Schedule F – Trump’s Plan A for Emptying the Swamp

It is arguably the most audacious of the president-elect’s bold promises.

by , Nov 29, 2024 @ Liberty Nation News, Tags: Articles, Opinion, Politics

Ever since Election Day, much talk has focused on President-elect Donald Trump’s appointments – in record time – of his Cabinet, advisors, and agency directors. This new administration is a diverse mix, but they all have one thing in common: The returning president sees them as loyal to him and his outsized agenda. But what about all the other, more entrenched denizens of DC? Enter Schedule F – Trump’s bold plan to “drain the Swamp.”

Washington is abuzz with the extraordinary diversity of beliefs among the new designees. This is far from typical for incoming presidents, who ordinarily populate their administrations with political veterans in lockstep with their ideology. But after assembling a largely forgettable team upon his arrival in DC as a novice in 2017, the road-tested 47th president has broken the mold, as is his wont, by selecting Republicans and Democrats, hawks and doves, neoconservatives and populists, corporatists and unionists, insiders and outsiders.

Trump’s most famously ambitious objective, however, is to drain and ultimately empty the DC swamp of its unelected, unaccountable, and obstructionist bureaucrats who can thwart the will of the president, as they did so often during his first administration. The arrogance of these supercilious apparatchiks is due to the iron-clad protections they enjoy as civil servants. They cannot be fired no matter their behavior, except in the rarest of circumstances. Presidents come and go, they tell themselves, but we will outlast them all and can act accordingly.

Trump and the “All of Government” Edict

You may recall the so-called “all-of-government” approach to the DEI agenda during the current administration, where the goal of equity must be embraced and adopted not only in social planning and policies but across all agencies and cabinet departments. Well, the incoming president will employ that same broad, sweeping approach to weeding out the most unproductive and recalcitrant employees among the federal government’s 2.2 million-strong civilian workforce. And while DOGE – the newly formed non-governmental Department of Government Efficiency to be headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy – has been the talk of Washington, it faces severe limits in its attempts to affect systemic reform. No less than 60% of the government’s $6.8 trillion budget is “non-discretionary” and largely untouchable because it is devoted to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and interest on the exploding national debt, now more than $36 trillion. Another 13% is devoted to defense, which Trump has pledged to increase. Thus, Musk’s stated goal of cutting $2 trillion in unnecessary federal spending will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to achieve.

However, taking an axe to the bloated budget ultimately figures to have less permanent impact than Trump’s audacious plans to alter the federal government’s modus operandi and its entrenched culture. The linchpin for his game-changing reforms is reinstating the innocuous-sounding Schedule F, instituted by Trump in the waning days of his first term but immediately reversed by Joe Biden upon taking office. It will empower massive changes in the bureaucracy, re-classifying thousands of careerists as political appointees. It refers to a section of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978, exempting some federal employees from civil service protections, specifically those “whose position has been determined to be of a confidential, policy-determining, policy-making or policy-advocating character.” Under Trump’s plan, the number of such employees would jump from roughly 4,000 to about 50,000, signaling a sea change in the way Washington does business.

The outgoing Biden administration, deeply fearful of Trump’s bold plans to upend the DC establishment, is working overtime to “Trump-proof” (as much as possible) the federal government, hoping to minimize the damage to its familiar and comfortable way of life.

The Downside of Schedule F

The danger inherent in Schedule F is the likelihood that the next Democratic president could use the same expanded executive control over the bureaucracy to reverse course from Trump and bring in committed progressives who could do even more damage than the present embedded bureaucrats. So, to make these plans stick beyond Trump’s next term, his administration might attempt to move one or more executive agencies out of Washington. This would wrench thousands of civil servants out of their comfort zone, likely leading to a significant number of resignations by those accustomed to life inside the DC beltway.

Despite setting a risky precedent that could backfire on Republicans in the years ahead, Trump is focused on the here and now, believing the addition of Schedule F will force permanent structural change on what has effectively become a fourth branch of government, namely, the administrative state. Everyday Americans have complained about federal bureaucratic hegemony for as long as we can remember, but now they will finally have a president in place with specific plans to do something about it.

Events from around the nation:

States were devastated by hurricanes, and Americans who have lost homes and belongings from the recent hurricanes must have been thrilled when on November 17 Secretary of State Antony Blinken posted on X:

“Today we announced that the United States will support the city of Lima (Peru) in building a new passenger train line that will expand access to reliable and affordable transportation for over 200,000 people every single day.”

How insulting! Our own nation needs to be rebuilt, especially areas hit by hurricanes, but we’re giving money to help build Peru!

  • ARIZONA—Voters passed Proposition 313 which removes judicial discretion and requires a mandatory life sentence for anyone convicted of child sex trafficking. Before the law was passed, sentences ranged from seven years to life depending on the case.
  • MICHIGAN—Lisa Domski will be doing a lot of Christmas shopping this year as she won $10 million in punitive damages against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, as well as $1.7 million in lost wages AND $1 million in noneconomic damages. Domski had worked for Blue Cross Blue as an IT specialist for three-plus decades but was fired for refusing to take the jab. She sued the company for religious discrimination against her Catholic faith—and she won!
  • CALIFORNIA—The once golden and now communist-leaning state is still counting ballots in some races! And guess what, in every instance, the Republican candidate that was once leading is now behind. With new CAGOP leadership coming, maybe this backwards state will join the 21st century.
Events from around the globe.

Denmark - In an effort to show that lunatics are not just in America’s Democrat Party, Denmark’s coalition government recently agreed to introduce the world’s first carbon emissions tax on agriculture. That’s a tax on cows and pigs farting.

Guatemala - Congressman Héctor Aldana wore a MAGA hat during a Congressional session. Aldana views Trump’s landslide victory as a positive change for Latin America, thus his hat had the words “Take America Back” along with Donald Trump’s name and the American flag.

Canada - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in a video that Canada will slow the number of permanent and temporary immigrants (aka illegal aliens) entering the country over the next three years. (Duh!) Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said in a podcast interview:

"Now, [Trudeau] is basically denouncing his entire immigration policy and expecting us to believe that he can fix the problems that he caused. The bottom line is we have to fix our immigration, get back to the best system in the world, the one that brought my wife here as a refugee legally and lawfully, the one that brought so many people here to pursue the Canadian promise."

Jaguar Goes Woke

We would have thought that companies realized going woke was not the way to increase sales or customers, but as John Belushi used to shout on Saturday Night Live (when the show was funny), “But Noooooooo!” British Jaguar has made two changes that are sure to alienate many current and potential customers of the luxury automobile.

The growling big cat Jaguar logo that adorned its grilles and bonnets is gone and has been replaced with a round geometric badge that some say looks like the kind of logo you would see on a trendy handbag.

Jaguar’s latest commercial does NOT feature a car. The woke ad has a bunch of “colorful” men and women wearing clothes most of us would never wear—not even into our basement to do the laundry. Throughout the ad, these phrases pop up: 'create exuberant', 'live vivid', 'delete ordinary', 'break molds' and 'copy nothing'.

Assessing the World’s Best Leader, Part IV

November 29, 2024 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

Having made a slight detour for a Thanksgiving-themed column yesterday, let’s now return to our analysis of Argentina’s libertarian President.

  • In Part 1 of this series, I showed how Javier Milei has done a great job shrinking the burden of government spending.
  • In Part II, I investigated how much he might be able to improve Argentina’s ranking in Economic Freedom of the World.
  • In Part III, I shared central government spending data to reveal that Milei has been outstanding rather than merely  impressive.

For today’s column, I’m going to pour a bit of cold water on the enthusiasm by pointing out some major obstacles that still exist.

We’ll start with this chart comparing the number of “makers” and “takers” in Argentina. As you can see, there are 8 million private-sector taxpayers in the country and they are expected to support 20 million people who live off of government.

Milei’s performance has been spectacular so far, but his ability to resuscitate Argentina will be limited if he can’t alter that worrisome ratio of more than 2 people riding in the wagon for every 1 person pulling the wagon (as shown in this set of cartoons).

Now let’s look at a second chart to further understand why he faces an uphill climb. These numbers come from an article by Ivan Cachanosky, an Argentinian economist (he’s also the source for the above chart). It shows how much consumers are being subsidized for their purchases of utilities and public transportation.

The good news is that Milei reduced the subsidies earlier this year (the change between may-24 and sep-24).

The bad news is that taxpayers are still paying more than half the cost of energy and gas and more than two-thirds of the cost of transportation.

I don’t know whether Milei has executive authority to further reduce the subsidies or whether he needs approval from the Peronists who control the legislature.

Regardless, there are two reasons why it would not be easy to take away goodies from people (as explained in the Second Theorem of Government).

  1. Eliminating the subsidies would show up as higher prices, which would weaken the pro-Milei argument that he has conquered inflation.
  2. Getting rid of subsidies also might cause public protests (the movement that resulted in a leftist president in Chile began as protests against a fare hike for public transport).

In other words, even if Milei has executive power, he probably needs to be judicious in how quickly he tells people that  taxpayers no longer will be subsidiizing their purchases of utilities and transportation.

The bottom line is that voters will reward Milei if he produces an economic turnaround. And we know his policies will produce good results. But the open issue is how quickly those positive outcomes materialize. The fate of Argentina hangs in the balance.

Open Borders America: Texas Gets Mounties for Border Control

Illegal immigration efforts tighten around Canada, as well.

Open Borders America: Texas Gets Mounties for Border Control;

Editor’s note: Join Liberty Nation News each week to stay updated on the nationwide ramifications of an open borders America.

Texas Enacting Mounted Officers at the Border

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the launch of its Border Mounted Patrol Unit, the first of its kind. The 3E Mounted Horse Patrol class recently graduated from a six-week training and is made up of Texas Highway Patrol Troopers working with their horses to keep an eye on the border and illegal migrants wishing to cross into the Lone Star State.

“This marks a historic moment for the Texas Department of Public Safety as we continue to innovate and strengthen our efforts to protect the people of Texas,” DPS Director Steven McCraw said on the agency’s website. “The launch of the Border Mounted Patrol Unit and the graduation of its inaugural class represents our unwavering commitment to enhancing border security utilizing unique and adaptive strategies.”

The Texas-Mexico border has some challenging terrain, and this new unit will be better equipped to assist in ground control. After their instruction, the mounted officers completed on-the-job training as well, and during that two-week time, they managed to assist in apprehending 11 migrants trying to cross into the state illegally.

Illegal Immigration Efforts Focusing on Canada

The southern border between the US and Mexico has held the spotlight when it comes to migrants crossing into the country illegally, but President-elect Donald Trump said he will turn some of that focus to our northern territory. Why is Canada such a concern?

More suspected terrorists are encountered at the northern border than the southern. At least 358 suspects on the terrorist watch list were detained at the ports of entry between Canada and the US during the 2024 fiscal year, while there were 155 at the southern border, reported the Independent. Furthermore, the border patrol said they believed some of those encountered at the northern border came from Mexico but flew to Canada where, where they don’t need a visa, before crossing illegally into the US.

New Banner - This Week in Open Borders America

Plus, more people from East Asia and India have been crossing in the north. Michael Barutciski, a professor of international affairs at Toronto’s York University, told WBZ that “Indian nationals do require a visa to enter Canada but there was apparently a decision by the government to not be as strict in processing the visa applications. For example, no longer asking for proof that the visitor will be returning to their country.”

“It’s actually quite striking that Canada’s immigration minister has admitted that the security screening overseas is unreliable,” he added.

The new border czar, Tom Homan, said earlier this month that the northern border was an “extreme national security vulnerability,” and that this crossing “can’t be a gateway to terrorists coming to the United States.”

On Monday, November 25, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders.”

Crime Update

Should illegal immigrants, even if they’ve been in the country for a decade or more, be allowed to own firearms? That is a constitutional right for citizens, and a judge found that the Second Amendment does not apply to migrants in the country illegally, especially when they have more than 100 weapons.

Ditch the Diatribe – Try This!

Carlos Serrano-Restrepo was charged earlier this year for possessing firearms while in the country illegally. He tried to get the gun charge dismissed, saying he has a right since he’s been in the US for more than 15 years. A federal judge denied his request, stating he did not have that right.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives started watching Serrano-Restrepo after he purchased 22 firearms. The illegal immigrant also clamed to be a US citizen on the paperwork. When officials searched his home, they collected around 170 firearms plus “tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition and smoke/marine markers,” Fox News reported, which the man claimed were purchased for self-defense.

Can Argentina Be Rescued, Part III

December 10, 2023 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

My trip to Argentina last year motivated me to write Part I of this series, which focused on whether things might get better in that tragic country for the simple reason that they couldn’t possibly get any worse.

In Part II of this series, I analyzed whether a libertarian candidate’s surprisingly strong performance in Argentina’s presidential primary was a sign that voters realized they had “run out of other people’s money“?

Well, that libertarian candidate, Javier Milei, then shocked the world by winning the presidency last month.

And today is inauguration day in Argentina, so let’s ask the question once again of whether the country can be rescued? Will President Milei make a difference?

Michael Stott of the U.K.-based Financial Times wrote two days ago about this challenge.

He shared this chart, which identifies the country’s biggest problem.

Here are a few excerpts from the report.

Argentina’s new president, the self-styled anarcho-capitalist Javier Milei, takes on one of the world’s toughest economic challenges on Sunday. The country…used to be one of the wealthiest nations in the developing world, but decades of mismanagement have wrecked the economy and created a web of artificial price and exchange rate controls that have produced huge distortions.

A libertarian economist whose beloved pet dogs are named after ideological heroes such as Milton Friedman, Milei campaigned on promises of taking a chainsaw to the state… As Milei’s first day in office approaches, what are the main economic challenges that he will inherit? At the root of Argentina’s problems is the government’s chronic overspending.

The size of the state has almost doubled over the past two decades, with the government expanding the public sector payroll, handing out hefty fuel and electricity subsidies and boosting welfare programmes. Public sector employment rose 34 per cent between 2011 and 2022, while private sector jobs increased only 3 per cent in the same period.

The article also addressed other problems, especially inflation.

But it’s worth noting that inflation is largely a problem because Argentinian governments have a terrible habit of using the proverbial printing press to finance a big chunk of the government’s budget.

So if President Milei can impose some spending discipline, that presumably would remove any pressure on the central bank to engage in reckless money creation.

In other words, there are two big reasons to get control of government spending.

  1. Argentina has a bloated and inefficient public sector, and shrinking the nation’s fiscal burden will enable faster growth by leaving more resources in the productive sector of the economy.
  2. Argentina suffers from chronic inflation because politicians tax as much as they can and borrow as much as they can and then use modern monetary theory to finance even more spending.

Actually, there’s a third reason to restrain the spending burden. As noted in the FT article, Argentina has “tax levels that are well above the Latin American average.”

A responsible spending policy could enable better tax policy. With any luck, Argentina might even lose its status as a “tax hell.”

But any good results will depend on whether President Milei can reduce the burden of government spending. And maybe even address the long-run problem by enacting a spending cap. That’s what will determine whether the country gets rescued.

What About Pete?

By Rich Kozlovich

Pete Hegseth has been nominated as Secretary of Defense by Donald Trump, but that giant of intellectual wherewithal, Whoopie Goldberg, has declared Hegseth "clearly knows nothing about the military", and Whoopie absolutely knows all about the military because she played a bar tender on Star Trek, like OAC was a bar tender after graduating cum laude from Boston University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and economics.  And she could only get a job as a bartender?  Odd, don't you think?

At any rate, while Whoopie wasn't a member of Star Fleet in that show, and of course it really wouldn't have matter anyway because none of that was real, but hey, let's not get picky!  Right?   After all, that's Whoopie's job to be picky, so, let's take a look and see if Whoopie knows what she's talking about.

Hegseth is 44, a combat veteran, commissioned as an officer in the Minnesota Army National Guard joining in 2002 serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He twice earned the "Bronze Star, [he's authorized] to wear the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, an Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, the Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, the D.C. National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon, a NATO Medal, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and an Expert Infantryman Badge.

He retired as a major, and refers to himself as a recovering neocon now believing invading Iraq was a mistake.  He has critical insights on weapons procurement, training, DEI insanity, planning, and more.  But Whoopi says he "clearly knows nothing about the military".

She must have used the same logic when she said Jill Biden was a great doctor and should have been made Surgeon General.  Jill Biden's degree was in education, not medicine.

To be a leftist requires massive mental capacity.  Why?  To justify their irrational views, and twisted logic must require unparalleled mental gymnastics. Fortunately, they're so obviously nuts, ordinary people with ordinary mental capacity can see through it all.  But that's not a deterrent to the left.  They lie, they know they lie, we know they lie, and they know we know they lie, and the brilliant conclusion these mental giants on the left come to is since everyone knows it all a lie, it isn't really a lie after all.  Ergo, why stop lying?

Gaetz was defeated as Attorney General even before he left the gate, and the claim is he knew he was guilty of something and couldn't face the music.  He said the Justice Department investigated him and didn't charge him, and if he was guilty, he'd be in jail now.   So why did he quit?  There were five Republican Senators who absolutely said they would not vote for him, three of whom thought Merritt Garland was perfectly acceptable, all five of which need to be primaried when their time comes.

As for releasing the House Ethics Committee report on him, which are usually filled with unsubstantiated claims..... he said, she said stuff.   But, I'm all for it, provided they release all the ethics reports, which have hidden all the provable vile antics of many of those in Congress, especially in those cases where government money was used to silence their accusers.

So now they're going to go after Pete Hegseth, and Tulsi Gabbard, which in her case I have to wonder how did she made the journey across the aisle from adoring Bernie Sanders to becoming a MAGA fan.   Just a thought mind you.

Know you're friends by their enemies, and Hegseth has all the right enemies.

CNN's Van Jones Explodes Over Trump’s Defense Secretary Pick because he thinks the military needs no correction, and he's a military expert?  He's a political analyst, media personality, lawyer, author, and civil rights advocate.  Actually, that's what he's paid for, but in reality he's just another a race baiting hustler, with no military credentials or experience, so he's just doing what he does best.  The race baiting hustle,  and Lloyd Austin is no better.  And he's not alone in the military or Department of Defense, which is filled with:

.......[a] regime of left-wing four-star generals and DoD lackeys [which] has produced one of the most disastrous tenures in the Pentagon's history. We've had spy balloons flying over the entire continental United States. We had the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster, which cost the lives of 13 American servicemembers and became a stain on the nation's history. Russia invaded Europe during the last four years while China and Iran have seen a resurgence in power and influence. The Middle East is the most unstable it has been since the end of Trump's first term.

Then we have Fauxcahontas, Elisabeth Warren, "who stole a job from a legitimate minority at Harvard" declaring he would make the military unsafe.  A military which is focused on DEI insanity, climate change, and electrifying America’s military forces is going to be unsafe if Hegseth is confirmed?  Really?  There's more, and it seems likely all these panicked voices may be connected to Obama, who "has been running a shadow presidency since he left the White House in January 2017."

The Democrats/socialists/communists and DEI misfits scream he's not qualified, it's racism, white privilege, he's too young, he's a media guy.  Well, he's 44, he has excellent military experience and performance, a lot of media people have migrated into administrations in the past, and I really don't care if black race hustlers are upset he's going to fire a DEI general, and probably a lot of white ones.  After all, considering the disaster of the Afghanistan pull out, who are they to criticize anyone?   It's time to eliminate DEI in the military and demand MEI, Merit, Excellence, and Intelligence.

This brings me to the rape scandal, a vile and unending tactic by the left.  While he admits to a sexual liaison with this woman he claims it was consensual, and it was she who was the "aggressor" and there's video evidence to that, which is all confirmed in the police report.  The only crime committed here looks like is an effort at extortion by this woman.

This kind of thing no longer has the impact it did in times past.  The Establishment’s Scandal Scam Tactics Won’t Work Anymore.  The Pravda media cares little for the truth, they only care about framing an innocent man and destroying him for political purposes, and it's just not working any longer.

He has his defenders also.  Scott Jennings tore into Pentagon leadership, he called him an 'American Hero', and Bill Ackman says he will be a revolutionary leader for the military, GOP Senators Express Confidence in Hegseth’s Confirmation, and I agree.   I just hate the tattoos.

Senator John Thune: New Majority Leader

What happened to transparency? Republican senators held a SECRET vote to pick their next leader. (Did they also say, “Thank you, sir, may I have another.”)

320" />

Instead of going with President Trump’s preference of Florida Senator Rick Scott, the secret vote went to Establishment Senator John Thune of South Dakota. Following the vote, Charlie Kirk, founder and director of Turning Point USA, said on his podcast:

We don't know how people voted. Of all the votes that they take, this is one of the most important votes that they take. Since Republicans vote with the party 98% of the time, what matters is who are they actually putting in charge of the United States Senate, and the majority leader decides that. But their votes are private?

We don't actually know who voted for John Thune. We can guess. We can piece it together. We know some of his allies. I like Markwayne Mullen. I think he's a good man from Oklahoma. We've gotten to know each other. Don't agree on a lot of stuff, but he's willing to dialogue. He's behind John Thune. OK. I know some people are behind John Cornyn. But why the secret ballot? And it's very clear. They do a secret ballot because they're terrified of you.

John Thune is now Senate majority leader. If he does not support President Trump in these next 30 to 45 days to fill President Trump's cabinet, we will remove him. If he does support President Trump, we'll support him. But Thune won in the darkness. Thune did not win when people had to voice their support for John Thune.

The only way that they are able to keep business as usual in the Senate is to not have you see who's actually supporting business as usual in the Senate. And in some ways, that should give you some hope and that's some optimism. That should give you some confidence and encouragement. In some ways, that's actually a very good thing because they're terrified of you because you care and the American people have awoken from their slumber.

Scandals, We Have Scandals, We Have Lots and Lots of Scandals

By Rich Kozlovich

I'm really going to date myself here saying many years ago Perry Como had a very popular television show, and there was a segment where he would read some of the fan mail, and that started out with a tune, "Letters, we get letters, we get stacks and stacks of letters", so when I see this kind of thing being exposed this tune runs through my head, and in this case paraphrased as, "Scandals, We Have Scandals, We Have Lots and Lots of Scandals"!

Politics and scandals go hand in hand, but for the Democrats, it's a leftist tenet of faith with absolutely no regard for the people they claim to represent, the day to day working people of America, taking their money and kicking them to the curb when they don't need them any longer.

As I reported in my article, Kamala, The People's Choice For 2028!  Remarkable!, saying:

As time is moves along, truth generally follows, and it's now being shown while spending over a billion dollars,  and leaving a debt of 20 million dollars, her campaign knew Kamala had no to path to victory.  In point of fact, their entire operation was a one billion dollar lie........... DNC staffers are getting desperate, after Kamala hung them out to dry........, Kamala took a Hawaiian vacation as her staffers are still fighting for severance pay..........as Monica Showalter asks, "if she doesn't take care of her staff, does anyone imagine she'd take care of the American people?"

What I didn't know at the time was she was spending her Hawaiian vacation in a $7 million luxury mansion."  So, the question that should be asked is:  Who's paying for that?  All the while the Democrats are asking for donations to pay off the twenty million dollar debt, and this after spending one billion dollars like drunken sailors.

And the hits just keep right on coming.  Another scandal rocks Kamala Harris's failed presidential campaign, By Rajan Laad November 28, 2024.

The great English author, poet, lexicographer, and moralist Samuel Johnson famously said “The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.” These instances reveal the true character of the Democrats. .......The Washington Free Beacon revealed that Harris’ presidential campaign paid $500,000 to 'Reverend' Al Sharpton’s National Action Network nonprofit.  What did Harris receive in exchange?

A softball interview on Sharpton's program on MSNBC, [a filmed broadcast interview allowing for retakes where] Sharpton called Kamala's campaign both "extraordinary" and "historic" while referring to President Trump as "hostile and erratic." He asked a series of easy questions, he asked Kamala if men who opposed her were "misogynistic."  MSNBC is claiming or perhaps feigning ignorance about the donations made to Sharpton's organization.

Imagine that, Al Sharpton and scandal appearing in the same sentence.  Just like Captain Renault, I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

Sharpton has been scandalous his entire career.  My friend Mychal Massie called him a "A Coward and A Liar", a race baiting hustler making millions with his intimidation "business model" of '‘donate or you are a racist",  and then he'd show up with loud protestors.  Instead of them being charged with crimes, what ended up happening was businesses donated, generously, gutlessly, in order to get them to go away.

That used to be a crime called extortion, which BLM, AOC, Joy Reid, and all the other race baiting hustlers are following Sharpton's "business model".  The author goes on to describe how Sharpton has enriched himself, and ends with this thought:

When one learns of Harris’s billion-dollar catastrophe and its excesses it either causes disgust or ridicule with an undercurrent of schadenfreude.  But this is a grave matter that could be cases of bribery, money laundering, or even theft. This must be investigated, perhaps Trump's DOJ will look into this.  These stories of corruption and reckless spending are a reminder that the U.S. didn’t dodge a bullet but a massive meteor on Nov. 5.

A Letter from a J6 Prisoner, By KGxCAJ6er, Part 1

Dear Robin,

I want to thank you for your invitation to say a few words to your Patriot Neighbors readers.

First and foremost, I want to thank you personally for your uncompromising Love and overwhelming/unwavering support for me and my wife. I will never forget what you've done for us, and I'm forever indebted to you and your husband Larry for your loyalty, kindness and friendship. Your letters of support and the personal sharing of your life's experiences touched my heart and kept me going through this unimaginable injustice imposed upon our country's citizens. You provided strength and encouragement in my moments of weakness.

(Note: Robin writes Kevin each week with 6–8-page typed letters.)

The political events that Patriots tirelessly planned and sponsored over the past 4 years, assured me of their tireless and relentless pursuit of liberty and freedom for this country. Their efforts to unify the California Republican party, leading the battle cry to free the J6ers, and bring California back to her golden glory days, was nothing short of miraculous. Patriots’ influence with the leaders and change makers across the state helped local, state and federal representatives get elected into positions of power to make a difference in the lives of Americans everywhere. For this I thank you and all Patriots for your sacrifice and dedication to this country's Constitution.

I know that someday I will be free again, not of my own accord, but through the efforts of American Patriots all across this beautiful country who supported me both financially and politically. I'd like to thank the many Patriots and supporters who took the time to write to me while I am incarcerated. These 20 or so Patriots, and the many organizations, spiritually blessed me. Their prayerful messages for my wellbeing gave me a purpose that was ordained by God and the Holy Spirit. These men and women, of all ages, provided strength and purpose in my resolve to trust in God's plan for my life. His plan was revealed by bringing me into a more meaningful relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I believe I was tasked with writing spirit-led letters in kind to the same supporters who inspired me, to dig deeper into the Word, and bring forth His loving words and blessings to them and their families. I am truly humbled by the kindness and compassion that was poured out to a complete stranger. I'm so thankful to have gotten to know these amazing Americans and their unwavering support of the J6ers who were imprisoned over the past 4 years. These Patriots tracked where each J6er was incarcerated and reached out to each of us and our families with love, support, and friendship. Their support included, providing commissary funds, reading materials, Bibles, and other essential items and documents to help fight this injustice and ease the impact of confinement.

The unbelievable support provided to the J6 community inspired hope and confidence that our sacrifice was not in vain; that Americans understood that good men and women could not stand idol while our government was being overthrown by evil forces within our own Republic. As Edmond Burke said: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Our freedoms were being stolen and our country was in peril of becoming a communist regime. We found out that freedom isn't free, and we sacrificed ourselves to save our beloved country. As Patrick Henry proclaimed, "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!" Our goal was to prevent our Nation from falling into the hands of these elites and power mongers who sold out our country to the globalist's for personal gain.

Next week:

Our J6er discusses the presidential election and how his strong faith in Jesus Christ has helped him in prison.

Happy Libertarian Thanksgiving

November 28, 2024 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

I’ve shared videos from Reason, Stossel, and Prager that tell the story of how redistributionism and lack of property rights almost killed the Pilgrims.

This Thanksgiving, here’s another version of that bit of history from the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

For all intents and purposes, what happened to the Pilgrims is captured by this video about redistributing grades.

Or this iconic cartoon.

Simply stated, it’s not a good idea to break the link between effort and reward.

It’s also not a good idea to interfere with market forces. Back in 2017, I shared a video about the “invisible hand” that featured bread.

Today, let’s apply the same lesson to turkeys. Here are some excerpts of Dominic Pino’s column in National Review.

How many turkeys are needed for Thanksgiving? …You could count the number of people in the city as a starting point. …Of course, not every individual needs a turkey, so the number of households might be more helpful. But not every household needs a turkey, either. …You could send out a survey ahead of time to ask people what their turkey needs are. But you can’t just create new turkeys overnight. They need to be born and raised well in advance. …Of course, no part of Thanksgiving actually works this way. …Nobody has to figure out at the national level, or the city level, how many total turkeys are needed ahead of time. It’s an impossible question to answer. That’s why we have markets instead of centrally planned Thanksgiving. …Each store knows that people will want turkeys around Thanksgiving time, so they place orders from suppliers based on that knowledge. They know roughly how many customers they serve and specialize in getting orders right. …Suppliers know that stores are going to want turkeys around Thanksgiving, so they deep-freeze them months in advance. …The planning process for Thanksgiving turkeys is decentralized through markets. Millions of people at various points in the process plan small things that are within their power to control, and with the aid of the price system, people get the turkeys they want. …This Thanksgiving, be grateful for spontaneous order, and for all the people up and down the supply chain who, knowingly or unknowingly, helped to get your holiday meal to you.

By the way, the same lesson applies to roses.

The moral of the story is that the invisible hand of the market works miracles, unlike the “grabbing hand” of government.

P.S. Some of our friends on the left don’t appreciate Thanksgiving. Let’s hope we never have to endure the type of holiday they would prefer.

Here's What I Believe, What I Don't Believe, and The Fix

By Rich Kozlovich

Editor's Note: I originally ran this on May 19, 2022, with a couple of comments worth viewing. For some reason it's been hit a lot in the last 48 hours, and as I re-read it I thought, given what's going on, this needed to be republished with some updates. Enjoy! RK

The insanity I've seen displayed over the last sixty years years has been mind boggling. I wish I could have said things have improved.  While we have great technology and advancement, plenty of food, at least until now, good medical care, until now, and longer lives, we have to consider what's happening to the American culture.  Conclusion?  It hasn't improved.  I wish was completely wrong.  I'm not!

Here are the things I believe.

I believe the left hates Trump even when he does things they like, just like they hated Nixon, who promulgated more far left policies that impact our culture and economy than most 20th century presidents, including the EPA, OSHA and more, much more.  And they hated him.  Why?  Because he was an anti-communist, and that's what tells the tale about who the left really is.

The mental gymnastics leftists and RINO's must go though to criticize Trump, and conservatives, has been remarkable.  The media's irrational rantings have been so outrageous you can't help but laugh.  The lies, misdirection, logical fallacies Democrats spew out about conservatives is so obviously false I wonder how their mind became so twisted.  Whether they believe what they're saying it or not.

I can honestly say I didn't like Trump yesterday, I don't like him today nor will I like him tomorrow, as a person.  When I say that to my conservative friends they respond:  Who does?  But we all agree, he's a leader!  And as President of the United States, I believe he may possibly be one of the greatest Presidents this nation has ever had, even with a split Presidency.

I believe the RINO's and Neo-Cons hate Trump because he wants to dismantle a system that's made they and their friends powerful and wealthy.  In that regard, the left and the RINO/Neo-Cons, are in harmony and explains why they've been so cozy hoping to even now destroy Trump in order to keep him from running for President again.

This has exposed the RINO/Neo-Cons, like Liz Chaney and others, for who and what they are.   That will help define who and what the Republican party is and will be.  They're the reason the Republican party has been consistently called, and acted like, the Stupid Party.

Here's what defines a Republican as a RINO.
  1. They are totally out of touch with their base.  A base that subscribe to traditional American Judaic/Christian values.
  2. They're actually more in harmony with the Democrat left.
  3. They have no sense of loyalty or justice and are totally self-serving.
  4. They take actions that are clearly detrimental to the nation for political or financial gain.
There's a lot of talk about draining the swamp and fixing the Deep State, but that would take a lot more than rolling back a few liberal left wing initiatives.  It requires an entire restructuring of the liberal/leftist/progressive vision and central power governing structure, and the initiatives they've insidiously imposed on the nation through regulations, spending and taxes. That can't be done without restructuring government by eliminating whole departments of the federal government.

To fix it you must shrink it, and that must be done on a massive scale, and that includes eliminating the Departments of Labor, Energy, Education, Commerce, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development and Transportation.  Combine Home Land Security and Veterans Departments with the Department of Defense.  Combine Agriculture and Interior.   Remember, the Post Office once was a Department, and now it's not, and it should be joined by those I've listed here, and that includes the frighteningly large number of agencies that work for those departments.

Let's take the Department of Agriculture which is a massive and expensive self serving boondoggle.  A vast bureaucracy with a budget of some $130 billion.  That's larger than the farmer's net income.  It redistributes funds according to formulas created decades ago and is a massive hog trough of federal funding.
  • $20 billion in various crop “supports” to the nation’s wealthiest farmers
  • $5 billion in ethanol subsidies
  • Grants that amount to welfare to the wealthy, and food stamps to the poor.

While the department does good things that need to be retained we have to recognize their real mission!  Mostly to provide cash to political constituents.  It needs purged. As it is now:

  • Too many "Americans" think government is the answer and not the problem.
  • Too many Americans don't think they're Americans.
  • Too many Americans hate America.
  • Too many Americans are remarkably ignorant of American history.
  • Too many Americans fail to realize how unique American style republican democracy is in all of world history.
  • Too many Americans graduate from school semi-illiterate, and amazingly ignorant.
  • Too many Americans graduate from college filled with false information and assumptions about how the world works, or should work, and are arrogant in their ignorance.
  • Too many Americans no longer are people of faith, and as a result have no moral foundation other than the latest philosophical flavor of the day, and that's a foundation of shifting sand.
Is it any wonder society is being washed back and forth like waves crashing against the rocks to its destruction?

Here's what I don't believe:
  • I don’t believe Social Security will there for my children and it may not be there for me for much longer. Social Security was supposed to stop being self-funding by 2020 and bankrupt by 2030, and it will go bankrupt with the federal government owing the Social Security fund trillions of dollars they borrowed with non-redeemable bonds.  (Here's the  Summary of the 2021 Annual Reports, Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees)
  • I don't believe our children and grandchildren will have a better life than we did.
  • I don’t believe Medicare and Medicaid can survive the decade.
  • I don’t believe crony capitalism will be less but more – especially since this pattern goes back to the Whiskey Act of 1791.
  • I don’t believe those who left California because they made a mess of it won’t attempt to make a mess of the states they moved to. Currently residents of Democrat run states are fleeing in droves to Republican run states, but they're probably going to take the ideas that destroyed the states they're leaving and vote for them in the states they're moving to.
  • I don't believe spending billions will end poverty.  Colorado is a perfect example.
  • I don't believe spending billions will fix homelessness.  California spent billions to fix homelessness and it only dropped one percent.  Even if those billions amounted to only "two billion that would come to 1.3 million to get one person off the street".
  • I don't believe you can convince liberals their leftist philosophy has been the most irrational, misanthropic and morally defective belief system in all of world history.  In spite of the most recent and ongoing human disaster leftists imposed on Venezuela.  Millennials all want us to still "Feel the Bern."
  • I don’t believe the national debt can be paid unless the government sells its assets - which amounts to 150 trillion dollars – and they won’t.
  • I don't believe diversity and multiculturalism, is anything more than a leftist scheme to undermine and destroy the American identity, the American culture, the American economy and overturn the U.S. Constitution.   Diversity without accomplishment is incompetence without consequence.
  • I don't believe the world's economy is stable.  The unending amount of debt the world's nations has accumulated, and continues to accumulate, is going to cause a worldwide economic depression.
  • I don't believe the EU can survive to 2025, but certainly by 2030.
  • I don't believe Europeans can tolerate the Muslim invasion much longer without civil war breaking out all over Europe if Europe wishes to be European.
  • I don't believe the Middle East or anywhere in the world that's dominated by Islam is fixable.
  • I don't believe Russia or China can withstand an international economic down turn, let alone a collapse.
  • I don't believe a nation that abandoned the moral foundations that made them great can survive.
  • I don't believe large corporations are concerned about anything except the next quarterly report, and in no way will they support anything considered conservative, in their views, their actions or their philosophy, even if it impacts their profit margins.
  • I don't believe any of the problems listed above can be fixed until public education is fixed.
  • I don't believe public education can be fixed until the federal government is forced out of it.
  • I don't believe public education can be fixed unless the states follow Governor Ron DeSantis' lead and pass legislation to teach the truth about communism and all the other leftist clabber.
  • I don’t believe academia can be purged of its far left Frankfurt School aficionados unless we stop funding these universities with taxpayer dollars and student loans. They can't be fixed until they have to become self supporting "for profit" institutions.
  • I don't believe there is such a thing as man made climate change.
  • I don't believe green activists aren't anything but dishonest, irrational, misanthropic and morally defective misfits.
  • I don't believe spending can be brought under control without repealing the 16th Amendment.
  • I don't believe you can reduce corruption in government without repealing the 17th Amendment.
  • I don't believe the federal government can be fixed without passing a 28th Amendment creating term and age limits for Congress, and the federal judiciary, nor do I believe the judiciary will remember it's proper role until age and term limits are imposed.
  • I don't believe government can be fixed without passage of a 29th Amendment creating sundown laws for all federal  departments, agencies, bureaus and any official agency of the federal government, and all federal laws and regulations, with the goal of reducing the size and scope of the federal government.
So what is it that I really believe?  I believe leftism is like rust.  It never sleeps.

Trump Gets Migration Agreement from Mexico – What Everyone Misses

Fourth Estate obfuscation buries the win.

Trump Gets Migration Agreement from Mexico – What Everyone Missesl

On Wednesday, November 27, President-elect Donald Trump and Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo talked about closing the US-Mexico border. Behind the conversation, it seems an accord is waiting in the wings. While both sides declared the discussion productive, an undercurrent is being purposely obscured by US media.

The Mexico Connection

“Just had a wonderful conversation with the new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Trump wrote on social media. “She has agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border. We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the United States, and also, U.S. consumption of these drugs. It was a very productive conversation!”

He later declared boldly, “Mexico will stop people from going to our Southern Border, effective immediately. THIS WILL GO A LONG WAY TOWARD STOPPING THE ILLEGAL INVASION OF THE USA. Thank you!!!”

Despite President Sheinbaum’s combative tone last week when responding to Trump’s threat to impose a 25% tariff on America’s southern neighbor, she lauded the talks and her own efforts to stop the flow of people:

“Thanks to this, migrants and caravans are assisted before they reach the border… We reiterate that Mexico’s position is not to close borders but to build bridges between governments and between peoples.”

And yet, enthusiasm is notably lacking in the media coverage.

Unleash the Pooh-Poohing!

DC’s most notable newspaper was quick to pooh-pooh the news, insisting that:

“While migrants routinely form caravans in southernmost Mexico to move through dangerous areas where they could be kidnapped, the caravans typically only travel a few days before they’re disbanded by Mexican authorities. Not a single big migrant caravan has made it to the U.S. border in at least six years.”

But this ignores the reality of the situation in a way that demonstrates either an obtuse ignorance or a purposeful diminishing of what it actually means.

Of course, big caravans do not make it to the US border! Why would they? Why would migrants travel hundreds of miles to make an illegal crossing and then line up at a single spot where they could be waiting days to get through or be corralled when they finally do? Caravans travel together until they are within range and then spread out to improve their chances of a successful crossing. That the DC news purveyor would suggest otherwise is almost certainly designed to delude their dwindling readership into thinking an agreement with Mexico is either futile or window-dressing.

However, the coalescing battle against Trump’s plans is perhaps even more spurious.

Since Donald Trump announced his across-the-board tariff proposal, both social and legacy media have been flooded with two arguments. The first is that “avocados will be more expensive,” and the second is that “American consumers will carry the burden.” These twin rebuttals are as self-serving as they are disconnected.

The Avocado Assault

Let’s talk avocados. A bevy of posts and articles declare that the cost of food – and for some reason, avocados are the go-to example – will rise by a quarter. “Hope you like paying more for your guac” is an oft-repeated dig at those who voted for Trump. How out of touch can a group of disaffected “resistance” fighters be to think the American public would rather have open borders with its high cost and increased criminality just to get their tasty green dip?

The shade of Marie Antoinette would doubtless approve.

Then there is the argument stating the American taxpayer will be the most negatively impacted by a 25% tariff. Certainly, the US gets a big chunk of exports from Mexico, but the balance is unequal. More than 78% of Mexican exports go to America; should the US decide that a price increase imposed by the seller is too high, consumers might just cut back. That’s an outsized detriment to businesses south of the border.

President Sheinbaum has to live in the political world, and she has a choice: stop the flow of migration or suffer the wrath of every business that relies on exports. Whether Americans stop buying, buy less, or find other suppliers from third-party nations who can now compete thanks to a price hike, it all points to an economic catastrophe. Or she could close her southern border, and trade can continue as normal.

Remember, at today’s prices, avocados in Mexico are around $1.30 per pound. In Columbia, that’s about 90 cents.

The Self-Preservation Society

The barrage of criticism – some valid, much not – against Trump’s proposed tariffs mainly focuses on prices. What is entirely missed is that tariffs are and always have been a political tool. When President Sheinbaum said she would impose her own reciprocal trade costs, the US media did not leap to crucify her over the damage it would do to her economy. Instead, the Fourth Estate closed its collective eyes and sought to demonize President-elect Trump and play a dishonest language game where bad things only happen on one side of the border.

It seems that the incoming president, in reality, does not want tariffs. Instead, he is using the threat (and, make no mistake, it is a threat he fully intends to carry out) to deal with the humanitarian crisis that faces the United States.

President Sheinbaum may just be going through the motions with talks of “cooperation” and “increased security,” but when those tariffs kick in, we may witness a Damascene conversion that makes her a true believer in national sovereignty and border security.

Hating Thanksgiving

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without turkey, long lines, and people browsing their phones for Black Friday deals in which the products had their prices raised by 80% and then cut by 80% before being stealthily replaced by Amazon with identical looking Chinese knockoffs.

And it also wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the media launching another round of shots in its endless war on America with 'explainers' claiming that the Pilgrims were racist and that we should be ashamed of the holiday.

(Axios even managed to slander Sarah Josepha Hale, an abolitionist who helped make Thanksgiving a national holiday (and wrote 'Mary had a Litte Lamb') by accusing her of racism.)

After a week of agonizing over why America hates them and rejected their candidate, the media returned once more as a dog to its vomit to despising everything American and trying to destroy it.

The point of the Thanksgiving story is not what eventually happened between the pilgrims and some of the local Indian tribes (even less so whatever Hale thought about having black people colonize Liberia, a popular cause at the time and one that black nationalists began flirting again with Africanization during the black power movement), it's that two groups were able to set aside their conflicts, eat together and show gratitude.

It's a point even more important at a time when the media repeatedly encourages conflicts over Thanksgiving dinner and some children are refusing to visit their parents for Thanksgiving over election resentments.

Gratitude is important, but it's also the context of that gratitude. Thanksgiving is about gratitude to the Creator, but it's also about finding a point of harmony with our fellow men for at least a brief period.

That's also what Armistice Day (now Veteran's Day) and Memorial Day (originally Decoration Day) were about.

Some of our crucial holidays were about finding brotherhood and fellowship in the face of conflict. Thanksgiving brought together Pilgrims and Indians, Memorial Day, families of the fallen on both sides of the Civil War, and Veteran's Day marked a time when the guns stopped firing and Americans, English, French, Germans and Austria-Hungarians could come together. (My grandfather, who was a doctor on the Austria-Hungarian side, used that time to provide emergency medical aid to an 'enemy soldier' on the other side of the lines.)

It's the people who most need this message who also seem least able to take it in.

Leftists politicize everything and therefore they cannot coexist with anyone which is why Thanksgiving has to be yet another extension of the culture wars, dividing up families and the entire nation.

And as for gratitude, that requires finding the good and then thanking a higher power for it. Not only do few lefties believe in any such power, but gratitude requires putting aside the resentments that fuel the movement.

Like petulant teenagers, leftists triumphantly argue that the past was not perfect. As if anyone or anything is.

The point of gratitude and fellowship is not that anyone or anything is perfect, but that in an imperfect world, we can stop to appreciate what we have and to appreciate each other. What sworn enemies were able to do for centuries, leftists seem unable to do today. Immersed in comfort and shared values, they cannot do what worn and hungry men on the verge of losing their lives were able to do for the last four hundred years.

America needs gratitude and fellowship now more than ever. And it needs a people capable of it.
