Bishop Robert McManus, head of the Catholic Diocese of Worcester, Mass., issued a statement on Friday condemning the theological writings of Prof. Tat-siong Benny Liew, who holds the Chair of New Testament Studies at Holy Cross College, as "offensive and blasphemous" and "false and perverse" because Liew argues that Jesus Christ was a "drag king" of "gender indeterminicy," with "queer desires."
Liew also claims that when Jesus is dying on the Cross and "being penetrated, his thoughts are on his father. He is, in other words, imagining his passion experience as a (masochistic?) sexual relation with his own Father."
Bishop McManus has called on Liew to disavow his writings because they are "a danger to the integrity of the Catholic faith" and have "no place in a Catholic College."..........To Read More....
