ICSC NEWS RELEASE: Dr. Jay Lehr Named ICSC Senior Policy Analyst

Attention: News Editors and Science, Environment, Energy, and Political Reporters

American environment and energy expert takes a more senior role with ICSC

Ottawa, Canada, April 25, 2019: The Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC), Mr. Tom Harris, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jay Lehr as Senior Policy Analyst to the coalition. Dr. Lehr spent 26 years as Science Director of The Heartland Institute which is based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and has been on the ICSC Science Advisory Board for the past ten years. He is an internationally renowned scientist, author and speaker who has testified before Congress on dozens of occasions on environmental issues and consulted with nearly every agency of the American government, as well as many foreign countries.

After graduating from Princeton University with a degree in Geological Engineering, Dr. Lehr went on to receive the nation’s first Ph.D. in Groundwater Hydrology from the University of Arizona. He later became executive director of the National Association of Groundwater Scientists and Engineers. Since then he has become an often-quoted expert on climate change and energy issues.

Dr. Lehr is the author of more than 1,000 magazine and journal articles and 36 books. He is editor of Rational Readings on Environmental Concerns, McGraw-Hill’s Handbook on Environmental Science, Health and Technology (2000); Wiley’s Remediation Technologies Handbook (2004); the Environmental Instrumentation and Analysis Handbook (2005), the six-volume Water Encyclopedia (Wiley Interscience, 2005); and Wiley Interscience’s Nuclear Energy Encyclopedia: Science, Technology, and Applications (2011).

Dr. Lehr has spoken in front of thousands of audiences on topics ranging from global warming and biotechnology to business management and health and physical fitness. To engage Dr. Lehr as a speaker for your next event, or for media interviews, please contact Tom Harris at the coordinates below.

“Working with ICSC as Senior Policy Analyst is a great opportunity to help defeat the greatest science hoax the world has ever seen,” said Dr. Lehr. “That is, of course, the widespread but completely wrong idea that dangerous global warming is occurring and is caused by human activity.”

The appointment of Dr. Lehr has been warmly welcomed by ICSC Strategic Advisor and Founding Chairman, Terry Dunleavy, MBE, JP, of New Zealand. "Dr. Lehr is an excellent choice to be ICSC’s Senior Policy Analyst,” said Mr. Dunleavy. “His superb presentations, articles and interviews are well-known to experts and laypeople alike.”

Further information on Dr. Lehr may be seen at his ICSC Web page here.

The ICSC is a non-partisan group of scientists, economists and energy and policy experts who are working to promote better understanding of climate science and related policy worldwide. We aim to help create an environment in which a more rational, open discussion about climate issues emerges, thereby moving the debate away from implementation of costly and ineffectual “climate control” measures. Instead, ICSC encourages effective planning for, and adaptation to, inevitable natural climate variability, and continuing scientific research into the causes and impacts of climate change.
ICSC also focuses on publicizing the repercussions of misguided plans to “solve the climate crisis”. This includes, but is not limited to, “carbon” sequestration as well as the dangerous impacts of attempts to replace conventional energy supplies with wind turbines, solar power, most biofuels and other ineffective and expensive energy sources.
