“Today’s debate about global warming is essentially a debate about freedom. The environmentalists would like to mastermind each and every possible (and impossible) aspect of our lives.” - Vaclav Klaus, Blue Planet in Green Shackles
Greenland's varied past Core-drillers have found evidence that Greenland has on a couple of occasions been much hotter in the geologically recent past, despite the absence of coal burning power stations and SUVs back then. More interesting, however is that it took a 10 degree warming to melt only part of the Greenland icecap and that a 5 degree warming did not melt it at all. Warmist theories that we are already near a tipping point and runaway warming are therefore falsified by actual evidence -- given that the warming for the entire 20th century was less than one degree
Armies of insects once crawled through lush forests in a region of Greenland now covered by more than 2,000m of ice……The ice cores also suggest that the ice sheet is more resistant to warming than previously thought, the scientists say……"What we've learned is that this part of the world was significantly warmer than most people thought….The ancient boreal forests were thought to cover southern Greenland during a period of increased global temperatures, known as an interglacial. Temperatures at the time were probably between 10C in summer and -17C in winter….. Comparisons with modern species show that the area was populated by diverse forests made up of alders, spruce, pine and members of the yew family……Living in the trees and on the forest floor was a wide variety of life including beetles, flies, spiders, butterflies and moths.
My Take: Once again we KNOW that it was substantially warmer a thousand years ago than it is today. We know the Norse lived there for hundreds of years until it turned too cold to maintain their Nordic lifestyle. We know this from the historical records that recorded their agricultural practices. We know that warming and cooling trends occurred all throughout the Earth’s history and is a natural reoccurring cycle. We know CO2 is a poor retainer of heat. We know that the sun’s cycles has a very real influence on these cycles. We know that CO2 is a naturally occurring gas that is vital to life and the amount of CO2 mankind is putting into the atmosphere is so small it is meaningless. We know that the “Warmists” have lied consistently and produced junk science that has been exposed as such for a long time. So once again…..did any of the terrible things they are predicting for today occur then…..We know of NO such occurrences! If that is the case, why should we believe it will occur today? We shouldn’t!
To Serve Mann
Sources confirm that a federal inspector has questioned Eugene Wahl and Wahl has confirmed that Mann asked him to delete emails. Wahl has also informed the inspector that he did delete emails as the result of this request. There are times during the course of Climategate when you feel like you are in a twilight zone episode, especially the kind where the ambiguous meaning of terms plays a critical role……
My Take: The fact of the matter is that this issue is not one of “scientific independence”, it is about “scientific fraud”, and the sooner Mann and all those who supported his work, all those who have attempted to cover up his corruption, and all those who have whitewashed the investigations on he and the rest are called up to testify under oath the sooner we will see that “scientific integrity” is an oxymoron when it comes to climate change. I hope this will encourage investigations into a lot more investigations into “science” that has been funded by green activists and the EPA.
Maine’s green future debated Governor wants rules streamlined; foes see assault on environment
The new [Maine] governor has offered up a more substantive cause for controversy: a plan to streamline state environmental protections, eliminating or reducing more than 60 regulations on pollution and development….In private, even some Tea Party members admit they have tired of LePage’s headline-grabbing public statements, said Andrew Ian Dodge, the Tea Party’s former Maine coordinator, who recently announced his plan to run against US Senator Olympia Snowe in 2012……. “The reason the environment is at the core of the Maine economy is because other industry has been driven out by taxation and regulation. . . . Something radical has to be tried.’’
Brown's green jobs to deindustrialise Australia Politicians love ‘creating’ jobs, especially when these jobs serve a ‘greater good,’ such as fighting climate change. Greens leader Bob Brown recently praised Germany’s renewable energy policy. Brown believes that investment in green technologies saved Germany’s economy from the global financial crisis. This in itself is a questionable assertion: the German GDP fell by 4.7% in 2009, and despite a 3.6% growth in 2010, output has not returned to pre-crisis levels. Senator Brown also claims that ‘330,000 extra jobs have been created in Germany because of legislation moving to a clean, green energy future.’ If only!……And at what cost?
Former German Chancellor demands IPCC inquiry Helmut Schmidt, the respected former Chancellor of Germany, has told an audience at the Max-Plank-Gesellschaft that a full inquiry needs to be held into the credibility of advice on global warming that stems from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Set up in 1988 in order to deliver policy advice to governments regarding global warming, ever since 2005 the IPCC has been become mired in controversy over the integrity and accuracy of its procedures. Most recently, in early 2010, a number of scandals erupted over the selective use of published literature by the IPCC, and also its practice of relying upon documents from environmental lobby groups rather than refereed scientific papers.
My Final Thought: It will be interesting to see a number of things in the next couple of years. The justification for "going green" in almost every aspect of life has been promulgated on the need to change the way we do "EVERYTHING" in the name of global warming because we "are at the tipping point". As of course Prince Charles absolutely confirmed this by asking his plants. Some may think this is a bit kooky, but my primary concern was whether they answered him or not. I doubt that it is an insanity issue just because his father wants to be reincarnated as a virus that will wipe out huge portions of humanity. Liz sure did land a prize there.
Does scientific corruption and environmental insanity automatically go together or is it that they merely work well together? As the layer of lies is peeled away and these people are exposed for their corruption, their sanity must also be called into question. Their careers are forever tarnished, and I hope forever destroyed. Real science has no more use for corruption from scientists than a bank does from a teller. The big difference is that a teller could only cause a limited amount of economic pain.
From their own communications one can only conclude that they knew what they were doing, and they certainly had to know what the impact this would have on the world’s economies, and the downward spiraling level of lifestyle this would create. Yet they continued in this downward spiraling path of deceit. Can anything else be concluded from their own communications. These people would have destroyed civilization, so I have to ask; don’t they have children and possible grandchildren? If so; do they believe they wouldn’t be effected by this green disaster? Can they possibly be sane?
The other thing I will be really interested in seeing are those bloggers who have attacked and denigrated the so-called deniers. When the final verdict comes out against the scare mongering warmists will they stand up and condemn them? If they don't, what then?
