Kaine is a faithful Catholic, but opposes some church edicts

Alex Daugherty

Tim Kaine personally opposes the death penalty, the moral stand of a staunch Roman Catholic who regularly attends Mass and whose church believes executions to be wrong.  Yet as governor of Virginia, the Democratic vice presidential nominee allowed the execution of 11 men.

The death penalty is part of a political tightrope Kaine has walked for almost two decades, trying to balance his Catholic faith with policy positions that are at odds with the church's teachings. He also personally opposes abortion, for example, but supports the right of women to choose to have one......."The example of the way he (Kaine) behaved as governor and the way he supports abortion are examples of political cowardice," Burch said, adding that Catholic politicians need to show "respect for all persons regardless of stage of development or age.".....To Read More....

My Take - A devout Catholic?  Really?  If a Catholic supports abortion in any way - they're not only not devout Catholics - they're heretics.  Why is that so hard to understand?  What's hard for me to understand is why this man hasn't been openly condemned as such by the church leadership, along with Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy when he was alive.  And with his absolute support of abortion why and how did he manage to be buried in the Church.   In point of fact, if professed Christains of any denomination is a Democrat they're heretics.  Why is that so hard to understand?

As for this blather about defining abortion as a "women's right to choose", that's merely an attempt to confuse people's thinking cover the fact they're supporting infanticide.  The media, the activists, the clever politicians may have fooled the public, but it seems unlikely to me God has been.
