Plato's philosopher-king descended into the cave to tell the inhabitants that they were mistaking shadows on the wall for true reality, which ultimately was contained in the Forms or Ideas from which all things and behavior emanated.   And then, approximately 450 years later, Christ descended from heaven to teach mercy, love, compassion, and application of the moral law by grace through His death on the Cross and resurrection........Liberals cannot abide traditional morality.  It interferes with their pursuit of the New Man......
