passed away what would have happened when the new pastor left and was replaced by someone less popular?  What if a new pastor came in a was more popular but even more liberal?

Where does it end when the church is nothing more than a social club that's all enclusive, with no rules, no restrictions and no moral message?  It ceases to matter! There's a reason why mainline Christian churches are closing all over the nation.  They replaced morality with popularity as they "gathered teachers to tickle their ears".
