USAID Bureaucrats and the Deep State Purge

By Rich Kozlovich

On June 3, 2026 Mike McDaniel over at American Thinker posted this article, Oh no! Government employees are losing their jobs, saying:

Among the greatest early accomplishments of the second Trump Administration was the shuttering of USAID. It’s great in part because it’s saving billions previously supposedly spent on trans camel surgeries in the third-world, but also because it has shut down innumerable Democrat NGOs and non-profits, including the Democrat National Committee, which, within a month, went broke and had to borrow millions just to keep the lights on.

It seems USAID’s money—taxpayer money—wasn’t just spent on bizarre, leftist boondoggles overseas. It largely funded the Democrat Party and their cronies in America.  Smart, that Trump guy.  A recent, tear-drenched New York Times article spoke of the tragedy of six-figure government employees, now out of a job and unable to find work due to the cruelty of Trump:......

The fact is USAID was a gigantic scam, and now Cindy McCain is upset there’s not enough money to feed the world’s starving people, which the Pravda media insists .... falsely.... will kill 14 million people.  Well, I keep coming back to these fundamental questions.

  1. Why are so many starving?
  2. How long have they been starving?
  3. How long should funding be provided to feed them?
  4. How did it become America’s responsibility to feed them?

We didn’t cause their problems and we’re not obligated to fix them. When you look around the world, we find the countries where all this starvation is going on are being run by totally corrupt leftist tyrants, just like Venezuela where the leadership has stashed billions away in foreign banks.

It’s natural to feel compassion for starving children, it’s Christian ethic, but it still comes down to this.  We have to see things clearly.  Once it becomes government policy it stops being charity and compassion, and it becomes fraud and politics, with those running these programs morally unfit to handle anyone’s money, and USAID was the perfect example of that corruption.

If the Cindy McCain’s of the world are so concerned then let up and fund private entities to feed them.  Once it’s their money let’s see how long that lasts.

Update, 7/13/26 -  “The Deep State Firings Have Begun”: Bill Pulte Starts Slashing Jobs at Office of Director of National Intelligence

Well, It's Howdy Doody Time Again.

By Rich Kozlovich

It's Howdy Doody time and will the congressional puppets in Congress shut down the government in October 2025?  While they passed a budget, there's "appropriated federal funding expires after September 30, 2025", which I won't try to explain as I really don't understand this since the budget passed, why are there separate "appropriations" from he budget.  But it appears there's a funding bill that must be introduced and passed before October first, or, the government will shut down.   The Democrats say they don't care if the government shuts down, and if the Republicans want to avoid a government shutdown, they insist the Republicans must come to them saying:

“We have two weeks,”........“They should sit down and talk to us and we maybe can get to a good proposal, let’s see. But when they don’t talk to us, there’s no hope of getting to a good proposal.”.....

And of course a good proposal means giving the Democrats everything they want, which includes:

....... provisions preventing the administration from rescinding spending and slashing environmental programs and provisions restoring funds to public broadcasters. It would also extend expiring Obamacare premium tax credits and undo Medicaid reforms from Republicans’ budget reconciliation bill............

Well, it just might be possible he and the rest of the Congressional Democrats are finally getting the idea; Republicans aren't going to do what they've done so often in the past and play the supplicant role begging for crumbs while giving the store away to arrogant leftists.

It also appears the Democrats are getting that, and really aren't so hot about a government shut down since it appears they'll be blamed.  In days past the Pravda media always made the Republicans the bad guys, but those days are gone since no one believes anything they say and the alternative media will devastate the Democrats with reality.   Oh, one more point, Fetterman is adamantly opposed to shutting down the government and will vote for the extension.  Amazing, while he's still a leftist Democrat, he gives the impression of being a better Senator than Ole Doc Oz would have been.

But the Democrats have a problem, what they've created is killing them.  They created and catered to a base that's so far left they're hysterical demanding they fight to the last man.  What one writer called the Götterdämmerung approach, i.e., Ragnarok, Twilight of the Gods, Valhalla in Flames, "blow it all up and pick up the pieces later."

Here's the reality.  The term government shut down is a misnomer.  The government does not shut down, as the trillions of dollars they take in every year pours in every month whether they're in a "shut down" mode or not, and this time the book on this is the Democrats will be blamed.

I say let it shut down, it will be a good excuse to stop paying for a lot of stuff being fought over in the courts and purge the federal government's deep staters with permanent layoffs.   We win, they lose.

L.A. Riots, Part III

By Rich Kozlovich, Tags:

As we watch these "mostly peaceful" and totally "spontaneous" acts of murder, looting, destruction of private property, and out of control violence it's been obvious many of these "mostly peaceful" rioters are paid protestors, and that same pattern is playing out in Los Angeles.  But this time there's a new sheriff in town and he wants to know who's paying for all of this, and since this clearly is a paid insurrection, he sent in the Marines, and he's making sure the DOJ is going to find out who's providing the body armor and face masks, none of which is cheap.

  • Who Is Handing Out Face Shields and Other Tactical Gear to Rioters, and Who Is Paying for It? - Somehow, the narrative that the Los Angeles rioters are a spontaneous gathering of peaceful, concerned citizens always seems to fall apart just as it's about to go viral....
  •  FBI probes foreign, domestic funding behind anti-ICE riots - FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the bureau is actively investigating financial networks behind the escalating anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. The unrest, which began as protests over immigration raids, has turned violent—raising alarms about foreign interference and taxpayer-funded activism.,,,,
  • FBI Investigating Money Trail Behind Los Angeles Riots, Patel Says - The FBI is investigating what is fueling the riots against immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, the agency’s director Kash Patel said.  “The FBI is investigating any and all monetary connections responsible for these riots,” Patel told The Epoch Times in response to rising concerns about possible Chinese influence behind the chaos. One group backing the unrest is the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a communist political party linked to networks funded by pro-Beijing tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham.

I'll tell you what, we'll come back to Neville Roy Singham.

These foot soldiers of the Democrat party are illegal aliens, communists, socialists, Antifa, Marxists, and Islamists, all of whom are at war with the federal government and these Mexican and Palestinian flag wavers and were funded by socialist NGOs, which are funded by the federal government, which is a bit startling, and as you read the article you realize this is extensive. "Civil rights attorney Laura Powell posted on X that the groups behind the seven violent protests are awash in government grants. "Government grants" means that you're paying for the rope to hang yourself."

  •  Check Out the Taxpayer-Funded Nonprofit Behind the Anti-ICE Riots in Los Angeles -  If anyone thinks these anti-ICE riots in LA are organic, we've got a lovely bridge for sale ... We get it, the Left, Democrats, and the mainstream media really want us all to believe these brave people are just rising up because they're so passionate about protecting IMMIGRANTS from evil, fascist Trump, but C'MON already......
  • “Bionic Shields” Bodes The Question: Who’s Funding These Riots? It’s time to find the head of the treasonous snake who is aiding and abetting these thugs and to chop it off as an example for future radical protests......
  • Turns Out Traitor Joe’s DHS Funded the Group Behind the LA Riots - The Department of Homeland Security is funding one of the groups that is staging protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which falls under DHS. War Room's Natalie Winters shared the shocking information on X, showing that DHS, under the Biden administration,  gave a project grant to Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) in the amount of $450,000...
  • Evidence suggests Los Angeles 'riots' over ICE raids could be government-funded - What began as a so-called "spontaneous protest" against ICE enforcement operations in Los Angeles has now been exposed as something far more insidious: a well-funded, coordinated riot, with ties to radical left-wing organizations, government-backed NGOs, and even a billionaire known for pushing Chinese Communist propaganda...
  • Governor Newscum and Democrat Lawmakers Take Funds From Police to Fund the Communist Uprising - California State Rep. Carl DeMaio is fighting for Prop 36 which stiffens penalties for serious crimes (see below). What he is getting from Gavin Newsom is the opposite. Gov. Gavin ‘Pomade’  Newsom and California Democrats just released a budget that cuts law enforcement. To make matters worse, it gives those funds to groups behind the violent Los Angeles riots...
  • FBI Arrests Commie Riot Supplier and Known Member of the Brown Berets Terrorist Organization - The first rule in unraveling conspiracies: Follow the money. Earlier this week, FBI Director Kash Patel declared that the riots in Los Angele are not organic spillovers from extemporaneous protests against ICE, but well-funded operations designed to create mayhem in the streets. The point of the riots is to terrorize communities and intimidate federal law enforcement from carrying out legitimate operations, Patel said at the time, and the FBI planned to roll up the conspirators forthwith.....
  • California Democrats Dumped $73M into Migrant NGOs Opposing ICE - California’s Democrat-controlled state legislature has pushed tens of millions of tax dollars into the hands of non-governmental organizations that work to thwart deportation and out ICE agents, according to a report......
The funding is massive and it's a shared endeavor, which brings me back to Neville Singham, who it's claimed is "the communist behind the “organic” riots in Los Angeles and across the country are being funded by Neville Singham, according to DataRepublican and Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna."

And who are the people ICE is sweeping up in their raids?

“Murderers, pedophiles, and drug traffickers. These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect. How much longer will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens?” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Secretary Noem has a message to the LA rioters: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE will continue to enforce the law and arrest criminal illegal aliens.”

As for the celebrity  who are coming out in droves to support these terrorists, I think it's a good idea to ask them which child molesters, murderers, rapists, and organized criminal thugs would they like to have living near them?  And I really love it when someone like Eva Longoria, who lives in a mansion in Spain, is so emotional about how terribly un-American it is for ICE to enforce American laws she just starts crying.

America Shouldn't Be Propping Up An Al Qaeda Terror State

By Daniel Greenfield, @ Sultan Knish Blog

In March, the Trump administration laid out conditions for ending sanctions on Syria.

The new Islamic terrorist regime led by a former Al Qaeda terrorist that had taken over Syria was warned to “exclude foreign terrorist fighters from any official roles”, difficult to imagine considering that the country was being run by domestic and foreign terrorists, “and ensure the security and freedoms of Syria’s religious and ethnic minorities”. Especially Christians.

“Any adjustment to U.S. policy towards Syria’s interim authorities will be contingent on all of those steps being taken,” the terrorist regime was warned.

This position was reaffirmed by the Trump administration in April at the UN Security Council.

Syria’s Jihadi government not only refused to expel its foreign Jihadi allies, but gave members of Al Qaeda and ISIS linked terrorists ranks in its new ‘military’. Syria not only harbors terrorist networks from as far away as China and Albania, but also Muslim terrorists from Western nations like Omar Diaby, listed by the United States as linked to Al Qaeda, who was “responsible for recruiting 80% of the French-speaking jihadists who went to Syria or Iraq” and who are at high risk of carrying out terrorist attacks in Europe and the United States.

With Al-Qaeda and ISIS Jihadis in control of Syria, the country’s Christians live in fear.

The new terrorist regime was supposed to protect Syria’s Christians as a precondition to dropping sanctions. And while Al-Jolani has made all sorts of assurances, Islamic terrorists remain in control of some Christian property seized during the war (many other churches were destroyed) and Christians have been warned to become Muslims or face the consequences.

Leaflets bearing the message “death to the pork eaters” and other threats against Christians continue to circulate. Selective curfews were imposed on Christians who defended themselves against Muslim violence and they were disarmed in at least one community.

Syria’s Christians are expected to entrust their security to the Al Qaeda and ISIS terrorists who massacred their families, took nuns hostage and destroyed churches. They’re terrified of what the future holds and they have every reason to be in a country run by terrorists whose religion commands the oppression, enslavement and or killing of everyone who isn’t a Sunni Muslim.

While the sanctions were imposed on the previous Assad regime, the Trump administration had tried to use them as leverage to convince the Al-Jolani regime to expel foreign Jihadis and protect Christians. Instead the towel was thrown in at the infamous meeting in Saudi Arabia.

And what is the United States getting in return for lifting sanctions and losing its leverage?

Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that the sanctions had to be lifted because of an urgent need to get aid into Syria. This argument, already deployed everywhere from Gaza to Yemen to Afghanistan to drop restrictions on delivering aid to terrorists has only made terrorism worse.

Sending aid to Syria, an enemy nation whose governments have been terrorists of one kind or another, is not a vital national interest. Ending the use of Syria by Islamic terrorist groups, some of whom pose a threat to the United States, is. And protecting Christians is a cultural interest.

Rubio also argued in the Senate that sanctions needed to be dropped because Syria was weeks or months “away from potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions, basically the country splitting up.” Why this would be any worse than the current state of affairs in which Al Qaeda and ISIS terrorists run the country was not made clear.

“We want to help that government succeed, because the alternative is full-scale civil war and chaos, which would, of course, destabilize the entire region,” he argued.

Do we really want terrorists to succeed in ruling Syria? Is that in our national interest?

Why is keeping Syria united under Turkish, Al Qaeda and ISIS rule preferable to letting the various ethnic and religious groups forced at gunpoint to pretend they’re part of one country get their independence? Syria’s Christians would be more likely to benefit from independence than rule by an Islamic terrorist coalition with a history of committing atrocities against Christians.

It’s obvious why Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other participants in the coalition of state sponsors of terror, including 9/11, and who helped engineer the Arab Spring, and the Jihadi takeover of Syria would want to keep the power they seized. And we know all too well why Republican globalists like McCain adopted those same positions and got the United States into the business of backing the Syrian ‘rebels’ no matter how often they showed their true Jihadi colors.

But why is the Trump administration adopting this rebooted Arab Spring?

The biggest evidence that dropping sanctions on the Al Qaeda regime and the $10 million reward for its leader, Al-Jolani, was a grave error was that it was immediately adopted by the EU.

“Today, we took the decision to lift our economic sanctions on Syria. We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, inclusive and peaceful Syria,” European Commission VP Kaja Kalla tweeted. Followed by her declaration that “Sanctions are working. They hit Russia’s economy hard and hamper its capacity to wage war.”

Why do sanctions work in Russia but not in Syria? Because the EU and globalist forces support the Al Qaeda takeover of Syria. And that’s already a good reason for us not to join them.

But from the Iran negotiations to a concern about “humanitarian aid” for Gaza, our foreign policy is starting to resemble Europe’s foreign policy and that of the Obama administration. What’s missing is any sense of why this is in our national interest. Obama and the EU reject the idea that national interests matter, only an amorphous concept of “values” that favors our enemies.

We should be able to do better than this 99 cent store globalism.

The best Rubio could do was to assert some sort of domino theory, arguing that, “When Syria is unstable, the region becomes unstable.” It’s hard to see what could destabilize the region more than Al Qaeda terrorists in charge of a country, but even taken at face value, that commits the Trump administration to perpetually maintaining stability across the Middle East by propping up any government, no matter how awful, and then watching the whole thing spin out of control anyway, and recapitulating the worst days of the Clinton, Bush and Obama years. Again.

The Trump era was supposed to restore foreign policy based on national interests and an end to the United States playing the world’s policeman. Cutting a deal with Al-Jolani just showcases the foreign policy disasters that led us into allying with Islamic terrorists in Syria a decade ago in the name of such vague concepts as international law, human rights and regional stability.

Democrats and Republicans got played by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Turkey and other Islamic states into embracing the Arab Spring. Now we’re being roped into supporting Jhadis taking over Syria all over again. And then where to next? Libya? Gaza? America?

We dropped sanctions on Syria in order to keep it in the hands of Al Qaeda while abandoning our best leverage for protecting Syria’s Christians and keeping terrorist groups from using Syria as a base. After Qatar stabbed us in the back in Afghanistan, we’re back to trusting it in Syria and Gaza. And we’ve forgotten that making deals with Islamic Jihadis only ends one way.

The same way it did for us in Afghanistan…with dead Americans and American hostages.

$3.5B From 9/11 Victims Being Held by U.S. for the Taliban

By Daniel Greenfield, @ Sultan Knish Blog

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, the United States has sent over $3.8 billion to Afghanistan. While President Trump has frozen most U.S. aid to Afghanistan, $120 million was still dispatched this quarter. And, more problematically, the UN continues to send billions in American hundred dollar bills to ‘capitalize’ the Taliban’s bank.

The Taliban have been auctioning off this money in currency auctions to keep the Afghan currency high against the dollar. This money, along with billions in seized weapons provided by the United States to the former Afghan government, has allowed the Taliban to finance Al Qaeda’s terrorist operations.Another $3.5 billion in funds stolen by the Biden administration from 9/11 survivors continues to be held in the Afghan Fund that will potentially also be used to capitalize the Taliban’s bank.

These shocking events, first reported by the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s investigative journalism in the aftermath of Biden’s panicked retreat, have been confirmed yet again by the Afghan war government watchdog known as SIGAR in its latest report on Afghanistan.

The USAID shutdown has kept billions of dollars in taxpayer money from continuing to go to Taliban controlled territories, but the UN and its nonprofits, some of which receive massive amounts of taxpayer funding for other projects, continue to feed a fortune into Afghanistan.

The UN’s World Food Programme, headed by Cindy McCain, after lying about a famine in Gaza to benefit the Hamas Islamic terrorist group, has taken to claiming that millions will die unless we continue funding its operations in Afghanistan.

The WFP claimed that President Trump’s aid pause “could amount to a death sentence for millions of people facing extreme hunger and starvation.” Similar false claims were made on behalf of the Houthi terrorists in Yemen and the Hamas terrorists in Gaza. In both cases there was no actual famine and the terrorist groups were seizing and profiting from foreign aid while using the false claims of famine to deter counterterrorist operations by the Saudis and Israel.

And while most U.S. direct funds have been currently cut off, the American University of Afghanistan continues to spend money even though it is no longer in Afghanistan. Instead it operates in the Islamic terrorist state of Qatar, an ally of the Taliban, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood, and taxpayers continue to subsidize Afghan students in Qatar and Turkey.

But ending US foreign aid to the Taliban terrorist state is only the beginning. SIGAR quotes UN reports confirming that the “Taliban utilized al Qaeda” and other Islamic terrorist groups “in operations against armed anti-Taliban opposition groups” and that “Al Qaeda affiliates in Afghanistan” still “continued to have access to weapons seized from the former Afghan

National Army” and that an Al Qaeda affiliate had gotten its hands on BGM-71 TOW missiles.

Furthermore, “the Taliban army chief of staff said the regime planned to provide the army with more advanced weapons and equipment, but did not specify from where or whom it could come.” The Taliban, in violation of its promises in the Doha accords in Qatar, from which it has since withdrawn, is not only harboring, but arming and equipping Al Qaeda.

That was the cause of September 11 and our subsequent intervention in Afghanistan.

While the United States need not directly go to war with the Taliban over it, we should at the very least block all further money from organizations that benefit from our funding, including the UN, from going to Afghanistan, and should treat any money being directed to Afghanistan, especially in U.S. dollars as a violation of the laws banning the funding of terrorism even if that money is supposedly being used for humanitarian aid. When humanitarian aid has been used to cover printing money on behalf of the Taliban and shipping money to the Taliban, the term has become a meaningless excuse for propping up an Islamic terrorist state sponsor of Al Qaeda.

The UN should be blocked from accessing further dollars from the Federal Reserve Bank in New York to ship to Afghanistan. According to SIGAR, the World Bank also reported that the Taliban’s currency rose sharply around Islamic holidays due to the “increased inflows of U.S. dollars during Ramadan and Eid,” which “boosted the supply of U.S. dollars and increased

the demand for local currency.” This is likely due to Afghan ‘refugees’ in the United States contriving to send money home. The Trump administration has taken the right course in seeking to remove the over 100,000 Afghan ‘refugees’ illegally imported by Biden during his retreat.

Recent outbreaks of Afghan violence in the United States with several stabbing incidents in Michigan, Texas and even Pennsylvania Dutch Country make their removal more urgent.

Anyone residing in the United States directing money to Afghanistan through any means should be prosecuted, deported if they are not a citizen, and denaturalized and deported if they are.

Finally, President Trump can remedy one of the most outrageous historic injustices imaginable by the Biden administration which fought 9/11 victims in court and seized $3.5 billion that should have gone to compensate the families of victims and placed it in an ‘Afghan Fund’ for the benefit of the murderous Islamic regime that harbored the killers of their families.

In 2022, Freedom Center Investigates exclusively reported that the Biden administration had seized $3.5 billion in wealth now owned by the Taliban in the United States to keep it from being awarded in a judgement to 9/11 family members. The money has now appreciated to nearly $4 billion and should be brought back to the U.S. and used to benefit Americans. Not terrorists.

Biden, who became the first president to skip a 9/11 commemoration, was uniquely friendly to Islamic terrorists and uniquely hostile to the memory of the September 11 attacks, had focused on closing Gitmo, freeing many Al Qaeda terrorists including an alternate 9/11 hijacker, an Al Qaeda ally who plotted to smuggle nukes into the country and many other major terrorists.

The billions sent to Afghanistan under Biden were a betrayal. While most of the money, like most of the weapons left behind, cannot be recovered, the Afghan Fund money can.

The Trump administration did the right thing by ending most of the flow of our money to the Taliban. SIGAR’s audit found that nearly half of the “implementing partners” distributing “aid” in Afghanistan had signed memorandums of understanding with the Taliban. Outrageously, the State Department allowed this to go on and the audit found that “State is not required to review the MOUs that implementing partners sign with the Taliban.” The humanitarian aid groups claiming that everyone in Afghanistan will die unless we fund them have been in bed with terrorists. And all of this went on with the complicity of the Biden administration whose USAID staffers actively obstructed any investigations of their ties to terrorists. They can never be trusted again. Neither can any of the organizations that signed memorandums with the Taliban.

The United States officially left Afghanistan, yet remained behind providing billions in foreign aid, printing and shipping currency to the state sponsor of Al Qaeda. It’s time for the American presence, including the the American University of Afghanistan, which is no longer in Afghanistan, to leave. It is not America’s business to provide foreign aid to the Afghans, to maintain a fund on their behalf or to allow organizations that we fund to aid Islamic terrorists.

Any money sent to Afghanistan aids the Taliban which in turn aids Al Qaeda. It’s time for us to leave Afghanistan and take the last of our money with us before we finance another 9/11.

Planned Parenthood Still Thrives on Taxpayer Funding

The reversal of Roe v. Wade doesn’t seem to have hurt their purse strings.

By | May 19, 2025 @ Liberty Nation News, Tags: Articles, Opinion, Politics

Planned Parenthood has so far weathered the storm of political backlash against abortions, flourishing despite laws in some states limiting or reducing access to the procedures. In fact, PP has been performing more abortions and getting more federal funding, even while other services, such as testing for sexually transmitted diseases and screening for breast cancer, have dropped.

Planned Parenthood Thriving

Ironically, Planned Parenthood released its 2023-2024 annual report on Mother’s Day. Titled “A Force for Hope,” the document stated that the organization had provided more than 400,000 abortions during that time frame, which was nearly 10,000 more than in the previous year – and a record high.

So, who is paying for all these procedures? The taxpayers, of course, are a big part of it. According to the report, public funding increased by about $100 million from the year before. Paying $792.2 million, we the people fronted nearly 40% of the organization’s revenue.

While abortion procedures continued to climb despite the overturning of Roe versus Wade, other critical services declined. Michael New, a senior associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute – the education and research arm of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America – told the National Catholic Register that taxpayers “are paying more money for more abortions and less health care.” New, also an assistant professor of practice at the Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America, said that “during the past 10 years, Planned Parenthood has done 54.4% fewer cancer screenings and 62.8% fewer prenatal services. Meanwhile the number of abortions that they have performed has increased by over 22%.”

According to the fact sheet released by Planned Parenthood, during the fiscal year, it had 2.08 million patients and performed:

  • 4 million services
  • 365,600 pap tests and breast exams
  • 2 million birth control services
  • 1 million STI tests and treatments
  • 402,200 abortions

The Charlotte Lozier Institute reported that, in 2022-23, “96.9% of the time, women seeking help related to their pregnancy at Planned Parenthood were sold an abortion rather than given prenatal care, provided care for a miscarriage, or helped to make an adoption plan.” Furthermore, “prenatal services, miscarriage care, and adoption referrals accounted for only 1.7% (7,008), 0.9% (3,598), and 0.5% (2,148) respectively.”

“From a Catholic perspective it is frustrating that the taxpayer dollars from countless faithful Catholics go to an organization that funds abortion, contraception, transgender treatments, and other activities that weaken families and undermine a culture of life,” New told the Catholic Register.

Plans in Motion to Defund PP

House Republicans are proposing changes to the Medicaid program, among other measures, that could remove funding for services at clinics that perform abortions, such as those run by Planned Parenthood.

Play Video
Kick Back and Ditch the Matrix

Interestingly, a tracking poll by KFF, self-identified as an independent source for health policy research, found that one in three women (32%) say they have gone to a Planned Parenthood clinic for care, and 43% of those aged 18 to 64 used Medicaid as their coverage. The average age for patients ranged from 30 to 64, with non-Hispanic Blacks making up the largest group at 45%. Non-Hispanic whites had the next highest patient counts at 30%, followed by Hispanics at 28%. And if you want the breakdown by political party, Democrats visited the most with 41%, then independents at 29%, and Republicans at 21%.

According to a Gallup Poll, as of May 2024, 50% of Americans felt abortion should be legal only under certain circumstances; 35% said the procedure should always be legal, and 12% said it should not be allowed under any conditions. The numbers have changed a bit since Gallup first started keeping track in 1975. Back then, 21% of poll takers said abortion should be legal under any circumstances; 54% said only under certain conditions, and 22% said it should be completely illegal. At a time when other vital health services at Planned Parenthood are declining, the fact that abortions are on the rise – as well as taxpayer funding for them – makes it clear where the organization’s priorities lie.

U.S. Sent Billions in Famine Relief to Yemen. The Population Rose 30%

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

In May 2024, the Biden administration announced that it was providing $220 million in aid to Yemen which the United States had been at war with since the start of that year.

Even while the US Navy was engaged in what the Associated Press would describe next month as the “most intense combat since World War II” with Yemen’s Houthi Jihadists, the U.S. Mission to Yemen boasted of having provided “nearly $5.9 billion” in aid beginning with the Obama administration, of being “the largest donor of humanitarian assistance” and urged that “other donors must join us in stepping up” to fund an Iranian-backed terror group at war with us.

A terror group whose motto, like its Iranian patrons, is “Death to America.”

One arm of the United States government, the Pentagon, was fighting the Houthis, while another arm, the State Department and USAID, were funding them. While Navy personnel on board US Navy vessels had seconds to prepare and counter Houthi strikes, State Department and USAID personnel worked to keep the Houthi’s Hodeidah port open so more “aid” could pass through it. The US Navy was not allowed to strike Hodeidah even though it was the Houthi lifeline for the weapons that the Houthis were using to attack American and other vessels.

The Biden administration had ended President Trump’s support for Saudi action against the Houthis and lavished a fortune on the terrorist areas because terrorist supporters and international groups had falsely claimed that Yemen was suffering from a deadly famine.

Before Islamic terrorist supporters, their leftist allies and international aid groups faked a famine in Gaza to save Hamas, #YemenFamine was trending on social media along with photos of wounded and starving children. Much as in Gaza, there was no famine. Rather the Houthis were seizing international aid which they then resold to create food shortages. The more aid came in, the more the Houthis seized. The fake famine was used to mount an international pressure campaign to end the attacks on the Houthis and send billions of dollars in relief to Yemen.

Massive shipments of urea, a fertilizer also used in explosives, were allowed into Yemen to help grow crops and stop the mythical famine. Even though urea was proscribed, the shipments were not interfered with in the name of ending the famine that wasn’t happening. Along with the urea came ammonium perchlorate which is used in rocket fuel. The rockets being fired at US Navy vessels were fueled by the famine lie. False claims of a famine were a tool of war.

By 2018, over $4 billion in humanitarian aid had poured into Yemen. The UN’s World Food Program, which would later invent and become the loudest voice promoting the Gaza famine hoax, operated 5,000 distribution sites to supposedly aid 10 million people whom it claimed were facing emergency conditions, but could only track 1 in 5 of its food basket allotments.

In 2017, two-thirds of those who were supposed to be receiving food had not gotten anything.

In one Houthi province, the UN sent twice as much food as the people needed, and came away claiming that the majority of the population was still in desperate need of food.

The WFP, and even the AP eventually admitted that the Houthis were taking much of the food. The Houthis created fake lists of starving people who needed food. International aid groups resorted to sending money so that Yemenis could buy the food aid that was being resold.

Even though all of this was well known, the Biden administration kept on sending more aid five years later. The money didn’t go to the people: it went to the Houthis at war with America.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s first order of business was taking the Houthis off the list of foreign terrorist organizations, making it legal to fund them, despite “their reprehensible conduct, including attacks against civilians and the kidnapping of American citizens” because of “the humanitarian consequences” that would take place in Yemen. Even as the Houthis went to war against America, “humanitarian aid” provisions protected the delivery of fuel, and the port and airport operations that allowed the Houthis to get more money and weapons.

Earlier this year, the UN demanded $2.47 billion for its 2025 Yemen Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan. In February, the Houthis killed a WFP worker (an event that got far less publicity than the deaths of aid workers in Gaza), but in April, the WFP expressed outrage that the United States was finally, at least temporarily, pausing aid and would not be allocating over $100 million in funds to the enemy region at war with the United States.

After 9 years of non-stop famine (and billions in spending), 17 million people are facing acute hunger in Yemen. That’s up from 15.9 million people in 2019.

Since the famine began, Yemen’s population shot up from 30 million to 39 million.

Having a population increase by 10 million or 30% during a famine is unprecedented. What accounts for this Yemeni miracle? Miraculously, Yemen’s population rose sharply as an unprecedented wave of foreign aid poured into this country. It’s unknown how many of these miracle births were real or fake names to collect yet more humanitarian aid for the hungry.

After the latest round of airstrikes, a Yemeni man interviewed on camera, chanted, “Death to America” and bragged that “our country is fortified with the skulls of American demons.”

More accurately, it’s fortified with $5.9 billion in American taxpayer money.

Since Yemen’s population seem to have figured out how to increase by a third during a famine affecting half their population, they clearly don’t need any more help from us, which should be used to help actual starvation victims in African countries that can’t just pump oil from the ground. Not only should we stop sending aid to Yemen, we should block all further aid.

If we don’t want to be in a perpetual war over passage through the Red Sea or depend on the goodwill of a terrorist group for access to it, we should cut off the money to the terrorists.

And while Iran has supplied the Houthis with weapons and money, in Yemen, much as in Afghanistan, Iraq and Gaza, much of the money going to the terrorists comes from us.

Bogus Beat: Big Money Left Funds Faux ‘Local’ Journalism Charade

State of the dominant press remains the same: severely compromised.

by | Apr 22, 2025 @ Liberty Nation News, Tags: Articles, Media, Opinion

The lines are more blurred than ever in US journalism today, and things are only getting worse. Progressive money groups are attempting to utilize a ruse of “saving local news” to dress up their activist agenda as valued neutral public resource. And big-name media outlets – have you ever heard of a TV channel called Fox News by any chance? – are happily partnering with them.

In February, the Gates Foundation, flagship “philanthropy” of messianic globalist Bill Gates, revealed it had issued a $120,000 grant to an organization called Civic News Company to “provide general operating support” for its US program.

Civic News Company serves as a central umbrella for three “local news” ventures: Chalkbeat, Votebeat, and Healthbeat. CNC expanded in 2024, hiring veteran big-box media executives. Shani O. Hilton, a former managing editor at the Los Angeles Times and vice president at leftist online news site BuzzFeed News, was brought on as editor-in-chief while Andrew Golis, an ex-VP at progressive outlet Vox, was named chief operating officer.

The company is flush to the gills with cash, thanks to its high-dollar “philanthropic” friends.

$50 Mil From Murky George and $30 Mil From Bill

“Founded in 2014, the organization has raised over $80 million during its 10-year history, including $14.7 million in fiscal year 2024,” CNC stated in a July release. “Civic News Company has a team of 80, including a newsroom of 50, with local Chalkbeat bureaus covering education in New York City, Colorado, Memphis, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, and Philadelphia; and a Votebeat presence covering election administration and voting in Arizona, Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Healthbeat will launch later this summer to cover public health in New York City and Atlanta.”

In other words, they’re on the grow.

Gates is not the only red-flag funding source for an ostensibly unbiased news organization to rely on. Ubiquitous progressive donor goliath Democracy Fund, run by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, and notorious George Soros dark money group New Venture Fund are listed as financial supporters of Votebeat.

We’re not kidding when we call it a Soros outfit: New Venture Fund “received $50,321,490” from the progressive globalist billionaire between 2016 and 2020, the Media Research Center reported in 2022.

The CNC’s Healthbeat platform operates “in partnership with KFF Health News.” KFF has received more than $30 million from the Gates Foundation since 2003. A list of other financial backers to this alleged health news site includes pharmacy chain behemoth Walgreens.

That would seem to be a troubling association for genuine health journalism practitioners, would it not? KFF has actually partnered with Walgreens for several years “to offer free rapid HIV testing in more than 550 Walgreens stores” on National HIV Testing Day.

Yet KFF still has the gall to assert that it is “a one-of-a-kind information organization” that brings together “substantial capabilities in policy research, polling, and journalism in one organization to meet the need for a trusted, independent source of information on national health issues – one with the scope and reach to be a counterweight to health care’s vested interests and a voice for people.”

Liberty Nation depends on the support of our readers.

Accepting corporate donations from Walgreens and partnering with it for campaigns held in stores throughout the country sure seems an odd way to tilt against those “vested interests” running amok in the health care system.

As always, connecting the dots in this thoroughly phony $80 million “news” venture uncovers all sorts of interesting chummy associations. The Gates Foundation, the hard leftist Ford Foundation, and Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp are all listed together as donors to CNC’s Chalkbeat plank, which claims to be dedicated to reporting boosting “the effort to improve schools for all children.”

They Call It Journalism

Here’s a random news headline from Chalkbeat from Oct. 29, 2024, filed just before the Nov. 5 presidential election: “Trump’s deportation plan could separate millions of families, leaving schools to pick up the pieces.”

Is this “nonpartisan” local news in action? But you already knew what the content would be like as soon as we told you who was paying the bills. Laughably, The New York Times doesn’t believe readers can reach such elementary conclusions.

The Times runs a “Headway” initiative that has featured Civic News Company material. “How Teens Are Handling a Flood of Election Misinformation” was a feature article run under the Headway label on Nov. 1, just four days before Election Day. It was co-authored by Chalkbeat writers and Headway Public Square Editor Terry Parris Jr.

The loaded “reporting” is once again unsurprising. But a disclaimer slapped on at the end of the article fully captures the decrepit state of journalism ethics at the once-celebrated Gray Lady.

“The Headway initiative is funded through grants from the Ford Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors serving as a fiscal sponsor,” the disclaimer reads. “The Woodcock Foundation is a funder of Headway’s public square. Funders have no control over the selection, focus of stories or the editing process and do not review stories before publication. The Times retains full editorial control of the Headway initiative.”

We’re awash in Rockefeller and Ford Foundation money, but never fear: They have no say at all over any part of the journalism process. Never mind that the glaring slant of the entire piece we just published above this box happens to coincide perfectly with the Ford Foundation’s well-known ideological leanings.

“The Times will also work with the nonprofit Solutions Journalism Network, which will provide consulting and training for the Headway team,” the paper announced in December 2020 when launching its “new journalism” initiative.

“Equity & Inclusion” is the second item listed under the “About Us” menu on the Solutions Journalism Network website. “As a journalism organization, we acknowledge that negative, reductive and denigrating coverage of communities outside the dominant majority – especially those of color – has caused immense harm to those communities and to society as a whole. We are taking action to help bring an end to reporting practices that perpetuate bias and stigma,” SJN states.

This is how silly The New York Times has become. And look who is piling into the clown car with them.

Along with the Gates, Ford, and Rockefeller foundations, financial supporters of Solutions Journalism Network include global investment powerhouse Goldman Sachs via its corporate Philanthropy Fund.

Bold new ways to journalize, brought to you by Goldman Sachs. And a staggeringly blind big-box media colossus wonders why nobody takes it seriously anymore.

Trying To Figure Out How Much Of The Government Grants Goes To Left-Wing Causes And Propaganda

April 15, 2025 Francis Menton @ Manhattan Contrarian

Back on February 14, I had a post titled “How Much Of This Has Been Paid For By The U.S. Taxpayer?” The post asked that question about a sample of issues held dear by the Left: migrant caravans, services in the U.S. to illegal aliens, DEI and climate alarm.

Over the intervening weeks it has become clear that the general answer is “a lot of it,” but the details will be slow to emerge. For example, you can go to the website of DOGE and get an endless list of hundreds of contracts and grants that have been reduced or canceled. But they all seem to have legitimate headlines or titles, even if they were wasteful. How much of this money was getting diverted to an NGO, and from there to another NGO and then another until it ended up funding migrant caravans or pro-Palestinian propaganda or some other such cause. There is very little indication.

Certainly, you can count on the biggest left-wing grant recipients to be less than honest in defending their fiefdoms. Consider, for example, Harvard University. It’s been big news the past couple of days that Harvard has refused to knuckle under to President Trump’s demands that it rein in anti-semitism, in order to retain its many hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars of annual federal funding. Harvard President Alan Garber defended the university’s position in an email addressed to the “Harvard Community” that is publicly available here. Here’s how it starts out:

For three-quarters of a century, the federal government has awarded grants and contracts to Harvard and other universities to help pay for work that, along with investments by the universities themselves, has led to groundbreaking innovations across a wide range of medical, engineering, and scientific fields. These innovations have made countless people in our country and throughout the world healthier and safer. . . .

These partnerships are among the most productive and beneficial in American history. New frontiers beckon us with the prospect of life-changing advances—from treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and diabetes, to breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, quantum science and engineering, and numerous other areas of possibility. For the government to retreat from these partnerships now risks not only the health and well-being of millions of individuals but also the economic security and vitality of our nation.

It all looks like mis-direction to me. How much of Harvard’s federal funding goes to the widely-supported subjects that Garber lists — Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, diabetes, AI, quantum science and engineering? Clearly a small minority. And how much goes to garbage like, for example, climate alarm? Garber won’t even mention that one, nor will he provide a quantitative breakout of how much federal taxpayer money Harvard sends down that particular rathole. If you wish, you can go to the Harvard website, where you will find an unbelievable profusion of climate alarm initiatives, for example the:

  1. Harvard University Center for the Environment/Climate,
  2. Harvard University Climate Solutions,
  3. Harvard Business School Confronting Climate Change,
  4. the Harvard Radcliffe Institute Climate Change Initiative,
  5. Harvard School of Public Health Center for Climate, Health and the Global Environment, etc., etc., etc. There are many more.

It is a fair bet that all of these are majority federally funded, and that few if any of them would exist at all without the federal largesse.

More generally, here is an article from Harvard Magazine in 2022 that breaks down the faculty of Harvard’s “Arts & Sciences” divisions between science, humanities and social sciences. (“Arts & Sciences” excludes the professional schools like Law, Medicine and Business.). In round numbers, it’s 40% science and 60% humanities and social sciences. Garber doesn’t even try to defend anything in the majority consisting of humanities and social sciences. A huge percentage of that is America hatred and Marxism. Granted, the humanities and social sciences get far fewer federal grants; but they benefit from the gigantic “overhead” allowances that Harvard has attached to its science and medical grants.

And I haven’t even gotten to Harvard’s tolerance of anti-semitism. On that subject, the Harvard Jewish Alumni Association commented today on X:

“Harvard’s fighting the Trump administration harder than it’s ever fought antisemitism.”

On the question of federal funding for the migrant invasion, again nothing yet coming out of DOGE-land enables any kind of overall quantification. Glenn Reynolds (of Instapundit) has an op-ed in today’s New York Post that compiles some prior Post reporting on the subject. The title is “How Democrats used NGO’s to end-run voters.” Reynolds:

[A]s we’ve learned recently, partly as the result of Department of Government Efficiency digging, many “non-governmental” entities are really just fronts for government activities that Americans would never stand for if Washington attempted them directly. For example, America’s border crisis was funded in large part by President Joe Biden’s government, which sent large sums of money in the form of grants to various NGOs that helped train migrants on how to get to the United States — and how to claim asylum when they arrived.

Most significantly, Reynolds links to this February 1 Post piece reporting that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had terminated some $1.4 billion of funding for 2025 to some 15 UN agencies and 230 (!) NGOs that were involved in some way in providing services to the migrants. That is undoubtedly the tip of the iceberg.

A huge and barely-explored question remains, which is how much federal funding finds its way via various NGOs to Democrat-supporting political groups? A tantalizing hint emerged on March 27, when a gun-control group called March for Our Lives suddenly laid off 13 of its 16 paid staffers. March for Our Lives is the group founded by anti-gun activist David Hogg, the same guy who got elected Vice Chair of the DNC on February 1. The stated mission of MFOL is “voter engagement” on the gun control issue.

Go to the tax filings of MFOL, and you will not find any disclosures of who the donors are. At a Facebook page called “Donald Trump for President” (I’m not sure that this is a valid Trump page) it is alleged that MFOL suffered a “drastic collapse in donations via ActBlue immediately following Trump’s closure of USAID.” So, was MFOL funded via funds laundered from grants originally coming from USAID? It is certainly a reasonable hypothesis, although at this point I cannot find definitive confirmation. Maybe one of the readers can find that. I do not know of any other reason why funding for an anti-gun group, let alone one so high-profile as MFOL, would suddenly evaporate shortly after Trump’s inauguration. You would think that Trump’s inauguration would be energizing the anti-gun groups, rather than the opposite.

So let’s all be on the lookout for Democrat activist groups seeing their ActBlue or other such funding suddenly disappearing. I highly doubt that MFOL will be the only one.

The Trojan Horses

By Rich Kozlovich

I originally posted this in 2009 in order to make sure there was no mistake about who these Trojan horses are. I linked and quoted information directly from the Activist Cash web site, which as far as I can tell no longer exists, as a result, none of the links work, and truth be told, I'm not sure if all of these organizations still exist, but the information presented here is what I posted from the site at that time.

I've linked what files I have on some of these groups from P&D.  Some of the articles will be repetitious as they cover many of these groups at the same time, so bear with it.

There are other groups not listed here such as
I am a firm believer in the old axiom that birds of a feather flock together.  I originally published this list in 2009, and a lot has happened since then as a wake up call to the nation over where the funding is coming from for all these activists group, and their "mostly peaceful" riots.  The big difference is until DOGE exposed what's going on we couldn't prove so much of it was coming from government agencies like USAID, deliberately working to destroy the nation.  Now we know.

Natural Resources Defense Council - The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the utility infielder of nanny groups. Because its name implies a wide-ranging universe of issues, the group can be counted on to inject itself into just about any debate where there’s an environmental argument to be made. Washington PR firm Fenton Communications has made use of the NRDC in a variety of public campaigns, the most famous example of which was the 1989 “Alar-on-apples” food scare.

Following the release of a report called “Intolerable Risk” — which claimed that Alar was “the most potent cancer-causing agent in our food supply” and blamed the chemical for “as many as 5,300” childhood cancer cases — Fenton and NRDC went on a five-month media blitz. The campaign kicked off with a CBS 60 Minutes feature seen by over 50 million Americans. Despite the fact that the claims were completely unfounded, hysteria set in. Apples were pulled off of grocery shelves, schools stopped serving them at lunch, and apple growers nationwide lost over $250 million.

Currently, NRDC is focusing a great deal of its vast resources fighting against genetically improved foods.

The Wall Street Journal printed one of David Fenton’s internal memos, after the Alar-on-apples scandal was publicly debunked. Here’s Fenton in his own words: “We designed [the Alar Campaign] so that revenue would flow back to the Natural Resources Defense Council from the public, and we sold this book about pesticides through a 900 number and the Donahue show. And to date there has been $700,000 in net revenue from it.”

NRDC joined forces again with Fenton Communications in 1998 to promote a food-scare campaign called “Give Swordfish a Break!” which was operated by SeaWeb, an organization created by Fenton specifically for this campaign. Nearly all of the funding for this effort came from pass-through grants solicited by NRDC on behalf of SeaWeb. Two years later the anti-swordfish campaign folded, with both groups claiming victory. The whole promotion was based on the myth that Atlantic swordfish were being over-fished to the point of extinction. But according to the National Marine Fisheries Service, that simply wasn’t true.

My NRDC file

American Corn Growers Association - At a March 21, 2000, press conference, the organic marketer-funded Center for Food Safety unveiled a petition demanding that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration begin requiring warning labels on all genetically improved foods. Among the co-signers of this document were the American Corn Growers Association and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

With its all-American name, the American Corn Growers Association (ACGA) brings to mind visions of Heartland cornfields and a simple farm life straight out of Grant Wood’s “American Gothic.” But in reality, ACGA represents a farming style more Cuban than American.

Center for Science in the Public Interest - “The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is the undisputed leader among America’s “food police.” CSPI was founded in 1971 by current executive director Michael Jacobson, and two of his co-workers at Ralph Nader’s Center for the Study of Responsive Law. Since then, CSPI’s joyless eating club has issued hundreds of high-profile—and highly questionable—reports condemning soft drinks, fat substitutes, irradiated meat, biotech food crops, French fries, and just about anything that tastes good.”

Earth First!  - In 1997-98, the Trees Foundation, which serves as the fiscal agent for various Earth First! groups, reported to the IRS that it received funding from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Trees noted that the NRDC money was “specifically designated for” three California groups “for their work in the Headwaters Forest protection effort.” One of these groups was the Ecology Center, where Karen Pickett runs the Headwaters campaign. Pickett is also the keeper of the cash for the Earth First! Direct Action Fund.

Another group that NRDC “specifically designated” should get pass-through money from the Trees Foundation was Redwood Justice. Redwood Justice’s main program is paying the legal bills for Earth First! leader Darryl Cherney’s lawsuit against the FBI.
A spin off this group is the super radical Earth Liberation Front (ELF). “Three workers sleeping at a construction site were able to escape after the terrorist Earth Liberation Front (ELF) set fire to an unfinished, 200-unit condominium development late one night in August, 2003. "It could have killed someone," said San Diego fire captain Jeff Carle.”

Environmental Media Services - SeaWeb’s wholly unnecessary “Give Swordfish a Break!” campaign, conceived and directed by Fenton Communications, was originally designed as a cooperative campaign with the Natural Resources Defense Council (SeaWeb and NRDC are still Fenton clients). In its typical role as media “front” group, Environmental Media Services heavily promoted the swordfish boycott on behalf of both NRDC and SeaWeb for two years, ending with a hollow declaration of victory in August 2000.

Environmental Working Group - The Natural Resources Defense Council and Environmental Working Group are both clients of leftist PR firm Fenton Communications, based in Washington, DC. David Fenton, who runs this firm, also sits on EWG’s board.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency includes a remarkable number of anti-consumer activists on various advisory committees. When invitations to join the current EPA Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee were issued in August 2001, the Environmental Working Group’s Sean Gray made the list, as did Erik Olson of NRDC, John Vickery of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, and Troy Seidle of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

NRDC and EWG have been tag-teaming both EPA panels and the public for several years. In one celebrated episode, both groups’ representatives pulled out of Vice President Gore’s “Tolerance Reassessment Advisory Committee” in 1999, claiming that even Al “Earth in the Balance” Gore wasn’t banning pesticides fast enough for their liking. The two organizations co-released a (later debunked) report in 1996 claiming that 45 million Americans were drinking “contaminated” water. Not surprisingly, EWG pointed the finger of blame at “pesticide runoff.”

My Environmental Working Group file.

Greenpeace - The Natural Resources Defense Council and Greenpeace USA are both clients of leftist Washington PR boutique Fenton Communications. David Fenton’s flacks have perfected the art of the food scare, including NRDC’s Alar-on-apples fundraising scam in 1989, SeaWeb’s ridiculous 1988 swordfish boycott, and the more recent StarLink corn fiasco.

Greenpeace is the largest environmental organization in the world, with an international membership of over 5 million and offices in over 20 countries. Forbes magazine once described it as “a skillfully managed business” with full command of “the tools of direct mail and image manipulation -- and tactics that would bring instant condemnation if practiced by a for-profit corporation.” But Greenpeace has escaped public censure by hiding behind the mask of its “non-profit” status and its U.S. tax exemption.

Here is my Greenpeace file.

Humane Society of the United States - When the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) sued the United States Navy because it believed “human-generated noise -- including active sonars – ha[d] a negative effect on marine mammals,” the Humane Society of the United States was happy to sign on. The two groups have also sued Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport, O’Hare Airport, and others. The Keep Antibiotics Working (KAW) coalition counts both HSUS and NRDC as members. KAW aims to scare the public about the supposed “overuse” of antibiotics on farm animals. They were also both members of the Center for Science in the Public Interest’s Foodspeak coalition. Members hoped to avoid lawsuits for false claims against food companies by overturning food disparagement laws.

Despite the words “humane society” on its letterhead, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is not affiliated with your local animal shelter. Despite the omnipresent dogs and cats in its fundraising materials, it’s not an organization that runs spay/neuter programs or takes in stray, neglected, and abused pets. And despite the common image of animal protection agencies as cash-strapped organizations dedicated to animal welfare, HSUS has become the wealthiest animal rights organization on earth.

Ruckus Society - While the Ruckus Society’s Tzeporah Berman (who coordinates rainforest programs for ForestEthics in Vancouver) oversaw a Canadian anti-logging campaign on the ground, NRDC put economic pressure on companies like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Kinko’s, Nike, 3M, and Starbucks, each of which pledged to avoid buying products derived from British Columbia rainforest timber.

The Ruckus Society was founded in late 1995 by two giants of the radical environmentalist movement: Mike Roselle and Howard “Twilly” Cannon. Roselle was a founder of Earth First! (of 1980s tree-spiking fame), the group which spun off the domestic terrorist Earth Liberation Front in 1992. He also co-founded the radical Rainforest Action Network. Cannon built his extremist credentials as a front-line activist and ship’s captain with Greenpeace’s French and Russian anti-nuclear campaigns.

SeaWeb - SeaWeb began as a “project” of the NRDC, with a start-up grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts. Now that SeaWeb has been spun off and enjoys relative independence, its leaders still collaborate with NRDC program directors on a variety of promotions, including the wholly unnecessary (and thoroughly debunked) “Give Swordfish a Break!” campaign. NRDC’s opinions on which species of menu fish are politically correct enough to eat can be found on SeaWeb’s “Seafood Choices Alliance” web site. Greenpeace USA and SeaWeb are both clients of leftist Washington PR boutique Fenton Communications, the widely-acknowledged kings of the modern food scare.

What can you say about a group of alarmist publicity-seekers whose greatest passion is “saving” fish species that aren’t even endangered? Are they crazy? Power-hungry? Misguided, as the U.S. government has said? Sadly, SeaWeb is just one in a long line of recent entrants into the food-scare industry. And judging from the the company it keeps, SeaWeb is a prime example of the well-networked Nanny Culture. Its pockets are deep, its friends are powerful, its tactics are disingenuous, and it’s not going away any time soon.

Sierra Club -The Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) have allied on numerous occasions to combat modern livestock farms, most notably joining with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Waterkeeper Alliance in 2003 to sue the Environmental Protection Agency for increased restrictions on pork farmers. The Sierra Club also promoted NRDC's notorious Alar on apples" food scare. The two groups have collaborated multiple times to lobby the U.S. government against biotech foods, and are members of the Keep Antibiotics Working campaign, a slick PR project that frightens Americans away from the conventional meat supply with reckless claims about the use of antibiotics in livestock.

Founded in 1892 by John Muir to "make the mountains glad," the Sierra Club is the oldest and arguably the most powerful environmental group in the nation. But its concerns are no longer limited to the happiness of the valleys. Once dedicated to conserving wilderness for future human enjoyment, the Sierra Club has become an anti-growth, anti-technology group that puts its utopian environmentalist vision before the well being of humans.

My Sierra Club file.

Tides Foundation - NRDC predates the Tides Center by several years, so it was never formally a Tides “project.” But it did enjoy similar “startup” assistance from the Tides Foundation during its early years. To date, Tides has used its “pass-through” granting structure to funnel over a quarter of a million dollars to NRDC, without ever acknowledging where the funds originally came from. In one example, the Tides Foundation was the funding vehicle through which NRDC received funds in 1989 to hire Fenton Communications, its PR firm of choice, to promote its much-hyped and thoroughly debunked Alar-on-apples food scare.

The Western Organization of Resource Councils (WORC) calls one of its flagship programs the “Safe Food Fight.” And with WORC, the emphasis is always on fighting. After all, over 80% of WORC’s funding comes from big-money foundations, and they’re not paying WORC to be calm and rational.

My Tides Foundation file.

Union of Concerned Scientists - The Union of Concerned Scientists often brags about its cooperation with other environmental groups. Among the organizations with which UCS works closely, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) stands at the top of the list. UCS and NRDC regularly co-host press conferences, co-sign petitions, and co-author reports. Both groups are members of the Keep Antibiotics Working coalition and the Save our Environment Coalition.

Committed to an “open-minded search for truth,” and armed with “unrivaled scientific expertise,” the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) “doesn’t say anything [it] can’t back up with solid evidence.” At least, that’s what its fund-raising letters say. The reality is quite different.

Western Organization of Resource Councils - Natural Resources Defense Council has collaborated with the Western Organization of Resource Councils in the past, most notably on matters of mining policy. During the years of the Clinton administration, NRDC and WORC co-signed at least three letters to Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, urging that stricter standards be used for determining mining rights for coal in Western states. In one case, the two groups joined with Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace to sue the Bureau of Land Management over the terms of its coal mining-rights leasing program.

These groups have promoted every misanthropic philosophical flavor of the day that has come down the pike for the last sixty years and if we are to believe all that is said, and I for one do, they have done it with lies, deception and junk science.   The Democrats and RINO'S, along with Canada and the EU, are now in bed with every radical group in the world and they will have a say in everything we do!
