The Gospel According to St. Bill O’Reilly

For many years now, I have been a devoted watcher of the O’Reilly Factor on Fox News.
Increasingly, however, I have grown infuriated with O’Reilly’s incessant need to prove he isn’t too conservative, constantly trying to distance himself from those figures he so obviously disdains on the Right.
For a man with such a remarkable intellect, his ignorance regarding the issue of gun rights and individual liberty are absolutely staggering. Even worse is the fact that O’Reilly appears to show no interest whatsoever of adequately informing himself on the subject.
O’Reilly’s “Weekdays with Bernie” segments have increasingly plunged into a weekly case of male-bonding with O’Reilly and Bernard Goldberg, each sharing their contempt for genuine conservatism.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Bill O’Reilly recently made this statement to Megyn Kelly on the Factor:
The compelling argument is on the side of homosexuals. That’s where the compelling argument is. “We’re Americans. We just want to be treated like everybody else.” That’s a compelling argument, and to deny that, you gotta have a very strong argument on the other side, and the other side hasn’t been able to do anything but thump the Bible.
